Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 127: The new CEO
Chapter 127: Chapter 127: The new CEO
"B-but won’t that old man have a heart attack?" a man, presumably the assistant or servant, asked.
"He deserves it," the figure said, a maniacal glint in his dark eyes.
"I’ll do it right away," Mu Fu said, trembling slightly as he spoke. His master was too terrifying!
"Wait."
Mu Fu stopped in his tracks. "Yes, sir?"
"What’s that Shentu Hu doing?" the man asked in a lazy voice.
"I think he just received the news too, sir."
"Lend him a helping hand. Make sure those old, cunning foxes pass their shares to him," the figure said, leisurely strolling to his desk and casually fondling a potted plant on it.
The fragrance of the pink flowers reminded him of her lovely smile.
"Tell him not to forget our deal," the figure said, suddenly breaking a branch of the plant.
SNAP!
The sound of the broken branch was eerily reminiscent of limbs being snapped.
Mu Fu began to sweat. He quickly nodded and left the room.
Meanwhile...
"Shentu Hu wants to become the CEO. He said that this position is rightfully his," Luo Yue reported to Shentu Dong. His boss was gone, and his body hadn’t even turned cold yet, yet there was already chaos in the company.
Luo Yue could only hold back his tears and inform the former CEO. What was more important now was the company. They needed to save it from falling into the hands of a wicked person.
"Who is he to say that? What a coincidence! He appeared at the right time," Shentu Dong said, clenching his fists.
"Wasn’t he kicked out of the Shentu family a long time ago? Why did they let him into the company?" he asked Luo Yue.
"Master Dong, I was suspicious of this at first, but I discovered that three of our directors have given their shares to him!"
Shentu Dong’s eyes widened. "What?!"
"I had Ding Yu investigate it. I’m certain! There’s no mistake! We... we’ve been betrayed..." Luo Yue choked out those words, his face twisted with pain.
Shentu Dong took a deep breath, his heart aching painfully. He had managed the company very well in the past, spending all his time and effort to kick out traitors and disloyal employees and directors. He was sure there was no one left who had divided loyalties toward the Shentu Group.
But now, why were there betrayals? Had he not done a good enough job? Shentu Dong clutched his chest painfully, then looked at Luo Yue. Luo Yue’s eyes flashed with worry and he reached out to support Shentu Dong in case of a heart attack.
"Come with me to the Shentu Group."
Shentu Dong quickly drove to the Shentu building. There was no time to mourn the death of his son. He could only hope that Shentu Jing was still alive and that the authorities would find his body.
When he arrived, he was greeted by Shentu Hu. Yue Zhi came to greet him with a dejected expression. They were in the office that used to belong to Shentu Jing, on the top floor.
Currently, it had been cleared out to make way for the new CEO. So fast, Shentu Dong scoffed. These foxes can’t even wait a day?
"Long time no see, brother. How are you? Sorry for your loss," Shentu Hu said, pretending to be sad.
Unfortunately, he didn’t try hard enough to act convincingly. Shentu Dong and Yue Zhi could tell he was feigning it.
"Long time no see. Why are you here?" Shentu Dong sneered. He couldn’t stand the sight of his younger brother, who had been kicked out of the family long ago due to his misdeeds and misconduct.
"I’m here to help you. I’m sure you’ve received the news by now. Your favorite son is dead. You look tired and fatigued. Let your little brother help you for a while, huh?" The arrogance in his tone made Shentu Dong want to punch him in the face.
"The body hasn’t been found yet. The authorities are still searching. You couldn’t even wait to show your true colors?"
"Aw, come on. Don’t be like that. A country cannot be without a ruler for even a day, dear brother."
"I’m not your brother. You were never my brother," Shentu Dong said coldly.
"Eh, but you can’t deny that we share the same blood, right? Don’t be mad at me, brother," Shentu Hu said with a smile.
Shentu Dong was disgusted with Shentu Hu. He wasn’t even fit to bear the Shentu name!
"What do you want? To take over the company and become CEO? You’re not qualified!"
"Managing companies doesn’t rely on family ties, my dear brother," Shentu Hu said, smiling. "How am I not qualified when you never gave me a chance?"
"A chance? Do you think this is a children’s game? I’m not going to risk my blood, sweat, and tears on a useless bump like you!" The veins on Shentu Dong’s neck were threatening to burst.
"I’ve managed countless companies for other people. If you still think I’m not qualified, then take a look at my CV, dear brother. I’m more than qualified to become the CEO. Besides, my shares are higher than yours now," Shentu Hu said, his meek, caring look replaced with an evil, scheming expression.
Shentu Dong’s eyes narrowed. "You stole those shares. You and the other three directors ganged up to take over the company. I should have kicked you all out when I had the chance! How could you betray me like this?!" Shentu Dong glared daggers at the three directors standing behind Shentu Hu.
Afraid to meet his gaze and burning with guilt, the directors pretended they hadn’t heard his words.
One looked at the ground, another took out his phone and pretended to answer a call from his wife, and the third suddenly became very interested in the ceiling.
Shentu Dong could only scowl at these three directors.
"Am I not qualified to become the CEO, my dear brother?" Shentu Hu stepped toward Shentu Dong, smirking.
