Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Control Me

After a long silence, the voice on the other end of the line finally spoke. "Tristan’s grandmother passed away last night. I’ve tried calling him a few times, but his phone’s been off and I can’t get through."

"What? She passed away last night? Why didn’t you tell me?" Aiden Avery was instantly flustered.

"What good would telling you do? You’re in Eldoria right now. Besides, Tristan didn’t tell us himself, which means he doesn’t want us to bother him."

Hearing Cassian Jennings’s words, Aiden Avery had to admit he’d overreacted. "Heh, you’ve got a point. If Tristan didn’t tell us, it means he doesn’t want to be disturbed. I just never thought that besides chasing skirts, the great Master Jennings actually knew how to read people. How rare. Truly rare."

"Aiden Avery, what’s that supposed to mean?!"

"Haha, nothing else. It means exactly what it sounds like."

Suddenly, an idea struck Cassian Jennings. He raised a smug eyebrow and threatened, "Don’t think I can’t get to you just because you’re in Eldoria. Hmph. Don’t you forget, your sister is chasing after me right now."

"Cassian Jennings, if you dare do anything to hurt my sister while I’m not in Tridell, I won’t let you get away with it."

"What are you gonna do about it? Worst case, I’ll just marry your sister."

"You son of a bitch! You dare marry my sister, and I’ll dare to marry your mom." Aiden Avery cursed furiously before hanging up in a rage.

On the other end of the line, Cassian Jennings stared at his phone, utterly dumbfounded.

’Is Aiden Avery trying to pull one over on me in some twisted way?’

’He actually dared to threaten to marry my mom?’

’So, Aiden Avery wants to be my stepdad? No way. I already have a father.’

"Master Jennings, what are you doing just standing there all dazed? Come on, let’s get back to the party," a heavily made-up, seductive woman said as she sauntered over.

"Heh..." The moment Cassian Jennings saw the woman before him, he completely forgot about Aiden Avery. He threw an arm around the beautiful woman and headed back into the crowd.

As they reached the crowd, someone handed Cassian Jennings a drink. He raised the glass, tilted his head back, and downed it in one go. After he finished, he smashed the glass on the floor, and the beautiful women around him began to dance wildly.

Just as the glass shattered on the floor, the suite door was pushed open by a young girl in a school uniform.

Her face was pale as she watched the man dancing in the distance, his hands roaming over the other women. She clenched her fists tightly, fighting back tears. Then, she tore off her backpack, lifted her foot, and kicked the door. With a loud BANG, it slammed shut.

The massive slam of the door brought the party to a halt. All the men and women who had been dancing stopped and stared at the girl standing by the entrance.

Ignoring the many strange and displeased stares, she walked straight to the sofa, threw down her backpack, and sat.

Cassian Jennings was right in the middle of having fun, and getting interrupted was starting to piss him off. He was just about to start cursing someone out when he saw who it was—the one woman he could neither hit nor scold. He felt like he was about to cough up blood.

’He really shouldn’t have run his mouth.’ He’d just been talking tough to Aiden Avery, and now the guy’s sister had shown up on his doorstep.

He walked over with a frown, doing his best to remain calm. "Amelia Avery, what are you doing here? This isn’t a place for a middle schooler like you."

"Why do you care? You’re not my anything, so what right do you have to tell me what to do?" Amelia Avery said coldly, tilting her chin up.
