Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 81: Pain So Deep She Can’t Breathe
Chloe Nash was so nervous that even her hair was trembling.
If Silas Prescott opened it, he would see the photos of her and her son.
Everything would return to the starting point.
She would be locked in that suffocating cage again, kept like a pet by Silas Prescott.
From then on, there would be no freedom, no friends, only Silas Prescott’s endless possession of her.
Thinking of this, Chloe Nash trembled all over.
In a hurry, she grabbed the necklace and yanked it off with force.
Because she used too much strength, the skin on her neck was broken and bleeding.
Seeing her like this, Silas Prescott dared not insist any further.
He quickly let go of his hand, stared at the red marks on her neck, and said, "Don’t worry, I won’t look, is that okay?"
Seeing him let go, Chloe Nash quickly clutched the necklace in her palm.
But the tension was too overwhelming, and she couldn’t control her emotions anymore.
She put the bowl of soup on the table and turned to walk into the bathroom.
The moment the bathroom door closed, Chloe Nash could no longer hold back.
Her back slowly slid down the door panel until she sat on the ground.
She tightly covered the pendant, muttering "I’m sorry" constantly.
The person she felt sorriest for in her life was her son.
Because she feared being taken back by Silas Prescott, she spent her entire pregnancy in a war zone.
When she was pregnant, she didn’t provide her son with a better living environment, nor with the necessary nutrition.
She barely managed to give birth to him, but failed to protect him, letting him die in a foreign land.
Not even a trace of his ashes could be found.
Fearful of being discovered by Silas Prescott, she didn’t dare to set up a tombstone for her son so he could rest in peace.
She could only commemorate him in this way.
Thinking of these things, Chloe Nash’s heart felt like it was stabbed by countless knives.
The pain was so intense that she could hardly breathe.
The pain of losing her son was something she could never forget in her life.
This pain was like a thorn, deeply embedded in the depths of her heart, and every time she thought of it, she hurt once more.
She couldn’t completely blame this pain on Silas Prescott, yet she couldn’t forget it either and return to him.
Because Silas Prescott’s obsession made her lose her most beloved son.
She didn’t want to lose the people she cared about most because of him again.
Seeing that Chloe Nash hadn’t come out for a long time, Silas Prescott sensed the gravity of the situation.
Enduring the pain, he forced himself to sit up from the bed.
He slowly walked to the bathroom door.
He knocked once on the door and softly called out, "Chloe."
Hearing him call her at the door, Chloe Nash quickly gathered all her emotions and opened the door.
"Who told you to get out of bed? Go back quickly."
Silas Prescott grasped her wrist, his eyes full of guilt.
"Chloe, I’m sorry, I was just curious, I didn’t mean to hurt you."
Chloe Nash nodded slightly, "I know, go back to bed and lie down."
Silas Prescott looked at her pitifully, "Will you leave me alone?"
He had risked his life for a chance to be with her and didn’t want to lose it just like that.
Chloe Nash shook her head, "No, you got hurt because of my father, I won’t leave you alone on that account."
Although this wasn’t the reason Silas Prescott wanted, as long as she stayed, everything could be negotiated.
He led Chloe Nash by the hand to the bedside and picked up the burn ointment he had just asked the nurse for.
"You burned your hand; let me apply some medicine for you."
"No need, I can do it myself."
Chloe Nash wanted to pull back her hand, but Silas Prescott held it tightly, looking at her earnestly.
"If you don’t let me, then it means you’re still blaming me."
Seeing his persistence, Chloe Nash couldn’t say anything more.
She could only watch as he squeezed a little ointment and applied it to the back of her hand.
Then he gently smeared it with his warm fingertips.
Blowing cool air as he applied.
His actions were gentle, and his eyes full of heartache.
As if he was utterly in love with the woman before him.
Stella Sterling stood at the door, seeing this scene, and angrily clutched the flowers in her arms.
Chloe Nash, Brother Silas is mine, I won’t let you steal him away.
