Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan-Chapter 245 - 197: Permissions Upgrade, the Power of a Demigod
The process of ascension grew more and more outrageous.
He was straying further and further down the path of inhumanity.
The daily life of a normal person was now a thing of the past for Lince.
’My physical body is already approaching a thousand kilometers in size.’
’Although the size ratio of my Elemental Body to my physical body seems to have dropped from ten-to-one to five-to-one, the benefits are actually greater in terms of the integration between my spirit and body.’
’So in the end, it seems my path as a Giant Dragon will be to gradually abandon my Elemental Body, taking the route of shattering all laws and achieving apotheosis through pure power?’
Lince opened his enormous, fiery pupils. He was musing, feeling the clarity brought by his new Divinity.
At that same moment, a familiar notification sound chimed.
[Congratulations to the Chief Player and Chief Operations Administrator on successfully ascending to Demigod.]
[Given your status as an administrator, you have received a Law-based title, forged by the True Game at great cost, as a reward: Catastrophe Dragon!]
[Catastrophe Dragon: This title was forged from the War Law. When you enter other worlds and inflict destructive blows, you will, upon achieving victory in a world-war, reap a reward of Power of Attributeless Law equivalent to at least ten percent of that world’s Mana Will energy level.]
(Power of Attributeless Law: Can be directly fused into the Law-based abilities of your Divinity and Divine Format. The subsequent impact on your growth will be incredibly profound. The Chief Operating Officer is urged to cherish all that you have worked so hard to obtain.)
[Congratulations, Chief Operations Administrator. Your authority has been upgraded to Level Two!]
(Level Two Authority: You now possess greater authority over the operating rules of the True Game, as well as the ultimate power to appoint and dismiss lower-level Authority Holders. Furthermore, you will have greater immunities and dominion over all worlds covered by the rules of the True Game.)
[In light of the Chief Administrator’s ascension to Demigod, you have been granted slots to designate Deities who will have 100% control over their worlds under the rules of the True Game.]
(Deity Designation Slots: You may designate and sponsor native Demigods to ignite their Divine Fire and raise their Divine Kingdom, guaranteeing a risk-free Ascension to Divinity. For the Blue Star main world, only Players may be designated for Ascension to Divinity. Please be advised, Chief Administrator.)
(Blue Star: 1 slot.)
(Oakland World: 1 slot.)
(Karte World: 1 slot. Rule Erosion Level: 48%. Designation currently unavailable.) 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
(Green Earth Satellite World: 1 slot. Rule Erosion Level: 12%. Designation currently unavailable.)
(Note: Designation is not possible in worlds where the game’s rules do not have full coverage.)
Needless to say, Lince’s gains from this ascension to Demigod were as bountiful as ever.
As the foremost individual in the True Game, his priority in the system’s cultivation Sequence was the highest; it felt as though the True Game was pouring all its resources into him.
The title related to the War Law went without saying; it was clearly the True Game’s response to his recent line of thought.
Forging such a Law must have consumed a great deal of the True Game’s power; otherwise, the system wouldn’t have placed such special emphasis on it.
As for the authority upgrade and the Deity designation slots, Lince considered them merely icing on the cake.
Still, he had to admit the rewards were more than generous.
In the Oakland and Carter Continents, no native Demigods had yet appeared, based on the current situation.
The Players from Blue Star were even further from that point.
However, thanks to the Pure-blooded Dragon Clan Bloodline Lince had bestowed, the Oakland Continent now had the potential to produce a Demigod.
On the surface, Lince only had one member of the Dragon Race at the Saint Tier Peak under his command: Sismerton.
But after ascending to Demigod, Lince’s Dragon Descendant Transformation ability had gained ten more portions of Demigod-Tier Dragon Bloodline.
That made fifteen portions of Demigod-Tier Dragon Descendant Transformation bloodline in total.
Excluding the two portions he had already used, this meant Lince could instantly create at least thirteen more Saint-Tier dragons.
Of course, if Lince was willing to go all out and bestow an entire portion of Demigod-Tier Bloodline on a Saint-Tier Sub-dragon or another Dragon Species, he could instantly gain a dragon capable of ascending to the Demigod Tier.
However, Lince had no such plans at the moment.
After all, the moment the thought occurred to him, the system informed him of the consequences.
If he were to completely bestow one type of Bloodline on a single individual, he would permanently lose the ability to perform transformations with that specific Dragon Bloodline.
In other words, that type of Dragon Species could only continue to exist through natural reproduction from that point forward.
Until he had ensured the population of the Dragon Race reached a sufficient scale, Lince certainly wouldn’t do that.
After all, it was incredibly troublesome for Demigod-level dragons to produce offspring. Not only was finding a suitable partner difficult, but the time required was also immense.
By the time that type of dragon managed to propagate its bloodline naturally, the dragons Lince had personally transformed would have already grown into a legion.
Lost in thought, Lince glanced back at Blue Star and slowly retracted his Elemental Body.
Soon, to the naked eye on Blue Star, the second of the two suns vanished.
Only then did Lince stretch his body.
At that moment, one could clearly see streams of flame circulating endlessly over the scales of Lince’s terrifying Giant Dragon Body, while the space around him constantly rippled.
[Role: Dragon of Space and Fiery Sun (Adult Stage)] (Ancient Dragon) (Clan Totem)
[Tier: Demigod]
[Divinity: 1. Space Dragon; 2. Fiery Sun Dragon.]
