In the game it wasn’t possible to sense the direction, as the character was just a bunch of codes, and he couldn’t possibly tell you where you needed to go.

And even this only worked if your character’s mana detection was grade-2 or above level; otherwise, it won’t even appear.

In the real world, only a person with grade-2 or above-level mana detection is capable of seeing through this illusion, and others end up losing their way easily.

This is also one of the main reasons why this place has the name ’Wailing Hills,’ as you hear the ’wails’ of those who are lost in this illusion and are cursed to wander this place until death.

Many adventurers have tried conquering this place, and many lives have been claimed by this illusion since ancient times.

Legend has it that at least more than ten thousand unfortunate souls are still lost in this illusion and are cursed to wander this place for eternity.

Miasma will immediately adapt to Jareth’s mana detection here if he keeps it open for too long.

And if that happened, Jareth will not be able to detect anything with his mana detection anymore, as miasma will start suppressing the feedback he is receiving from it.

Perhaps even corruption might try to invade Jareth’s mind via the connection between his mana detection and his mind in such a scenario.

Expanding your mana sense in a place filled with miasma is already a very risky thing; if not for the fact that Jareth has a ’mana singularity,’ he wouldn’t dare expand it to such a wide range.

If someone else were here in Jareth’s place, they would have had to face immense difficulty just to find the correct direction, as they would have had to open and close their mana detection range over and over.

Which made it near impossible to reach the miracle city anymore, and even if some managed to reach the entrance, they would end up finding Luche standing there as the gatekeeper.

And thus, their deaths would be even more horrible than getting corrupted by miasmic corruption.

Due to many failed adventures, this legend became unpopular and eventually faded away into the annals of history.

’It won’t be wrong to say, that I am the first visitor to this place after several centuries or maybe perhaps even a millennium...’

Jareth landed on the ground as he covered his entire body with a powerful magic shield and stopped flying.

The more he moves forward, the denser the miasma and corruption will get in this place. It would be stupid to fly here, as miasma will start targeting him.

Miasma can adapt, and it will surely try every means possible to stop him from advancing and create obstacles in his way.

Jareth does not want it to adapt to his flying magic, as that will cause him to lose a powerful card from his arsenal.

In case of some emergency, he can fly again and escape; that’s why he doesn’t want to lose this card so early.

’The abyss altar area was hostile because the miasma there was focused of degenerating people and corrupting them... but the miasma here behaves completely different...’
