Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 128: Dear uncle
Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Dear uncle
Outside the office, a bunch of employees were trying to eavesdrop on the conversation.
"What’s happening?"
"I can’t hear anything!"
"Stop pushing!"
"What’s going on? Is Shentu Hu really going to become the CEO? My eyes will be ruined!" a female staff member cried.
"There will be no more eye candy for us to ogle!" her friend said, wiping away fake tears with a tissue.
They couldn’t hear what was being said inside the office because the walls were too thick. They could only make out the blurry figures of the people inside.
"Shentu Hu, you’ve committed many atrocious acts in the past, which got you kicked out of the family. With such a bad reputation and criminal record, how will you convince the public? How can someone with a criminal record become the CEO of the prestigious Shentu Group? Isn’t that destroying the hard work my forefathers created?!" Shentu Dong thundered.
"Do I really have a criminal record, dear brother? Or is that just an excuse you and my dear father imposed on me to kick me out of the family?" Shentu Hu’s answer was cocky.
"You!" That’s when Shentu Dong realized something.
Shentu Hu wasn’t afraid of getting his criminal record exposed because someone had already covered it up—or even deleted it entirely!
"Do you want to contact the police and search for my records?" Shentu Hu suggested with a smirk.
"No need! Anyway, I will never let you sit in this position!" Shentu Dong spat at him.
The two men stood face to face, glaring furiously at each other, invisible daggers pointed at each other’s heads.
All the directors became nervous, but they didn’t dare to interfere. After all, Shentu Dong was known for being strict in the past. As for Shentu Hu, the directors understood that he was a cunning and sly person who would throw anyone under the bus to achieve his goals.
They knew this because when he dealt with them, it was precisely his cunning methods that had won them over. They could only feel ashamed and sorry for betraying Shentu Dong’s trust.
"My dear brother, I hold more shares than you," Shentu Hu said, glancing at the three directors behind him, who were still pretending to be busy.
"Why don’t we have a public vote to choose the new CEO?" He smiled at Shentu Dong.
Shentu Dong knew that Shentu Hu must have been preparing for this day for a long time. Who knew how many people in the company were already on his side?
"Our family still has records of your criminal deeds and misconduct. I will expose to everyone what kind of person you are," Shentu Dong said through clenched teeth.
"Really? I don’t think so," Shentu Hu replied, his grin making it clear that he must have asked his spy in the Shentu family to steal the records.
"You’ve really put in a lot of effort for this day, huh?" Shentu Dong said sarcastically, his fists clenched and nostrils flaring. He looked like he could explode at any moment.
"I was just doing my best, dear brother. By the way, how’s sister-in-law Ning?"
"Don’t call me brother! You’re not qualified to stand on equal footing with me! To think you even bear the Shentu surname—peh! Disgusting!" Shentu Dong spat with disdain.
Shentu Hu, who had been holding in his anger for a long time, finally lost his cool.
How dare they look down on me?! How dare they say I’m not fit for this surname?!
"Shentu Dong! You and I are brothers with the same mother! What makes you think you’re better than me in every way? Who hasn’t made mistakes in their youth? Who hasn’t had an embarrassing past?! Why don’t you tell everyone what you did in high school?!" Shentu Hu threatened.
Shentu Dong narrowed his eyebrows.
"Fine! Then I’ll say it!"
"You bastard!"
"You, Shentu Dong, cheated on your first wife with another woman! When sister-in-law found out, she became depressed! That’s how she died!"
The directors gasped behind them! The drama unfolding in front of them had become so intense that none of them could pretend to ignore it any longer.
"You liar! Why are you twisting the truth with lies?!" Shentu Dong shouted.
"Then why don’t you tell everyone the truth, huh?! What’s your version of the story?!" Shentu Hu taunted.
Shentu Dong took deep breaths to calm the anger in his heart.
After waiting a few seconds, Shentu Hu taunted him again.
"Heh, nothing to say, right? Because you’re guilty! You’re guilty of causing her death! She was such a good woman!" Shentu Hu pretended to shed tears in front of everyone, making it seem like he had been close with Nan Feifei, Shentu Jing’s birth mother.
In reality, he was just using Shentu Dong’s weakness against him. Even he, Shentu Hu, didn’t know the exact truth of how Nan Feifei had died that year. He merely used the rumors from that time against Shentu Dong, and the latter couldn’t defend himself anymore!
Does that mean it’s true? It has to be true! Shentu Hu thought. If not, why would this "dear" brother of his look like he’d just been slapped in the face?
"Are there any more reasons for you to stop me, dear brother?" Shentu Hu sneered.
However, Shentu Dong wasn’t a fool. He understood Shentu Hu’s intentions. He couldn’t open his mouth because if he did, the matter he had been protecting for many years would come to light.
What a sly fox!
He could only glare at Shentu Hu with hatred and contempt. Every night when Shentu Dong closed his eyes, he would see her face, her tears, begging him. He promised her... And he would never go back on it, no matter what.
Unfortunately, there was a fox even slyer than Shentu Hu.
"Of course, you’re not qualified, dear uncle!" a voice resounded through the office. A pair of polished shoes strode into the room, hands in pockets, a bright smile on the newcomer’s face.
Shentu Hu, Shentu Dong, and all the directors turned to look at this unexpected guest.
