Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 221: I will make sure you die, once and for all
The group returned to camp as the sun was already touching the horizon. The sky took on a deep orange hue, and the daytime heat began to recede, gradually replaced by a coolness drifting down from the canyon heights. Although the sand still held the warmth accumulated during the afternoon, the air was finally becoming more breathable, relieving lungs irritated by the dust.
Kaiser walked last, at a good distance from the others, as he had grown accustomed to doing for a long time. His black coat was stained with dried blood, with splatters that soiled the sleeves and the hem of the fabric. His silver hair stuck together in thick clumps, matted by the same greenish blood of the sand worms he had fought earlier.
He said nothing and looked at no one, preferring to keep his thoughts to himself. He crossed the camp at a steady pace, heading straight toward the area where the water points had been set up, near the supplies.
He removed his coat in one motion and let it fall onto the sand. Underneath, he wore a simple fitted black tank top that emphasized his shoulders. After washing himself thoroughly, he decided to go to where Helia was. Several gazes followed him as he moved between the tents, but he paid no attention to them. When suddenly Allister stepped forward and planted himself in front of him, deliberately blocking the way.
Kaiser stopped dead. He raised his eyes toward him, his face perfectly neutral, showing no particular expression.
"What do you want, man?" he asked in a tired voice.
Allister gave a slight shrug, a half-smile on his lips.
"Not much. I’m just surprised, that’s all," he said simply. "I didn’t know you were that strong."
Kaiser let out a small snort through his nose, like a mockery.
"They’re just basic moves. Nothing special."
"Wouldn’t you want to train with me? Someday, whenever you have time. I’d like to see what you’ve really got in you."
"Nah, man. Too lazy," Kaiser replied. For now Kaiser suspected he could beat Allister, even if it would be an extremely difficult fight.
He stepped around him without waiting for a reply and continued on his way. Allister watched him for a few seconds, shrugged in turn, then went back toward the sentries without pressing further, while still keeping an eye on him.
Could he let him be alone with his dear Helia? Obviously not, he had to protect her as the shitty sis-con he was.
Kaiser walked straight toward the main tent, the one Helia had occupied since the beginning of the expedition. Through the raised canvas opening, a small folding table had been set up in the center.
Helia was sitting there, bent with concentration over a chessboard. She was playing against herself, alternately moving the white and black pieces in a silence broken only by the discreet clack of wood against wood. Her hair fell in straight strands on each side of her focused face, framing features drawn by fatigue.
Kaiser stopped at the entrance. She didn’t look up right away, too absorbed. He waited a few seconds, observing her moves, then entered silently. He approached the table, and just as Helia advanced a black knight to threaten a rook, he reached over her shoulder and moved a white bishop. The move blocked her queen and suddenly reversed the balance of power on the board.
Helia gave a slight start. She snapped her head up, eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"What the hell are you doing here?" she asked, her voice thick with disgust.
"I was just wondering what a person as intelligent as you is doing helping Olivia when she clearly has no interest in helping anyone," Kaiser said, sketching a smile, a smile that completely caught her off guard.
Helia remained motionless. Her expression didn’t change immediately.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked in a tone meant to sound detached.
He slowly leaned toward her. Bringing his mouth close to her right ear, close enough for her to feel his breath, and whispered:
"Me, who helps Cleopatra even though she brings me nothing... So what interest does Seraph Jophiel have in being here?"
A heavy silence settled between them. Helia stopped moving entirely. Her pupils dilated for a fraction of a second, betraying her disturbance despite herself. No one, absolutely no one, knew that identity. She slowly turned her head toward him. A black shadow passed over her face, something dangerous that promised nothing good.
"Do you want to die, Kaiser?" she asked in an icy voice while moving a pawn.
Kaiser calmly straightened up, shrugged nonchalantly and sat down across from her without being invited.
"Well, not right now," he said.
He observed the chessboard for a moment, studying the position of the pieces, then moved a white pawn forward one square, with a precise gesture.
"It’s been nagging at me for a while," he continued calmly, eyes still fixed on the board.
"What is the Seraph of Wisdom doing with Olivia? Because honestly, you have zero interest in helping her with what she’s doing. Supporting Julius would be way more promising. Unlike me, who’s only helping her so I can fuck her."
Helia bit the inside of her lip. Her face grew even harder. Her cheeks hollowed slightly under the tension of her clenched jaw.
"Pfff..." Kaiser let out a short, dry laugh. "I see... I see..."
Kaiser couldn’t help but laugh, unable to hide his amusement.
"If you could see your filthy angel face right now... Hahaha... is it because you fell in love with her?"
Helia blinked several times in quick succession. Surprise openly crossed her gaze before she managed to put her impassive mask back on. She hadn’t expected him to go that far, that directly.
"Tch..." she hissed between her teeth, a sound of disapproval mixed with frustration.
"I’ll give you that, you’ve seen right through my identity... But love? Mortals have such futile emotions and you think that kind of thing interests me?"
Kaiser tilted his head to the side, visibly amused by the situation.
"You’re serious?" he said, a mocking smile on his lips. "Ahaha... I was just saying it to test, but I didn’t know it was actually true."
"There’s nothing funny about this," Helia snapped back sharply. She shot him a dark glare.
"It’s really too bad, I would’ve bet my hand on it though..." Kaiser said, shrugging with provocative indifference.
He advanced his knight with a quick move, taking a black rook without even blinking.
"I’ve already tasted Cleopatra’s lips," he added in the tone of casual conversation. "And I have to admit... it’s really exquisite. I suppose even an angel would want to try that delicious treat~"
This time, Helia completely lost control... she was extremely and dangerously calm, showing no reaction at all, and at that moment... Kaiser knew he had pushed the boundaries just a tiny bit too far.
"I will make sure you die, once and for all."
"Huh? "
Helia lowered her eyes to the board as she moved her simple rook, putting Kaiser in checkmate. Kaiser had only wanted to test her, to see if his suspicions were founded, but... he had teased her way too much.
"Kaiser... or rather, should I say Sulyvhan..."
"Huh???!!! "
