Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 80: "Silas Prescott, Let Go of Me!
Hearing this news, Chloe was a bit hesitant too.
With Albie around, she at least had someone to help her out.
But she couldn’t hold Albie back—he’d already helped her so much since coming back this time.
Chloe shook her head and said, "Julian’s right in the middle of a critical phase of treatment. I can’t suddenly leave now. Don’t worry, I’ll be careful."
Albie was still uneasy: "If anything happens, you have to call me. If Silas finds out about your identity, I’ll help you escape immediately. I won’t let him hurt you again."
"I know. Hurry and pack. I’ll drive you guys to the airport."
After seeing Albie and Fries off, Chloe drove to the hospital.
Silas spotted her, and an unreadable smile flashed across his face.
"Dr. Nash, your husband promised to take care of me. Why did he ditch me?"
Chloe met Silas Prescott’s dark eyes and asked, "Was everything at his company your doing?"
Silas put on an innocent expression, "Dr. Nash, why do you always think the worst of me?"
Chloe’s hand tightened, "It’d better not be you. Otherwise, our agreement is off—I’ll return to my country immediately."
If Silas traced Albie, he’d be able to trace her too.
If it really came to that, she’d have to leave.
After hearing these words, a cold chill slowly crept into Silas’s deep eyes.
"What if I don’t want to let you go?"
Chloe saw the familiar possessiveness in his eyes and nervously clenched her fist.
"Mr. Prescott, are you trying to make me a substitute for Sienna Paxton? Sorry, I’m Chloe, not the Sienna you’re looking for."
Silas stared at Chloe’s beautiful eyes, lips curling in a half-smile.
"Dr. Nash, why are you so heartless? My wound really hurts. Can’t you say something sweet to comfort me?"
He sounded so pitiful and innocent, and the coldness in his eyes was suddenly replaced by a sadness he couldn’t hide.
Chloe couldn’t help but feel sympathetic.
After all, Silas Prescott was injured trying to save her father; after all, he’d been her beloved older brother for so many years.
There was no need to be so harsh about it.
She looked down and said softly, "My mom made chicken soup. Will you drink it?"
"I will." Silas replied quickly, "But my wound hurts so much, I can’t sit up. I want you to feed me." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Chloe didn’t refuse—she owed Silas this much. Looking after him was her responsibility.
Otherwise, her father would keep blaming himself.
She poured out a bowl from the thermos, scooped up a spoonful, and held it to Silas’s lips.
"Open your mouth."
Silas obediently opened his mouth and drank the soup.
And gave her full emotional value: "Auntie’s cooking is always delicious. She said I can ask for anything I want to eat. Dr. Nash, is that really true?"
There was a pleading note to his humility.
It made it impossible for Chloe to refuse. She nodded lightly, "You were injured saving my dad. Even if you wanted dragon meat, my mom would make it for you."
Chloe bent down and fed Silas another spoonful of soup.
The movement exposed the necklace she kept hidden at her neck.
It was a customized locket that could hold a photo.
On the oval silver pendant was engraved: My forever love.
Seeing those words, a dark chuckle rumbled from Silas’s throat.
He was determined to see who Chloe’s "forever love" really was.
He grabbed hold of Chloe’s necklace; just as he was about to yank it, Chloe piped up, nervous.
"Don’t touch it!"
Chloe was so anxious that she didn’t even feel the burning chicken soup spilled on her hand.
Inside that oval locket was a photo of her and her son.
She thought that as long as she wore it, her son up in heaven wouldn’t feel alone.
But this secret couldn’t be discovered by Silas.
Because the face in that photo was Sienna Paxton’s.
If Silas saw it, he’d be able to piece together the truth—that Chloe was actually Sienna.
She’d always kept the necklace well-hidden, even attached a clasp to lock it under her clothing.
Even during exercise, it wouldn’t fall out.
How could it just happen to come loose in front of Silas?
Chloe clutched Silas’s wrist tightly with her scalded, reddened hand.
Her eyes were red as she stared at him.
"Silas Prescott, let go!"
Seeing her get so anxious, Silas only smiled wider instead of releasing her.
"Why are you so nervous, Dr. Nash? I just want to see who’s inside."
As he spoke, he pressed his thumb against the locket’s clasp, trying to open it.
