Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 177: Roles Distribution [2]
Chapter 177: Roles Distribution [2]
While more and more students found their attention directed at the divine figure of the valkyrie, the ones at the core of the conflict did not notice her figure walking towards them like a predator waiting for its prey; even Lucien seemed oblivious to it.
Students moved away from her path, a silent acknowledgement of her absolute power that did not need to be proved, that which did not need to be displayed - her strength that was beyond all opinion from her fellow peers, her fellow students.
While her dark beauty could pierce the hearts of all men in existence, her calm and crimson eyes would similarly send a predatory warning to their senses that this wasn’t a beauty that could be tamed, but absolute destruction that would only obliterate anyone who covets her divine figure.
Sophia seeing that they were still trying to start a fight, brought out one of her swords, and everyone involuntarily backed away even more at that sight, Axel himself did the same, as he said in annoyance, ’This bitch is definitely aura farming.’
She hit the ground with the sword lightly and.....
CLANK.......
The clear sound of metal clanking was heard, as noises of their shouting suddenly stopped, a deafening silence permeated everywhere as the various princes and princesses located the source of the sound, and a sudden tension appeared on their faces, something which betrayed their previous haughty state.
They didn’t understand. Usually, the valkyrie was a loner, only sometimes seen together with Prince Lucien, but she never took on any such leadership roles; she always labeled it as simply troublesome.
She preferred to fight alone and solve her own problems. So, they were all moderately sure that she wouldn’t be interested in such a troublesome thing as being the fortress commander, right? Or distributing any of the roles in general. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
So, most of them simply concluded that she might only be coming to stop them from fighting, considering what little they knew about her, it was a logical conclusion to arrive at, nothing wrong with thinking like that. But Lucien, who knew her much better, knew that couldn’t be it; if she had no interest in interfering, she wouldn’t care about them fighting each other as well.
She also wouldn’t make such grandiose motions just to state her support for Lucien as well. He understood her intentions in an instant and chuckled to himself, ’Sigh, this is going to be unpleasant.’
First suncrest prince Luther didn’t like her overly arrogant and haughty motion, after all to him, who was destined to be the next king, she was but an expensive slave, a bitch who would warm his bed, and grovel at his feet the moment he sat on the thrown.
He didn’t like her attitude one bit. Even though he knew that, technically her status at the moment was indeed higher than his own, until he ascended the throne at least. It was hard to brush off that arrogant superiority that he was simply born with and was treated as from the moment of his birth.
Unable to contain his ego, he asked her in a tone of superiority, "What are you doing?"
Lucien looked at his brother like he was a fucking idiot, while the valkyrie could indeed not do anything to her while they were back in the royal palace, she had to endure countless silent humiliations by the arrogant concubine of the king and her 3 children. But Luther seems to have forgotten that they were not in the palace anymore.
The scarlet light in the eyes of the valkyrie seemed to intensify as she walked forward and looked at the prince dead in the eye and said in a tone so calm that which in itself sends shivers down the spine of everyone present, "What do you think I am doing?"
Even Lucien felt his instincts almost scream in silent danger to back away, which he naturally did, and even Axel, far away, felt a slight sense of danger emanating from her, even though they were quite far away, but he simply brushed off that feeling of unease.
But it looked quite comical to him that the arrogant prince Lucien was backing away like that. Even though she would naturally not harm him. Well, she could harm him, but she could not kill anyone from the Suncrest family.
Prince Luther, even though he was arrogant, was no fool; he found himself backing away, his body almost getting out of control. He felt death looming over him, but she did not even release her killing intent. Even with that, he wasn’t someone with such weak will that he would back away. He glared at her in rage and questioned, "Why are you interfering? What do you want? You want to make Lucien the fortress commander?"
This time his tone was much more subdued and filled with apprehension, the other and prince and princess’s also joined in, unwilling to let her interfere as she pleases, even though they knew that she was terrifyingly strong, that didn’t mean that they would simply back away, Thorian Blackvale on the other hand simply watched on with interest, not getting into that spiral of trouble himself.
"Miss Valkyrie, it would be better for you not to interfere in this."
"Yes, Miss Valkyrie is our strongest combatant; you do not need to think about the strategies."
"That’s right, Miss Valkyrie, your job is to take out the enemy army. As for the chain of command, there is no need for you to deal with such troublesome matters."
Many more comments followed, by various heirs of the royal families, or other heirs of the prominent families. It was also noted that everyone in general felt a sense of estrangement towards the valkyrie, her being an otherworldly summoned being, always formed a barrier between them, it was always a silent indication that she may not actually be a human, or maybe something too different from them.
Sophia’s eyes gleamed even more dangerously, looking at all the ones that were dared to question her; they were all simply implying that she was nothing but a brute, not that she cared much about the opinion of some weaklings in the first place.
She released her boundless killing intent on everyone, especially targeting those heirs of the high echelons who talked nonsense with her. A wave of terror ran through the depths of everyone’s soul. Such malice, such a powerful, dark desire for slaughter, made everyone’s survival instincts scream in fear. A desire to surrender to that malevolent bloodlust overtook them. There were very few people who were barely able to keep themselves sane despite being touched by that bloodlust.
Axel, Lucien, Heinz, and Thorian were among the few who were able to handle her bloodlust moderately well. Axel frowned. This was probably even less than 30% of her bloodlust.
She immediately retracted her bloodlust, seeing that some were about to faint or be mentally injured. In a way, killing intent was not an actual attack; it was a way to psychologically trick the victim’s own brain.
Killing intent simply triggers one’s survival instincts, but if the bloodlust is too heavy, the survival instinct of a being forcefully puts their consciousness to sleep. Which causes some minor mental harm. So, if your willpower is strong enough. It’s not anything threatening in actuality.
