Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Has Chloe Nash Forgotten All of This?

Chloe finally snapped out of it.

She looked down and saw Julian Prescott blinking his big eyes at her.

His gaze was full of pleading and pitifulness.

Facing this father and son, Chloe found herself unable to harden her heart and ignore them.

She gently pushed Silas Prescott’s shoulder: "Mr. Prescott, can you walk on your own? I can call Albie over to help you."

Silas barely lifted his eyelids, looking weak and exhausted.

"No need. Take me to the apartment. My grandpa would worry if he saw me like this."

"Alright, we’ll take you home."

Chloe and Lucy Rhodes each took one side, helping Silas along.

Julian acted like a little grown-up, helping Chloe carry her bag.

Seeing them come out, Albie Kane immediately walked over, carrying Fries in his arms.

"Chloe, does he faint at the sight of blood? You take care of Fries, I’ll help him."

Just moments ago, Silas looked very sickly; now, hearing this, he suddenly perked up.

He instantly intervened: "Fries is hurt, you should take care of him. I only need Dr. Nash."

Lucy Rhodes saw Albie hesitate, and quickly said, "My brother only got injured yesterday, he’s still not fully recovered. Mr. Kane, you take Fries home first. Dr. Nash and I will take my brother back."

Albie certainly understood what Silas was thinking.

This was his ploy to be alone with Chloe.

As if he’d let Chloe fall into the lion’s den again.

Albie smiled very gently, and took Silas’s arm from Chloe: "My wife is only looked after by me. How could she possibly be taking care of anyone else? Looking after people is my specialty. Come on, let’s take Mr. Prescott home together."

Seeing his plan fail, and hearing Albie call Chloe his wife over and over, Silas’s eyes began to ice over.

They brought Silas back to the apartment.

Albie, already making himself at home, rolled up his sleeves, "Chloe, come to the kitchen with me and help cook. Let the kids stay with Mr. Prescott. He’s been running around for Dad’s sake, and donated so much blood. We need to make something good for him to restore his energy."

Silas looked at the two kids with a gloomy, aggrieved expression: "Mr. Kane, are you really sure these two can take care of me?"

Before Albie could answer, both children eagerly nodded, and said together, "We can do it!"

Albie smiled: "Alright then, you two take good care of him. Mommy and I will go make dinner."

Seeing the two of them walk out ’shoulder to shoulder’, Silas gritted his teeth in frustration.

Just then, Chloe’s phone rang, and Silas picked it up and glanced at the screen.

The moment he saw the caller ID, the gloom in his eyes was replaced by a wicked smile.

He told Julian, "Go call your mom over, tell her it’s her phone, a very important person."

Julian, clueless to his dad’s little schemes,

instantly scampered off with his little legs: "Mom, phone, important person!"

Chloe hurried back to the room to answer.

When she saw who was calling, she knew Silas had done it on purpose.

But she didn’t show it, just picked up the phone and pressed answer.

Jett Sterling’s low, husky voice came from the other end.

"Chloe, do you remember Little Black? The puppy we raised together? She’s about to have puppies—you’re not coming to see her? She really misses you."

Hearing that, Chloe’s heart clenched tight.

She had no idea Chloe and Jett had ever raised a puppy together.

She was silent for a long while before finally replying, "Then take good care of her. I’ll come see her when I get a chance."

Hearing this, Jett’s knuckles whitened as he gripped the phone.

His heart felt like it was trembling.

The puppy he and Chloe raised wasn’t named Little Black, but Little White.

And it was a male. It couldn’t possibly have puppies.

Has Chloe really forgotten all these things?

Or... is she not Chloe at all?
