Chapter 793: Chapter 793: They Didn’t Do Anything

"Jasper Sinclair, can you step back a little, please?"

Nora Northwood’s tone was almost pleading; deep down, she didn’t wish for them to get into an indescribable relationship under unclear circumstances.

Jasper Sinclair couldn’t resist her soft plea and followed her words obediently. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

The entire night, neither of them crossed any boundaries.

To avoid awkwardness, Nora Northwood turned her body, with her back towards Jasper Sinclair.

In the middle of the night, she vaguely felt someone enveloping her body.

...

The next day.

Nora Northwood was startled awake.

In her deep sleep, she had a long dream; in the dream, she was in Melbourne.

She witnessed the explosion on a yacht and saw Jasper Sinclair shielding another woman right in front of her.

As the saying goes, "You dream at night what you think about during the day." That’s probably true.

When she woke up, there was no sign of Jasper Sinclair opening his eyes. She was panting heavily, with a layer of fine sweat on her forehead, and her pillow was damp.

She stared at the ceiling, dazed for a while before pulling herself out of the nightmare.

Fearing she might wake Jasper Sinclair, she went to the shower room next door to take another shower.

She got up an hour earlier than usual, with nothing to do at home, so she simply went to VK ahead of time.

At nine o’clock.

While holding a regular meeting in the conference room, Nora Northwood received a call from Jasper Sinclair.

She ignored it, turning the screen face-down on the table.

"Buzz—buzz—" About half a minute later, the phone vibrated twice.

"Uncle Kevin said you didn’t have breakfast."

"Afraid it’ll be awkward to see me?"

These two messages appeared consecutively on the main screen interface.

After the meeting ended, Nora Northwood finally replied.

"You’re overthinking this." Simple, and very easy to understand, words.

Nora Northwood thought that would be the end of it, until noon when the reception desk called her office.

"Director Nora, there’s a Mr. Sinclair downstairs inviting you for lunch."

Upon receiving the call, Nora Northwood was full of questions.

If it’s just lunch, then just have lunch. Why bother involving VK’s staff to make this particular call?

Nora Northwood quickly took off her lab coat, went to the reception to meet Jasper Sinclair, and asked him, "Why didn’t you just call me directly?"

"You didn’t answer."

Jasper Sinclair shrugged, eyes full of innocence.

Only then did Nora Northwood realize that after replying to his messages during the morning meeting, she switched her phone to ’Do Not Disturb’ mode, and it stayed that way until now.

Realizing it was her own mistake, she didn’t say anything further.

"Did you come back from the company?"

"Mm."

"Anything special?"

Nora Northwood didn’t think Jasper Sinclair came all this way just for a simple meal.

Most people wouldn’t do anything without purpose, and Jasper Sinclair was even less likely.

However, the answer Jasper Sinclair gave denied her speculation; he said, "Just came to have lunch with you."

"Just lunch?"

"If you’d like to have something else happen, I’m open to it too."

Sometimes, Jasper Sinclair really wanted to pry open her head and see what’s inside.

While the two remained silent, Lily Sloan interrupted.

"Director Sinclair, what brings you, such a busy man, here?"

Lily Sloan’s knowledge still lingered at the stage where Jasper Sinclair bullied her good friend for Peach Bell.

She was unaware of the twists and turns in between, and the matter of the "spousal agreement."
