Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 142: Sorry, Brother..
Chapter 142: Sorry, Brother..
There were 10 different tables set up on the stage, each of them containing different types of weapons, with 10 different pseudo runic weapons in each container. He briefly explained the abilities or effects of each of the tools.
When that was over, he announced the price of each weapon to everyone, and it was 50 mana crystals, double the price of the first time he sold. Everyone frowned hearing that, but no one uttered any objection. Those who were privileged to buy today already expected something like that to happen. And to them who were among the best of the best, they had hunted so many creatures that they were utterly loaded, you would never be in a shortage of wealth within the academy as long as you have enough strength, that’s an undeniable truth.
But unlike the last time when he sold the weapons, this time all the participants were allowed to buy as many as they wanted. So, one after another, each category of weapons was being sold, and the prices kept increasing since the students here all had more than enough money to throw around. Eventually, the auction concluded, but pretty much all the weapons ended up in the hands of a small number of people.
And he would have normally gotten 5000 mana crystals for 100 weapons, each priced at 50. But he got a little more than 10,000 mana crystals. Damn, for a moment he felt like a rich tycoon, but shook his head at that thought, Lucien was also among the few who bought weapons from him in the largest quantity.
After the event was over, Axel, alongside Heinz, Lumina, and Vyra, were heading towards an engraving room. Heinz asked with annoyance, "I can’t believe you just earned 10,000 mana crystals in one fell swoop."
Axel shook his head, "You’re not considering the amount of effort I needed to put in to get as good as I am now."
Lumina chimed in and added, "That’s right, Heinz, you should think how much work he had to do to reach this level."
"Tsk, tsk, quite eager to defend Axel aren’t you?" asked Vyra without hesitation.
Lumina only snorted at that. She was already used to those kinds of snarky remarks being addressed to her all the time, and she was unaffected. The same was for Axel. Heinz said in distaste, "Hmph, you two are no fun, it was much fun back then, when both of you’re faces would turn red with even the smallest remarks."
They all entered a certain engraving room, and there was a reason he brought all three of them here. He asked all of them after taking a seat, "So, what kind of tools do each of you want? Tell me the details, Heinz, you first."
A trace of excitement appeared on the face of all three of them hearing that, Heinz nodded and spoke, "At first, I thought I might need a great sword, since its something that could still be used when activating my Sage aspect, but I’ve changed my mind, I think I will need a dual purpose spear."
Axel frowned hearing that, he tilted his head silently, asking for further clarification, to which his friend continued, "What I mean by a dual purpose spear is something that can work perfectly when using the warlord aspect as a melee weapon, but transform into a magic staff when using the Sage aspect."
Axel raised an eyebrow at that complicated requirement of his friend. He shook his head, "As much as I would like to brag about my expertise on runecasting, hybrid artifacts are beyond me at the moment. I will make you a spear, it would be mostly for your warlord aspect, but I can add a few small things to it, for which you would still be able to use it as a weapon while using the sage aspect."
Axel then turned towards Vyra, who was waiting for this and told him, "2 short swords for two hands, I should be able to coat them with various alchemical materials, and it should amplify those properties."
He nodded and then finally turned towards Lumina. She said after some deliberation, "Since I am a magic branch specialist, an Arcane Runecaster, I guess for combat purposes, I only need something that boosts my magic for the arcane aspect, maybe as an accessory."
Then they began to talk more in detail about how they want it to be, the specifics in general. After the details were checked out, he told them bluntly, "It will take quite a while to make these things, probably one or two months in total, don’t ask anything about it or expect any news about it till then, do you understand?"
All of them nodded to that.

"So, what happened between you two?" asked Heinz.
After Axel finished listening to their requirements and giving them an idea about how long it would take to make their corresponding weapons, the two girls left since it was becoming a bit late. Only Heinz was left for chatting a bit, Axel then began to explain what happened in the conversation between the two of them, he didn’t hide anything, he also revealed how he was in love with his childhood friend to an extremely possessive and unhealthy degree, and how she died one day.
A part of him wanted to tell him the full truth, but in the end, he decided against it, just wasn’t the time. One day in the future, he will tell him everything. Heinz listened attentively to everything with a serious expression on his face. After Axel said everything he had to say, Heinz remained silent for a while. He honestly didn’t know what to say.
On one hand, he felt sorry for his friend, but on the other hand, his love for her wasn’t exactly rosy and innocent love, but rather something much dark and one-sided, it was a good thing he never tried to force his feelings onto her, otherwise, he might not be able to see his friend the same way anymore. He also had certain standards and morals he wasn’t willing to cross.
He said with a grimace, "I’m more pissed that you didn’t tell me this first, and revealed it to Lumina first that you were already madly in love with your childhood friend?"
Axel showed a sad smile, "It’s not something easy for me to talk about.
Heinz asked after some hesitation, "How did she die?"
A slight frown appeared on Axel’s face as he simply stated, "Accident."
Heinz nodded and, seeing his slight frown when asking about it, he did not ask for further details, so he asked for something else, "What’s her name?"
He lingered for a bit, then said with a defeated sigh, "Sophia."
Heinz stammered and looked at him in disbelief, for a moment he thought if the entire thing was a total joke or something, but seeing the sadness in his eyes, he could not help but say it, "So, that’s the reason you always seem so apprehensive about her? and What are the chances that the Valkyrie had the same name?"
Axel shook his head. He knew what his friend was implying and said, his voice wavering, "I know, what you’re thinking, it’s not, she is not her, she is not my Sophia."
"I can’t say I know how you feel, since I never felt that way myself, deeply in love with someone, but I’m sorry for you, brother," exclaimed Heinz in a tone of consolation.