[Divinity Fusion Level: 50%]
[Body Type: 1,000 km]
[Non-Ancient Bloodlines Possessed: Thirty-eight.]
(Demigod Tier: 15; Saint Tier: 23; Diluted: None.)
[Potential: ★★★★★★★★] (Eight stars)
[Elemental Affinity: Main Space, Secondary Fire; Full Attribute Affinity]
[Ordinary Skills: Omitted]
[Rule Skills:
1. Space Travel (Strong),
2. Space Cage (Strong),
3. Dragon God Ascension (Strong),
4. Dragon Descendant Transformation (Strong),
5. Elemental Body (Strong),
6. Great Sun Spirit Body (Medium),
7. Space Dragon Body (Medium),
8. Breaking Technique Body (Weak).]
(Breaking Technique Body: Possesses resistance to Rule Power and Elemental Power, with the resistance level depending on the opponent’s strength. Currently provides approximately 10% to 50% damage reduction against the Weak Rule Power of Deities below the level of Medium Divine Power.)
Aside from the upgrade to his Elemental Body, Lince’s ascension to Demigod had also granted him one new Rule Skill.
And while this skill was only at the level of Weak Rule Power, its effect was immense.
In his current Giant Dragon Body, he could just stand there and let an ordinary Deity of Weak Divine Power attack him, and they would likely wear themselves out completely.
Most of their Law Power would be unable to breach his Scale Armor Defense.
This was truly a pleasant surprise.
From this, Lince now had a rough idea of his own strength.
He could now contend with an ordinary Deity of Medium Divine Power, whereas Deities of Weak Divine Power were clearly no longer a threat.
To possess power rivaling a Deity of Medium Divine Power with only the body of a Demigod...
At this moment, Lince finally understood why the Deities of the Oakland Continent had been so utterly suppressed by the Dragon Race.
’The gap in power is just immense.’
Although ordinary members of the Dragon Race might not be as ridiculously powerful as Lince, their strength was still far beyond what a typical Deity could trifle with.
However, at this point, Lince had a question.
’I’ve only just completed half the journey of a Demigod, haven’t I?’
’So why is my physical body already close to the size of the Space Dragon from the game’s cinematic?’
’Is it because I possess two types of Ancient Dragon Bloodlines?’
The answer was a resounding yes.
Lince used his new Level Two Authority to ask the True Game about the secrets of the Dragon Race.
He had assumed the True Game would once again give him no response.
But this time, the True Game actually responded.
While it didn’t show him another cinematic, it directly transmitted a message.
[Drawing lessons from the failures of the Dragon Race, the True Game has leveraged the non-corporeal nature of the Fiery Sun Dragon, fusing its bloodline into the Player’s soul. This was done to compensate for a potential future weakness: a powerful body but lacking Soul Spirituality.]
[While the Dragon Race is powerful, its abilities are relatively one-dimensional compared to certain ancient beings in the vast Star Realm. Thus, based on available data, the True Game has implemented its ultimate plan for you as a hybrid entity in order to enhance the Chief’s comprehensive strength. Your current achievements are a direct result of this.]
"So? I’m basically an experiment?"
Lince was taken aback by the message.
The ’hybrid entity’ naturally referred to his status as a Player.
A Player possesses a real-world human body, while their game character is their second identity.
In a way, it was another body fused into a single being.
In short, Lince realized that the True Game was no longer holding back.
It was bluntly stating that he was a ’product’ of its own design.
’So there really is a reason for my cheat-like existence,’ Lince thought.
The True Game had likely had his entire path planned out from the very beginning.
Of course, he had to admit, there was an element of luck involved.
The True Game explained this as well: its operating mechanism was merit-based, always selecting ’upwards’.
If Lince had made the ’wrong’ choices at the start of the game, or if another Player’s ’performance’ had been better than his on Inference Day, then someone else might have been the one chosen for cultivation.
Of course, one could always spin conspiracy theories about the True Game’s real motives.
But the True Game had the right to remain silent.
At the end of the day, having gained so much, Lince had no real doubts.
After all, from the very beginning, the True Game’s goal for its Players had been crystal clear.
Conquest!
To conquer every visible world and take control of it.
It was all for the sake of achieving ultimate victory amidst the clash of civilizations.
Green Saturn was a prime example.
At the peak of its power, a civilization that doesn’t expand can only waste away through internal conflict.
And the price of such a decline was to become the spoils of war for another civilization.
As for Blue Star, how exactly had a Magicless World like it been chosen by the True Game?
Or, for that matter, how had Blue Star given birth to something as special as the True Game in the first place?
Lince was truly full of questions.
However, the list of things he didn’t know was long, and this was just one more item on it.
He’d find out sooner or later.
But for now, Lince had more pressing matters to attend to.
It was time for Lince to give the four Insect Deities on Green Saturn a little surprise.
Once he dealt with them, Lince could finally devote himself to building his ’Dragon Race Empire’.
And so, in the span of a single thought, a point of light appeared before Lince’s terrifying form and slowly began to expand.
It eventually transformed into a Star Realm Gate.
The Star Realm Gate didn’t need to be very large. By borrowing the Power of Space and following the anchor point opened by the Star Road, Lince could use his own power to perform Space Travel.
And just like that, Lince’s Giant Dragon form vanished from the space near Blue Star.
