Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch-Chapter 51: End Of the First Incident (2)
Damien, despite not being able to use mana and having strain on his body, still moved.
He was slowly getting better at moving his body after resting for a while. So fighting physically without any mana was possible for him.
CLANG!
The man in front of him was really strong, but not so strong that he couldn’t be killed.
The problem was that the man was so experienced and skilled at fighting that landing a fatal hit on him was nearly impossible.
Whether they attacked at the same time or tried another plan to attack him, Petrick always dodged or blocked all attacks that were harmful to him.
Now, after what Noah said about him using his lifespan, Petrick’s overall strength had increased.
As Noah had told Damien, he told Regnar in short what to do while fighting.
Regnar’s condition was very bad. A slash on his front, cuts all over his body. He had taken a lot of damage but avoided most of the life-taking strikes.
While Draven was still standing tall despite being injured so much. His will to fight only intensified further as he fought someone stronger than himself. That’s how Barbarians actually were. They did not give up until the end.
Now, with the involvement of Arisha and Damien, it became harder once again for Petrick to kill Draven and Regnar.
Damien’s blade clashed against Petrick’s dagger coated with black smoky darkness.
Damien’s muscles bulged at the strong force he was feeling from Petrick’s attack.
A kick landed on Damien’s already weak body.
"Gahh!!" He was thrown back and rolled on the ground.
Three arrows made up of water, thin and sharp, shot toward Petrick.
He sidestepped, ducked, and slashed the last one.
Draven, with a bloodied face, moved closer to him with full rage.
"Arreghh!" He screamed like giving a battle cry. His face had several cuts, cheeks bruised. Blood was dripping from his mouth.
Despite all of this, the courage to fight never went down.
Yet Petrick beat the three of them badly.
Damien, Draven, and Regnar were all injured more and more as the fight continued.
Petrick’s dagger slashed at Draven’s shoulder, at Damien’s knee, and a kick landed on Regnar’s chest where a diagonal cut was formed.
Despite that, no one died.
Because Arisha saved them from a distance each time Petrick tried to attack with a strike that might kill someone. She supported them and covered them again and again.
Her breathing was ragged. Her fingers were slightly bleeding from using the bow. More than anything, her mana was near its limit.
Petrick tried to attack Damien at his neck.
Airsha pulled the string of her bow, a pure blue color arrow form immediately. It trembled. Still she released it as the arrow shot towards Petrick’s arm.
Which made him turned his dagger trajectory towards the arrow. Because of that Damien stepped away from him.
But that was last. Finally Arisha dropped on one knee exhausted. She was hoping this battle would end quickly.
While others were fighting, Noah got near them and then waved at Damien, giving him a signal that it was time.
Damien nodded in understanding. He moved faster with his injured body. Pain shot through all over, yet he moved.
Petrick had just clashed an attack with Draven when Damien moved and took the chance. He then yelled at Regnar, who was on his left side.
"Now!"
When Damien said that, Regnar extended both his hands, letting his hammer fall on the road. He conjured two magic spells at the same time. Grey magic circles appeared in front of his arms.
From Regnar’s left side came Noah. He had taken his spear again in his right hand. His left hand extended as he started to channel mana to conjure a magic spell that he had never used before. The spell was snow mist.
Damien closed in and took the chance to grab one of Petrick’s arms from the shoulder. The strength in Petrick was too much to hold him properly for Damien.
"Argh! What are you doing, boy!" Petrick asked with his dark eyes glaring at him dangerously.
When Petrick tried to move his right hand to kill Damien with his dagger, at that time Draven held him in the same way, letting his battle axe fall.
"Not so fast!" Draven said.
While Regnar’s spells were conjured. He was just a few meters away from the three. The spells were Sound Burst,
[Sound Burst]
As loud sound waves burst from the magic circles toward Petrick’s face, and he was hit by them.
Everything happened too fast. Just a few seconds ago Petrick was held by the other two.
Just then the spell was launched at him.
Both attacks hit Petrick on his face perfectly.
Petrick’s head was thrown back by the impact of the sound wave.
"ARRGGHHHH!!!" Petrick screamed.
His ears were ringing and he could not hear anything for a while. His brain throbbed, not understanding what was happening around him.
Yet he still held his dagger firmly in both hands, not letting them fall down.
Just like him, Draven and Damien were hit slightly by the attack. Both of them left Petrick’s body and got away while covering their ears.
Arisha wanted to shoot an arrow at him while he was defenseless.
But she was at her limit.
They also felt similar to Petrick, but not as much as him.
At that moment, Noah forced himself to form the spell.
’Damn! I thought she might attack him... and kill him... but I guess she’s at her limit... now I have to try this idiotic plan of mine.’ He thought with annoyance.
Mana began flowing through his mana veins, moving from his core, through his arm, and into his palm. He could feel the cold energy gathering at his fingertips as he tried to control the flow.
In front of his hand, thin snow-blue lines began to appear in the air, forming the structure of a magic circle he had memorized long ago. The lines connected one by one, forming symbols, runic patterns, and mana pathways.
But the moment the circle began to stabilize, it started trembling.
The lines flickered. Then the patterns inside flickered. The mana pathways became uneven. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The circle was unstable.
Noah immediately understood the problem. The mana input was inconsistent, the flow speed was wrong, and some pathways were receiving too much mana while others were receiving too little.
In a normal situation, a mage would stop the spell immediately.
But Noah didn’t. He just couldn’t.
’I am not giving up here.’ His eyes filled with determination.
He gritted his teeth and forced more mana into the circle.
’I cannot stop now... I want to use it no matter what!’ He encouraged himself.
The snow-blue circle brightened violently as more mana was pushed into it. The unstable pathways began to crack, glowing brighter and brighter as the structure failed to handle the pressure. It shook uncontrollably.
"Form... already!" he shouted.
