Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch-Chapter 23: Causing Trouble On First Day (3)
Mana exploded from Noah’s body. Both his fists collided against each other, making a loud sound.
BAM!
While trying many things with his Ice Creation ability over the past few days, he had also tried forming gauntlets. They were much easier to create compared to a sword or spear. Also, for some reason, he could handle the coldness against his skin without any problem.
The trio summoned their weapons.
Tetsu was holding a bow with an arrow on its string. Edward held a greatsword, while Richard had a spear. Mana trembled around the three of them.
Oddly, Noah didn’t feel any fear. Instead, he felt slightly angry and wanted to beat the three of them.
"Come at me!"
Noah kicked off the ground and dashed forward. He lunged into the air toward the trio. With a crazed grin, he lifted his fist at Edward. Edward stepped back instantly.
BOOM!
Noah’s fist struck the floor, and a crack formed on the ground from the impact.
Noah didn’t waste time and quickly looked up.
The trio hadn’t attacked him. For some reason, they hadn’t reacted to him at all.
They were surprised and looking straight. No... not straight. They were looking past Noah.
Now his expression turned confused. Before he could think further, a strong force collided with him from behind.
"Gah!"
Pain shot through his back from the impact. Noah immediately fell to the floor on his front.
THUD!
Instantly, someone grabbed both his hands from behind and locked them together against his back with a strong grip.
He was pressed down by someone, his right cheek pushed against the cold floor.
He could feel the weight of someone on his body.
"First day... and already causing trouble at the academy. You juniors are really something."
A feminine voice came from behind rather, from above Noah.
"Se-Senior... it’s not what you think! This guy was the first one to attack us," Edward defended himself the moment he saw the senior intervene.
"Yes, he’s right. We are innocent here."
"We are not wrong."
Noah understood the situation.
’Damn! Why am I the one getting subdued? I am alone while they are three.’
"It doesn’t matter who started it. You all fought, so you are all responsible for the mess you created here. Now follow me quietly!"
The trio put their weapons back into their storage rings.
"Yes, Ma’am!"
"Yes, Ma’am!"
"Yes, Ma’am!"
They answered in unison.
Noah also dismissed his ice gauntlets. Cracks appeared on them, and soon they shattered into tiny ice particles.
Seeing that, the woman who had subdued him finally released her grip.
Noah immediately felt lighter, realizing the heavy weight on his body was gone.
He pushed himself up and finally saw the person who had done this to him.
He was surprised.
She was a young woman, around 164 cm tall. Her frame leaned toward the petite side.
Yet the force Noah had felt from her was terrifying. He couldn’t even move when she had subdued him.
She had medium-length brown hair and eyes of the same color.
She was looking at him with cold eyes, her hands folded under her chest.
"Let’s go."
Noah didn’t say anything and followed her.
The trio followed behind them.
---
Inside the cabin of Instructor Morgana Celestine.
Five students were standing in front of her desk.
One of them was wearing a second-year uniform, showing that she was a second-year student.
The other four were first-year students.
The four young men’s uniforms were messy.
Edward had a bruise on his left cheek, as if someone had punched him hard.
Richard was holding his belly with a slightly painful expression.
Meanwhile, Tetsu kept shaking his leg from time to time as if it was hurting. He was trying to adjust to the pain.
The fourth student was a handsome young man she recognized.
He had a bruise on his cheek, though not as severe as Edward’s. Despite that, he was standing normally.
Morgana knew this young man.
He was a student in her class. Someone she had spoken to just an hour ago during training.
On Noah’s side, he remained calm on the outside.
But inside, he was anything but calm. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
’Dammit... everything is a mess. I thought I had made a good impression on the instructor during training... but now it’s ruined again.’
He glanced at the senior who had brought him here.
She had a badge of the Discipline Committee, which operated under the Student Council. A large unit responsible for handling fights in the academy, rule violations, and similar matters.
Noah wondered why this woman had brought him to Morgana instead of taking them directly to the leader of the Discipline Committee.
"According to these three students, Noah attacked them first. And he is your student, Instructor Morgana. Usually I would have taken them to the council, but since it’s the first day, I thought it would be better to bring them to you. This way, you can handle the matter involving your own student rather than them being punished by the council on the first day."
Morgana nodded.
"It’s good that you did that, Ria."
"Instructor Morgana, don’t let Noah get away with this! Look at what he has done. He beat us without thinking at all. Fighting is not allowed in the academy unless it’s a spar or an official challenge. Yet he attacked us—"
Morgana raised her hand, stopping him before he could continue.
"I get it."
Her violet eyes shifted toward Noah.
"Noah Eldritch... don’t you know that fighting on campus is prohibited? Haven’t you read the guidelines?"
Noah nodded.
"Yes. I read them."
"Then why did you do this?"
"...Well, they were mocking me... insulting me... so I checked what action I could take against them. At that time, I saw a rule stating that if a fight breaks out on campus, the student who started it will receive punishment. If it’s the first offense, only a certain number of credit points are deducted. Nothing serious."
Noah looked to the side, avoiding her dangerous gaze.
"So... I thought losing a few credit points wasn’t a big deal. So I beat them."
When he finished speaking, everyone in the room looked at him in surprise.
Even Morgana seemed slightly stunned by his reasoning.
