The demon roared a raging shout that sounded like a thunder which Uriel took as his cue to escape the basement through the duct. Up there, Luna waited patiently for the cryptid to appear wearing both her orichalcum claws and already in her werewolf form.

"It's coming, I got under its skin... literally." Uriel said with jagged breath as despite the stab he managed to land, his body was still tired due to the effort he put in the previous fight.

When the cryptid fell silent, they intently listened on every little sound they could hear finding out that instead of a stomping cryptid the sound of its footsteps was rather a scuttling sound that gave Uriel the creeps.

A dark hand poked through the dumbwaiter duct first, its uncannily long fingers holding on to the exit in turns like a tippling and then it pushed its body upward revealing the unsightly face up to that point only Uriel had been able to see.

"Anthropomorphic, fangs, two eyes, no ears..." Luna listed the cryptid's physical features in a deep growl at the same time she lashed out a flurry of attacks with the powerful orichalcum claws crafted by Medusa.

The cryptid writhed in pain unable to defend itself as it was trapped in the duct, yet not even the orichalcum claws were able to inflict enough damage to the cryptid and only painted a few scratches on its leathery skin without so much as drawing blood.

By the time Uriel was able to join in, the cryptid was already halfway out and thanks to its longer reach was able to grab him by the throat and throw him at a distance to direct its full attention to Luna who wouldn't give up in her desperate attempt to cause some damage at least.

The demon put its fingers together making its hand resemble a knife that went through Luna's stomach and while Uriel managed to cut the demonic hand in a single slash of his dagger, the damage was already done and Luna fell limp on the ground while the cryptid simply regenerated its hand like nothing had happened.

Without missing a beat, Uriel summoned his jaguar spirit grabbed Luna and ran away leaving the huge feline to deal with the foul demon.

"Hang on, you'll be alright." Uriel said as he retreated back to the reception hall where Nika remained with Alfaro.

To say Nika was angry when she saw Luna was hurt would be an understatement, but Uriel shook his head.

"That thing is too powerful, we can't defeat it as things are." Uriel said.

"Well, we can't run away either, that thing just closed the doors again and I can't blink outside." Nika informed, then Daniel, the monk who previously scammed them showed up.

"You can defeat it, you just need some help."

"You bastard!" Uriel said as he grabbed the man by the collar and pushed him to the wall.

"I'm here to help, I swear." The man said in a raspy voice.

"You say that after you tried to get us to sell you our souls!?" Nika walked in as she unholstered her revolver.

"She made me do it, I'm trapped here just as you are, but when I watched you fight that demon I realized not all hope is lost."

"How so? That thing beat the crap out of us." Uriel growled.

"If you let me go, I will show you where we keep all the religious artifacts." Daniel, the monk, said and albeit reluctant, Uriel did let him go and followed him to the same room behind the desk. He then pulled a lever and the wall in the back opened automatically.

"A secret door!" Uriel shouted.

"Silence, I'm trying to sleep." Luna, now in her human form blurted out then carried on snoring like a few seconds ago, though the sound of her usually loud snoring were muffled by the rain outside.

"Wait, we need to warn the people that there's a storm incoming," Alfaro blurted out as he slammed both hands in the desk then continued. "I've seen this weather pattern before and people have died. All the evidence points to this storm growing to become stronger than anything I've seen in my life and I don't want to think how many people will die."

"There's no reason to care for your beard if your head is about to be cut, especially if it's other people's beards." Uriel rebuked.

"Yeah, they will also be safe here. This place is built in stone, I don't think a few lightning bolts will cause much damage." Nika added.

"You don't get it, it's not the people in here that need to be warned, but the citizens of Sevilla. We're not that far from that city. Please, I just need one of you guys to come to my room and help me send a radio signal out there... that's all I ask." Alfaro said.

"Fine, I don't want thousands of deaths on my conscience anyway... Nika, you go while I take care of the rest and take Luna with you."

"You say that like you have a conscience." Nika chuckled and went on with Alfaro to his room.

The place was a mess and Nika thought for a second the demon could have thrashed the place like it did with the Defenders' room, but on a closer inspection she realized it looked more similar to Luna's room on the few occasions she had let her in. There were papers rolled onto balls flooding out from the trash can and the floor was littered with them, there were maps and graphic charts on the walls and the only tidy place was the desk were the radio equipment was along with a notebook.

Alfaro reached for the book and started jotting down the weather conditions in detail then handed the paper to Nika. "I need you to read this to the microphone while I man the radio"

"Are you sure the signal will even reach someone?" Nika tilted her head. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"I'm certain it will. I set up a couple relay points on the way to Sevilla and I've been in contact with them this entire time." Alfaro puffed out his chest with pride, then nodded at Nika to begin.

She could have limited herself to just reading the script the meteorologist prepared for her, but back when Alfaro interviewed her she finally understood the appeal of making a Vlog. For the longest time she had thought Uriel's habit was nothing but a silly hobby that would sometimes become helpful, though mostly for Luna's research. But now that she faced the possibility of communicating with thousands of people she decided to use some of what she learned by watching Uriel's Vlogs this time.

"Good morning citizens of Sevilla, this is Nika Garcia speaking and I'm here to bring you today's weather forecast. At any given day this would likely tell you if you need to bring a jacket or not, but I'm afraid that today the stakes are higher," She said in a cheerful tone of voice, then shifted into a serious one as she read the script given to her by Alfaro in both English and Spanish. "To anyone listening to this transmission, you need to look for shelter as a thunderstorm is coming to the city. This is an urgent message, spread it and make sure your loved ones are safe."

While this took place Uriel followed the monk to the hidden chamber that was filled with religious paraphernalia. Most of it were crosses, but there were also brass cups and small silver crucifixes. Uriel walked past all that as those were the symbols that likely failed the monks, but when he reached a stone fountain lying around in the corner his demeanor changed.

"Is this what I think it is?" Uriel asked, annoyed by Daniel's awkward silence, then he realized he was completely on his own. "Whatever, I'll just help myself then." Uriel grunted as he rummaged through the many artifacts complaining the entire time about the Franciscans since they had a vow of poverty which meant that nothing what he could possibly find would be valuable, not even historically.

"Of all the places this could have happened, it had to happen precisely at the one place where they actually followed their vows." He grunted as he pushed a pile of what couldn't be called other that just garbage. The sudden movement on the pile of trash caused something that had gone unnoticed up to that point to fall on the ground and break. It was an old photo frame with a black and white picture, where the first inhabitants of the monastery posed for a picture.

They were simple men dressed in their monk attire, each with a small wooden cross hanging on their necks. They bore gleeful smiles at the picture, except for one of the youngest who actually seemed bitter and looked the other way.

"I'll be damned!" Uriel uttered, his swearing causing a lightning bolt to strike the monastery, though Uriel's blunder was understandable since the man in the picture was none other than Daniel himself.
