Chapter 383: Chapter 384: Drinking Wine Like It’s Juice

Tong Keke looked at the rich, fragrant orange chicken soup, took a sip with her spoon, and found the taste to be just as good as she remembered.

"Uncle, do we have any candles at home?" Tong Keke suddenly realized something seemed to be missing and lifted her gaze, looking expectantly at the man.

Gu Qianxi chuckled softly and reached out to pat her little head, "What are you thinking? Hurry up and eat!"

"No way, no candlelit dinner? Such a shame!" Tong Keke pouted her little lips, but truth be told, her uncle’s cooking was delicious.

Gu Qianxi smiled indulgently and sat down beside her to start eating.

"Wait, Uncle, we don’t have wine!" Tong Keke suddenly blinked her big mischievous eyes. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Gu Qianxi’s handsome brows furrowed slightly, and he said sternly, "You’re too young, no drinking allowed!"

"Uncle, that’s not true. You promised me in the car that I could have a glass!" Tong Keke felt instantly cheated, her little mouth puffing up in displeasure.

Gu Qianxi really couldn’t handle her, so he stood up with his tall figure, walked over to the wine cabinet, and took out a bottle of low-alcohol red wine.

He uncorked it, poured half a glass into a wine glass, and handed it to the little rascal in front of him, "Here, drink!"

"Thank you, Uncle!" Tong Keke’s happiness was always so simple.

Gu Qianxi sighed lightly, his deep gaze fixed on Tong Keke’s bright little face. Seeing her lips curve into a light smile, he inexplicably felt a surge of warmth spreading in his chest, as if a fire had been lit.

Tong Keke tentatively took a small sip, smacking her lips, "It’s sweet! Just like fruit juice. Uncle, do we have more of this kind of wine? I thought wine was supposed to be bitter and spicy, hard to swallow."

Tong Keke, like a child tasting alcohol for the first time, was filled with curiosity and delighted surprise.

She had mentally prepared herself for a difficult taste, yet surprisingly, this wine was even sweeter than she had imagined.

She polished off the half glass in an instant and promptly held the glass out, her beautiful eyes brimming with eager pleading, "Uncle, pour me another glass, please. It’s really delicious!"

"No more! This wine can make you drunk!" Gu Qianxi hadn’t expected the little troublemaker to get hooked on it so quickly. In hindsight, he should have picked a dry and harsh wine for her — that way, she surely wouldn’t have wanted to drink anymore.

"Uncle, you’re so stingy. It’s just a bottle of wine, and you won’t even let me drink!" Tong Keke thought Gu Qianxi was hoarding his wine out of sentimentality.

"Keke, wine isn’t good for you. As a young lady, you need to understand moderation, alright? It’s not that I don’t want to let you drink — you really can’t have any more. I’m afraid you’ll get drunk!" Gu Qianxi said, utterly exasperated.

"Just one more glass, I’m begging you, Uncle. Look at me — do I look drunk at all?" Tong Keke stretched out her small hand, gently grabbing the man’s solid arm and shaking it lightly, "Come on, give me more!"

The little rascal tilted her head, her long hair swaying back and forth with graceful arcs as she moved.

Her soft, murmured words were like feathers brushing against Gu Qianxi’s heart, stirring feelings within him.

His thin lips pressed tightly together, but faced with her dreamy, pleading eyes, he finally relented and poured her another half glass.

Tong Keke knew she could definitely coax another half glass out of him. She happily held onto it, her eyes filled with joy.

Gu Qianxi sat next to her, watching her beam like a child who had been given candy, and he couldn’t help but curve his lips into a smile.

"Eat a bit more before drinking, otherwise it’ll hurt your stomach!" He quickly added more food to the little rascal’s bowl.

Tong Keke obediently nodded her head — whatever her uncle picked for her, she would eat it all.
