Chapter 147: Intimidation Tactics

There was a large crowd of students in the central field of the academy, with nearly all 1,200 students present. Three groups were gathered, one comprising almost half or more of the students who wished for Axel Nomrad’s punishment.

The other was a small group who had nothing to do with this incident and were only there to watch the show in amusement. The remaining group consisted of only 5 students who were standing opposite to the large crowd of angry students led by Luther Suncrest, the 2nd Suncrest prince, and some other princes from the other kingdoms as well.

The 5 opposite to them were obviously Axel Nomrad, Heinz Gil, Lucien Suncrest, Thorian Blackvale, and a new connection of Axel, who was Enrick Samartan, another figure who will be a shining star within the Samartan great kingdom in the future.

Prince Luther stepped forward and looked at his 4th brother, then looked back at Axel with a meaningful smile, he was silently meaning that Axel, in the end, did take the side of his 4th brother. But Axel didn’t respond, Luther smiled again and asked aloud,

"So, Axel Nomrad, are you here to plead guilty to your crimes?"

Axel chuckled and said, "What crimes? This is clearly a scheme, and the one who is responsible for it is also quite obvious."

Many loud curses and yells followed that statement of his, but they fell on deaf ears. Luther sneered at him,

"Since so many of us are here and the academy is not intervening to save you, are you counting on the rule that no academy student is allowed to harm another? Like I said, if all of us do it together, kill you that is, who will punish us? Besides, you’re not worth it for the academy to be against so many political parties."

Axel shook his head and said, "You misunderstand, the academy is not intervening because they know I am perfectly capable of resolving this myself."

At this time, another person came forward and shouted furiously, "Axel, you bastard, I bought your weapon to study it, and I almost died because of it. Were you aiming to kill all of us?"

Axel glanced at the person shouting, standing right beside Luther. It was none other than Taser Vex. Axel clicked his tongue. Of course, he always had a rather not-so-pleasant feeling around this guy.

Luther added, "There is nothing to resolve, Axel, we would be the ones to do the resolving today."

Axel let out a small mocking laughter, hearing that, he stated in ridicule,

"If you guys think that you can pass through these 4 and get me in time, please go ahead and try. Well, the academy might not do anything to all of you if you target me, but what if any of you injure these four in the process?"

"Do you think you can still go unpunished????" added Axel darkly.

At this moment, Lucien stepped forward and stated to Luther,

"First Brother, why don’t we have a little spar, like the good old times?"

Thorian Blackvale stepped up, "3rd brother, let’s not do this if we don’t have to."

Enrich Samartan declared, "Cousin, let’s not embarrass ourselves, just step back."

Last but not least, Heinz stepped up, scanned everyone and everything with his glazing eyes, activating the 4-star aspect. He released the entirety of his power and activated the special stat granted to him by the sage aspect, which was called the sage force.

The power of the highest aspect within the magic branch, unleashing its monumental power pressed onto every single student, a harrowing force attacked the energy reserves of every single student and for a moment, they felt their energies become sluggish as if the mana in the air itself has began to try and rebel against them somehow.

The various magic branch aspect holders could especially feel that everything became sluggish, and almost 5-10% of their combat prowess decreased just from that alone. Axel looked at Heinz in shock; he was also somewhat affected by it, even though very slightly, maybe 1% or even less. He shouted internally in joy.

’This bastard, he actually learned to control the sage force.’

Everyone looked at Heinz in pure terror. How could one single Seeker bring down more than 5% combat prowess of 800 Seekers on a similar level to himself? What sort of monster was this? Even the arrogant Lucien squinted at Heinz carefully.

Then Lucien smiled and said aloud, "Well, I suppose I should do something as well."

While Heinz Sage Force did suppress the use of natural mana of mage type aspect holders, thus decreasing the efficient use of magic, but the warrior type aspect holders were barely affected, they did feel a terrifying pressure placed upon them, but it didn’t really hinder any of their actual power, so Lucien decided to step up his game, for the intimidation tactic to work properly. After all, no matter how terrifying all 5 of them seem, they could never match against all the other students of the academy. You need to understand that every single student of the academy was elite among elites.

Even if with all of their hidden powers, if they fought with their lives on the line, like Axel and Lucien revealing their bloodline, the other 3 also revealing their own secrets. That’s right, even with all of that, at best they might be able to kill only 200-300 of their peers, Axel surmised.

Lucien’s light golden eyes took on a shinier hue, the iris of his eyes changed its shape ever so slightly to the point it wasn’t noticeable even in the slightest to anyone else, except for someone who knew he had a dragon bloodline coursing through his veins.

For a moment, Axel felt the tension in the air stack up continuously, he almost thought if the guy was about to let out a dragon roar or something at the spur of the moment, now that would be totally fucked up. Thankfully, he did no such thing.

Lucien waved his hand horizontally, and an invisible ripple spread from him; a different type of pressure spread in the surroundings. A condescending gaze filled with arrogance and infinite pride appeared on the face of Lucien; his aura covered the entire area, mixed with the arrogance of the dragon.

For a moment, a change occurred in everyone, almost as if they had lost their morale; there were obvious traces of fear in them, as if something superior and powerful was telling them that it was a very, very bad idea to attack them.

In truth, while many of the students were furious, most of them were not willing to do much for it, just as Axel and his 4 companions were doing an intimidation tactic to force them to step back a bit, and Axel could start the next process. So, most of the students only wanted to see Axel punished in some manner; that’s all.

Only those who were severely against Axel or Lucien wanted to do anything and everything in their power to have Axel expelled or something, maybe even having his Nexus core crippled.

So, most of the students stepped back from the combination of results produced by Heinz and Lucien; only those somewhat directly involved with the machinations remained at the front. Axel frowned, perhaps it wasn’t he who was being targeted, but perhaps through him they were actually targeting Lucien. Or maybe both actually.
