Chapter 141: Weapon Auction

Axel nodded, "That’s right, you have to align it with one of the three absolute runes concepts, or something similar, even if barely, and if you can do that, everything will click into place as if it was always supposed to. So, when you craft a weapon while keeping this fact in mind, the rune-engraved tools will have actual abilities, not mere gimmicks in the name of it."

"If you remember the abilities of the 3 types of fire weapons which I sold at that time, one was ashen flame, which turns everything to ash, corresponding to the concept of existence. One was scorching flame, which causes pain corresponding to the concept of non-existence as pain is something abstract, not physical, and the flame of transmutation is something that indicates change, thus corresponding to the idea of Eternity."

Lumina absorbed all the information, and they discussed the topic further, going back and forth. Eventually, Lumina had had enough, and she stormed out of the engraving room.

A few days passed, the professor surprisingly did not question Axel again about it, but rather he was able to draw a rough conclusion to some things on his own and explained it to the class that Axel tried to align each of his pseudo runes and their engravement to one of the three absolute runes and their concepts. Of course, it was one thing to know how to cross a dangerous and dark forest and another thing to actually be able to cross it.

One of the reasons why Axel didn’t mind revealing this much information is that even if they did know this, they wouldn’t be able to produce the same results as him; he just had too much advantage in his bag as a runecaster, no one could compare.

Heck, let alone produce the same results as him, the things he sold were among his lowest quality of weapons, and they won’t even be able to produce something close to even that. Only Taser Vex and Lumina can produce something close to that, but they still would remain inferior.

Then it was finally time to sell his 2nd batch of weapons, and this time he had already informed everyone, pretty much all the students of the academy knew of it. It would be like a public auction, almost. The weapons he sold for the first time, there were several students among the 50 who got the weapon and were from humble backgrounds, they resold his weapons at a high price, for exaggerated rumors were being spread to all.

To Axel’s own surprise, not only did all the students from his own gold section come, but also many students from the other 3 sections also came. More than 50% of the 1200 students had actually come to the event of his weapon sale. He chuckled, Now it’s going to be fun. There were many academy staffs and few professors at one side, who were far in corner, who came to witness the first biggest commotion of the academy, which is not caused by any event of the academy itself, rather a mere weapon selling event organized by one runecaster, it was unprecedented, that something which happened for the first in the entire glorious history of the academy itself.

Because of the sheer scale of the audience, Axel had no choice but to erect a large stage on the high ground, so that everything would be visible to everyone. But before the event day itself, he had told everyone that anyone who wished to buy the weapons from him on that day must contact him in advance.

So, right in front of the stage there was a separate section where 150 students were seated, only they could buy weapons from him today, the others simply came to watch the show, but it was obvious that most did not know about this fact, some of the students especially those from the other sections became outraged hearing that they could not buy the rune engraved weapons. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

They even tried to start fights multiple times, trying to ruin his image or the event itself, but the academy staff, acting like security guards all around the event, kept things in check and cordially punished anyone wishing to cause trouble. Axel wasn’t on the stage yet; there were three people there. Heinz, Lumina, and Vyra are setting things up for, making the stage for his entry, that is. This all looked kind of fancy. Since his three friends helped him set up the whole thing using various magics, and it was easy to forget that Heinz actually had a 4-star magic branch aspect, the highest one at that.

Now he was slowly starting to focus on magic, and truly, Axel had to admit the Sage aspect was worthy of being the highest caliber of magic aspect; it was utterly broken, in its own right. Heinz, alongside Lumina, did most of the work with complicated magic with relative ease.

Slowly, Axel ascended onto the stage as the host and seller of the event, as well as the runecaster responsible for the creation of the weapons. The sound of his steady steps resonated with everyone as a spell was cast on him, which amplified all the sounds around him. All the chattering voices slowly died down, hearing that sound of footsteps. In the front row were all the top-ranking students, not only from the gold section, but from the three other sections as well.

It was a monumental achievement that Axel had managed to bring out all those students to be lined up here and be seated, waiting for the auction of his weapons to begin. The rune-engraved tools Axel was selling now weren’t the best in any way in the academy; there were many weapons for their levels in the academy vaults that were far superior.

But it was the allure of having a runic weapon, which was known to be the most long-lasting and efficient. His full figure was finally revealed to everyone, he wore rune embraided clothes with a mix of white and blue patterns, his blue eyes and blue hair coupled with his extremely handsome visage and perfect body structure, created a captivating scene for the ladies as they looked at him with lovestruck gaze, he glanced around one more time and grimaced internally, ’It has become far too flashy, I’m never doing this shit like this ever again.’

He saw the 4th prince right in the front row, and so was Thorian Blackvale and many other important and high-profile students, the valkyrie didn’t come, obviously. It seems his weapons, perhaps, weren’t good enough to warrant her interest, whatever he shrugged to himself.

He announced loudly, directing his voice towards everyone equally through masterfully controlling his mana. "Hello everyone, thank you very much for showing such interest in my craft, I greatly appreciate it."

He let his first words settle down on everyone’s mind for a moment, then stated again in a light-hearted tone, "As much as I would like to speak boldly, and make a show with dramatic speech and show each category of my weapons with great showmanship, I would rather not waste everyone’s time anymore. So I will simply get into it. Without further ado."

This statement brought a wave of chuckles from all the students in general who came here, thus lightening the mood a bit as well.
