Fated to the Triplet Alphas-Chapter 110: The King and Queen Are...

Chapter 110
~Jade’s POV~
Silence fell around us for a split second before the murmurs began. My stomach dropped, and then I saw them.
Pen walked in like nothing had happened, Nyx by his side, her hand tucked neatly into his arm. The moment his eyes landed on Isadora, he didn’t stop.
He leaned down and pressed a kiss to Nyx’s cheek before leading her further away into the crowd.
Something inside me snapped.
Isadora gasped softly beside me, her hand flying to her mouth as her eyes filled with tears.
The whispers grew louder. People were already talking about his confession, about Nyx, about everything.
I placed a hand gently on Isadora’s shoulder, feeling her tremble beneath my touch, but she broke. A sob tore from her chest before she turned and ran.
"Isadora—wait!" I caught her hand, trying to stop her. "He’s not worth it, he’s a jerk and—"
"Don’t!" she snapped, yanking her hand away. Her eyes burned with pain. "You don’t know how I feel, Jade!"
The words hit sharper than I expected. "So, don’t stand there and tell me anything when you have a perfect life."
I could say anything else, as Isadora turned and disappeared into the crowd.
I moved to go after her, but Silver’s hand caught my wrist, stopping me. "Let her go," he said quietly. "She needs space."
I hesitated. A part of me wanted to be there for her, but another part knew Silver was right. My chest felt tight as I nodded slowly.
Ziva groaned beside me, clenching her fist. "I swear I’m going to deal with him."
"Don’t cause a scene," Adrian quickly interjected.
"Well, if not now, later it would seem." She rolled her eyes and folded her arms in front of her chest.
Before I could respond, a familiar voice cut in. "Well, isn’t this entertaining?" I turned to see Silvie approaching with a smug smile.
"I warned her," she continued lightly. "But I guess some people just enjoy being played. Though I suppose this is partly your fault too."
I stilled, and for a moment there, I said nothing. Then my lips curled slightly at the side.
"Say that again."
Her expression flickered. "Maybe if you weren’t so busy inserting yourself into everything, and pushing her to accept his confession, then—"
"Oh, please," I cut in smoothly. "You’re really blaming me because Isadora, my friend, and surprisingly yours, chose a guy who clearly doesn’t respect her? That’s pathetic."
A few nearby students turned toward us. Silvie’s jaw tightened. "And why not? You are the object of envy for her. I bet she only accepted him because you stole every other male’s attention from her. I bet she has a crush on Silver, but he asked you out."
My brow furrowed. "Excuse me?"
Even Silver looked shocked by the news. Though Isadora had always been shy, if she had a crush on Silver, I would have stepped back for her."
Just then, a waiter passed by, and suddenly, Silvie stumbled forward, crashing into him.
The tray tilted, and drinks spilled in my direction as Silvie let out a dramatic gasp, clearly aiming to fall into the waiter and then me.
Unfortunately for her, I stepped aside.
Silver’s arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me smoothly into his chest as the chaos missed me entirely. For a brief second, everything stilled. Silvie straightened, her face flushed with anger, the second our eyes met.
"What did you just attempt to do?" Ziva asked from beside us. Her eyes were brimming with anger, and I knew she still had bottled rage from Pen and Isadora’s issue.
Rather than feel offended or even acknowledge her, Sylvie ignored Ziva. "The night’s still young," she muttered through gritted teeth.
I held her gaze, unfazed by her threats, though deep down, I hoped it wasn’t something that would affect my friends. "I hope so."
She turned sharply and walked away. The music swelled again, the party slipping back into motion like nothing had happened, but my mind wasn’t fully there.
It drifted to Isadora, to Xavier, Drake, to the fact that I still had a secret to share with them, and the strange feeling lingering beneath my skin.
"Well, I’ll avoid her if I were you,’ Adrian advised.
I gave a small smile and tugged Silver along. "Come, Silver, I think I need a drink. This night was supposed to be fun, not this gloomy, witchy energy I am getting."
Then, just as the lights dimmed slightly, the announcer’s voice echoed once more. "Attention, everyone... It’s time."
A hush fell over the hall, the kind that crept in slowly until even the music seemed to fade into the background. For a moment, I had almost forgotten the entire point of the Valentine’s Day party.
It wasn’t just about the dancing, the drinks, or the carefully curated appearances. It was about the crown.
A king and queen.
A pair chosen to represent the student body, to stand at the front of it all, and somehow end up working alongside the Student Council for the rest of the year. Influence, power, visibility... all wrapped in something that was supposed to feel romantic.
"The crowning of this year’s Valentine King and Queen is about to begin," Ryland, the student council social rep, announced once more, his voice echoing through the hall.
"Who even campaigned for this?" From where she stood beside Adrian, Ziva asked under her breath, though her eyes never left the stage.
I let out a quiet scoff. "Whoever gets it, I just hope it’s not Silvie or Vera. The last thing we need is their evil paws anywhere near council business."
Silver, standing beside me, let out a soft chuckle. "As long as Dean and Kai are there, no such ideas—or paws—are getting through."
I glanced at him, smiling faintly as I took in how sharp he looked in his navy blue tuxedo. It fit him too well, the clean lines and dark tone making him stand out without trying.
"Let’s hope for the best," I murmured.
Just then, a waiter passed by, and we both reached for a glass of wine at the same time. Our fingers brushed briefly before we pulled back, each taking one. The glasses clinked softly between us.
I tried to focus on the stage, on whatever Ryland was still saying, but my attention slipped.
Something pulled at me, and my gaze drifted across the room—and then stilled. Pen.
He stood near one of the entrances, slightly tucked away from the crowd. But it wasn’t just him that caught my attention.
It was the person he was talking to.
The guy had his back to the room, shoulders relaxed, posture almost too casual. Yet something about him felt... wrong. My eyes narrowed slightly, focusing on the subtle movements of his hand as he spoke.
And just like that, my chest tightened.
At the same time, Pen turned, his gaze sweeping the room until it landed in my direction. The other guy shifted as well, turning just enough for me to catch a glimpse—
Troy. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
My grip tightened around the stem of my glass.
Javelin surged forward instantly, her anger sharp and immediate as it burned through my veins. I took a step forward without thinking, my body already reacting before my mind could catch up.
But then—=
"And the king and queen are..." Ryland’s voice cut through everything, halting me mid-step as my feet froze.
"...Silver Blaze and Jade Snow."
