Fake Professor, Misunderstood As Strong-Chapter 266: Under the Rain of Miasmic Poison. Part-1.

Miasma in the ’Abyss Altar Area’ was like a slow poison that would slowly destroy your body from the inside out by corrupting it severely.

It ’preferred’ torturing its victim slowly and as painfully as possible before finally killing it.

Many of its victims were in fact still wandering around in the form of twisted, mindless creatures cursed to wander everywhere with a corrupted body and mind.

Miasma in the ’Wailing Hills’ area, on the other hand, is more ’active’ and seems to ’prefer’ killing its prey fast and efficiently before using their body as its toy.

’The pressure has already started to increase...’

Miasma seems to have already noticed that Jareth managed to cross that wall of miasmic collision and safely made it to this side.

Now it’s started to repel and pressure Jareth with the flowing miasma in the environment.

’The more I stay here, the more mana I will consume as the pressure and repulsion will keep increasing in strength and I will have to spend more mana to counter it...’

Jareth’s mana shield is extremely strong; it’s strong enough to tank most attacks in the entire world and will not be broken unless he himself runs out of mana.

But the main problem is that the more Jareth moves forward, the higher the density of miasma becomes in the environment, and Jareth can’t replenish his mana from the environment, as there’s barely any present.

’I have a lot of mana recovery potions but I would prefer to not use them unless it’s absolutely necessary, as I want to save them for urgent situations...’

Jareth stepped forward steadily at a fast pace.

Everywhere around him was just darkened soil and shattered boulders that were covered in dark black mud.

The reason why the soil and even stones in this place are dark black is because the entire place is being corrupted by miasma.

Even the air is heavily polluted with miasma. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

’The real deal problem has yet to come...’

The more Jareth walked towards the distant hills and mountains, the more humid and wet the soil became.

Moreover, the soil wasn’t muddy due to simple water; it was something more sinister.

After enduring the pressure and repulsion for a while, Jareth finally reached the foot of the nearest mountain, and right there was a massive swamp.

But obviously it was no ordinary swamp; it was a poisonous swamp filled with poison, miasma, and corruption, all at the same time.

*Blub* *blub*

Bubbles were popping off on the surface of the liquid body, as the poison was so toxic and hot that it was literally boiling and evaporating in the air, making the air poisonous too.

’Poison in the air, poison in the ground along with miasma and corruption everywhere... what an amazing combo.’

Jareth could only shake his head in helplessness.

After seeing this horrible scenery, Jareth can understand why no adventurer made it back from this place and why most of them never even managed to reach the actual ’Wailing Hills’ and died even before that.

This poison is boosted by the effect of miasma and corruption, making it so toxic and unbearably hot that it’s insane.

Even Jareth mana shield’s mana consumption increased tremendously, as it had to protect against poisonous gases too now.

Moreover, this poison is extremely corrosive, and it was corroding his mana shield at a very fast pace.

If not for the fact that his mana shield is boosted by ’Mana Singularity,’ his mana consumption would have reached off the charts in an instant just by standing here.

Jareth didn’t want to stay in this place for a while either.

He used his space ring and brought out a silverish-looking container and used his psychokinesis to dip the container in the poison and fill it with that horrible toxin.

’This thing might come in handy in the future; good thing I brought a special container for it beforehand...’

The container was made up of an adamantium and mithril alloy that Jareth had obtained earlier from the ’Abyss Altar Area.’

He had specifically molded some of the remaining alloy into this container so that he could contain this powerful toxin inside it.

As he didn’t have much of the material left, he could only create this small container and can only bring back a small amount of the toxin with him.

’If I had some other powerful container, I could have brought back more... it’s a shame...’

Jareth shook his head as he put the filled container back in his space ring.

Looking at the sky, Jareth noticed dark clouds were starting to appear, and he needed to move forward.

’The rain of glass shards and miasmic poison will begin soon...’

Pressure and repulsion are not the only methods that the miasma in this place can use to deal with an invader; it can also make use of the weather too.

If Jareth keeps staying or keeps moving forward instead of retreating, it will soon be raining, and unlike the dark clouds in the desert of raging thunder, where it rained thunder, the clouds here rain miasmic poison and glass shards.

Why glass shards, you ask?

The thing is that when all this poison evaporates and rises high in the sky, it gets compressed by miasma and corruption again and again as it rises higher and higher.

Due to which, at one point, the miasmic poison gets compressed into solid glass-like shards, which then rain down and hit the ground with a speed faster than a sniper bullet.

Jareth has seen this scene in the game, and he knows that such a thing will happen soon.

Although he can easily stop this glass rain with his mana shield and remain unaffected by it, his mana shield’s mana consumption will increase tremendously as it will be hit by those glass shards.

’It’s almost as if the miasma here is using a pre-planned tactic to precisely target my mana shield, which I have been using for a while now...’

’As I though, whatever spell I use here, miasma will keep adapting to it and will use precise methods to deal with them...’

If it was any other wizard instead of Jareth, this method would have been extremely effective in dealing with their mana shield, as they would have easily run out of mana from such heavy mana consumption.

But Jareth is different; he has ’mana singularity,’ and his mana shield is extremely efficient and powerful. It won’t budge at all and can remain stable for a very long time.

Jareth placed his feet in the poison swamp and used his mana shield to protect his legs.

With his mana shield repulsing the miasmic poison, Jareth started walking on the surface of that massive swamp and increased his walking speed to get out of this area faster.
