Dual Cultivation: I Summon Villainesses of Mythic Era-Chapter 36: Naive Girl...
The Law Master burst into a mocking laugh and made a hand gesture. About ten subordinates charged simultaneously.
Ling’er spun her spear.
Immediately, loud crackling sounds tore through the air.
< Way of the Spear : Golden Lightning >
Sacred lightning arcs burst from the tip of her weapon, illuminating the area with a divine glow. She lunged with disconcerting fluidity. Her spear became an extension of her own body, striking with deadly precision.
The first bandit did not have time to parry. The spear tip pierced his throat, the lightning grilling his vocal cords before he could emit a sound. Ling’er pivoted, using the momentum to sweep the legs of a second attacker while projecting a discharge on a third. In a few seconds, five Spiritual Core stage cultivators lay on the ground, their bodies carbonized or pierced through and through.
"Impressive for a kid," admitted the Law Master, his expression darkening.
" No wonder, she is the princess of the immortal Xuan family ! "
He took a step forward, and the spiritual pressure instantly doubled.
"But your talent will not fill the abyss that separates us."
Ling’er felt her meridians contract under the weight of this man’s Law. She attempted a new attack, but the Law Master swept the air with the back of his hand, sending a shock wave that made the young woman waver.
"Die !" roared another bandit, plunging his blade toward her flank.
Ling’er closed her eyes for a fraction of a second.
< Illusory Mist Projection >
Her silhouette suddenly became vaporous, transforming into a silvery mist that the sword passed through without meeting resistance. She reappeared three meters further, panting, fine beads of sweat beading on her forehead. This technique consumed a huge amount of Qi, and she already felt her reserves depleting.
The combat continued...
Ling’er was untouchable for the subordinates at the same realm as her, her spear technique being of absolute purity, but the three Law Masters began to encircle her, limiting her escape options.
"Enough playing," cut the bandit leader.
He disappeared from his position to reappear in front of her with a speed that defied her Spiritual Core reflexes. Ling’er tried to raise her spear to parry, but it was too late. The Law Master’s calloused hand violently closed on her throat, abruptly stopping her Qi flow.
"You have guts, little one. It is a shame you end up like this," he sneered, his fingers digging into her tender flesh. While he took Ling’er’s spear
The latter struggled to breathe, her hands vainly clawing at her attacker’s arm. Panic began to take hold of her mind. Was this where her journey stopped ? Captured by vulgar bandits after surviving the betrayal of the Heavenly Demon ?
Suddenly, a spiritual pressure of an entirely different magnitude fell upon the battlefield. It was a calm but absolute force, similar to the arrival of an imminent storm. Two silhouettes dressed in the dark clothes of the Xuan family guard appeared beside the crater.
Their mere presence made the weakest Spiritual Core stage bandits collapse, unable to withstand the aura of two Nascent Soul stage cultivators.
"Release Lady Xuan. Immediately," ordered one of the guards in a voice devoid of emotion.
The Law Master holding Ling’er froze, a cold sweat running down his back. He did not know the real power of these newcomers and would therefore have to take some precautions. He released Ling’er, who collapsed to the ground coughing violently, massaging her reddened throat.
She raised her eyes toward the two guards who had just placed themselves in front of her.
’Nascent Soul... BaiShe’s personal guards,’ she realized with a feeling of disgust.
She straightened up with difficulty, her golden eyes fixing the backs of the guards with poorly concealed hatred.
" BaiShe, how dare you spy on me?!"
Xuan Ling struggled to catch her breath, her golden robe torn in places, revealing the immaculate whiteness of her skin now stained with dust.
Her two protectors, elite guards at the Nascent Soul stage, formed a rampart around her. Although powerful, they were overwhelmed by the numbers and especially by the presence of the three bandit leaders, Law Masters whose authority over elemental laws crushed the area.
"Lady Xuan Ling, you must leave ! We will not be able to contain them forever !" shouted one of the guards, narrowly parrying a Qi blade that made his bones tremble.
Ling’er clenched her teeth, her golden pupils shining with helpless rage. She cast a glance toward the bandit leader who was nonchalantly playing with a familiar weapon : her own precious spear, a Divine rank artifact that he had found for her at Night Cloudy Mountain during the exam.
"I will not leave without my spear !" she retorted.
"You care so much about this toy, little princess ?" sneered the chief Law Master while saturating the spear with his Qi, making it crackle with unstable and destructive energy. "Very well. Take it back... in your Dantian !"
With a fluid and brutal movement, he projected the weapon with force.
The spear split the air, becoming a deadly streak of light aimed directly at the young woman’s heart. Ling’er desperately tried to erect a Qi barrier, but the Law Master’s domain was too dense. Her protection shattered into pieces.
Time seemed to slow down. Ling’er felt death approaching, a glacial sensation she knew only too well for having lived it once before. She closed her eyes, a deep bitterness invading her mind.
’I was so reckless... I do not even have a rescue Talisman,’ she thought with a hint of hatred toward herself.
’All this is because of BaiShe. He has way too many enemies, and it is still me who pays for his monstrous nature.’
She waited for the final impact, certain that her second life was ending here.
It was then that a subtle and unique scent invaded her senses, piercing the stench of blood and dust. It was a virile perfume, a fragrance she would have recognized among a thousand and which usually froze her blood. But this time, an unexpected body warmth enveloped her. A powerful and protective arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her against a solid chest.
The feeling of security emanating from this embrace was so absolute, so foreign to everything she had felt before in her two lives, that she remained petrified.
"Naive little girl... you cross the border without escort ?" murmured a melodious and calm voice in her ear, a voice that carried a nonchalant authority capable of silencing the world.
Ling’er abruptly opened her eyes. She first saw the spatial void closing behind them, a tear in reality itself that only a master of spatial laws could have created. Then, her gaze rose toward the man holding her.
