Dual Cultivation: I Summon Villainesses of Mythic Era-Chapter 47: The Young Master Xuan Possesses A Nobility That You Could Never Understand
"My dear Mei, trickery is a form of art, and your reaction is the most beautiful reward for a humble scholar,"
Meanwhile, on the other side of the door. Hue Qing observed the scene, her heart pounding wildly at the thought of being discovered.
’I should tell father that it will be completely impossible to seduce such a man who is so happily married...’ she thought, feeling a bitter sting of jealousy prick her chest.
For her, the complicity between BaiShe and Zhi Mei was obvious. She lowered her eyes to her own hands, which were trembling slightly.
"This woman is so lucky... Unfortunately, I have never been blessed by the Dao..." she murmured to herself in a breath, before silently walking away down the corridor, overwhelmed by her own feeling of inferiority.
Inside the room, Zhi Mei had turned away from BaiShe. She approached the window, observing the purple mists swirling above the sharp peaks of the kingdom. Her eyebrows were furrowed, and her porcelain profile was marked by a severity that tried to mask her inner turmoil.
BaiShe closed the distance until he could smell the lotus scent emanating from the Templar.
"Ok, I apologize, I know your reputation must be impeccable,"
Zhi Mei turned her head slightly, making a pout that made her plump lips quiver.
"You think I will forgive your offenses with only apologies?"
"It so happens that I have something that can help you forgive me," he announced with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes.
Zhi Mei gave a slight glance, curiosity taking over her anger. After all, she knew that the Xuan family possessed incalculable resources. If this bastard had a high-quality elixir or a divine-rank artifact to offer her to seal their reconciliation, she would see no problem in accepting.
"What is it?"
BaiShe took a breath and stared at the ceiling with an expression of sacrifice.
"Unfortunately, this young scholar only has his body to offer..." he declared, while pretending to undo the belt of his silk tunic.
Zhi Mei remained motionless for a fraction of a second, before red violently rose to her cheeks, coloring her pointed ears.
"But you have no shame?" she exclaimed. "I have heard quite a few rumors about your friend Hu Tian, it seems you are much worse than him!"
BaiShe burst out laughing, loving to tease her, then took on a more serious expression.
"It seems you have discovered something other than the Dao Executor given your expression..." he observed, his gaze scanning the horizon.
Zhi Mei nodded.
"I found traces of the Devourer near the ruins all the way south... He is here in this kingdom, BaiShe,"
BaiShe nodded slowly, his silver eyes shining with a fleeting purple glow.
’The Devourer of this era...’ he thought. [15]
As a reincarnated Heavenly Demon, he was not the one who had left those traces. If he was the Original Devourer, the Dao had still designated a new bearer for this age. The presence of this entity in the same kingdom as the Dao Executor opened up many possibilities.
"Well, it is not necessarily a bad thing, we can kill two birds with one stone," concluded BaiShe.
"You are not wrong... Come, follow me,"

As Hue Qing turned the corner of the corridor, she came face to face with her fiancé.
He was staggering, leaning against the stone wall. His tunic was torn and stained with dust.
"Are you going to pretend you did not see me, Hue Qing?"
Qing’er did not approach. She did not pretend to take out a handkerchief or a pill to heal him. She simply turned her head to the side.
"You got what you deserved, Guo Jian," she replied coldly. "You should consider yourself lucky to still be alive after confronting Young Master Xuan like that. Your arrogance almost led us all to our doom."
This cold response was no different from receiving a slap. He spat bloody coughs and took a staggering step toward her.
"What? Is that all you have to say to me?" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with disbelief.
Seeing that he was losing control, Qing’er turned on her heel to leave, refusing to prolong this pathetic exchange. However, Guo Jian, in a last surge of strength, thrust his hand forward and firmly seized her wrist.
"Let me go, Jian! I am not in the mood to put up with your whining,"
"But I do not understand you anymore, Qing’er!" he roared, ignoring her threat.
"Have you been forced by the Patriarch? Or by that man, that Xuan? I do not care about his status as a noble from the Upper Kingdoms! No one can force my fiancée to degrade herself like that!"
Qing’er abruptly pulled her arm, freeing herself from his grip with surprising strength for her fragile stature. She frowned.
"You are disrespecting me, Jian. Stop!"
"Father already spoke to you about the situation and the importance of our guests. With your impulsive attitude, you are only complicating our lives and putting us in danger."
Guo Jian’s face turned pale.
"This man from the Upper Kingdoms appeared out of nowhere..." he began, teeth clenched. "And now you are ready to leave me for a bastard who forced you to sleep with him. I saw it in your eyes, Qing’er. You have been soiled by him!"
Qing’er let out a contemptuous laugh.
"How many times do I have to tell you that he did not touch me!" she exclaimed, taking a step toward him to intimidate him.
"And besides, Young Master Xuan is not that kind of man. He possesses an elegance and restraint that you could never understand. He said he would not even touch me when I offered to warm his bed," she let out.
"Is it not you who asks me to sleep with you every time we meet? You think everyone is as perverted as you, Guo Jian."
"What?"
Guo Jian froze. His expression became so twisted that it looked as if he had just eaten shit.
The world seemed to collapse around him. He prayed inwardly to all the gods and buddhas of the universe that he had misheard.
"You... do you realize what you are saying!?" he stammered.
"You offered yourself... to a stranger? You? Where has my prudish Qing’er gone? The pearl of the purple mist has become a prostitute"
