Disaster-Level Player Is Too Good at Broadcasting-Chapter 55: « Floor 6 Stream »
Kang Min reached for his face, expecting the familiar touch of something hard.
His hand met bare skin.
"Right..the kid."
He stayed silent for a moment, his hand still hovering near his jaw.
"It’s okay."
He said, his expression settling back.
"I have my reasons for leaving it with him..."
With a sigh that was more about the inconvenience than the loss, he tapped a few commands into the holographic air, summoning the System Shop.
「"Search: Vanity Items. Sub-category: Masks."」
Kang Min flicked through the holographic shop window, the blue light of the interface washing over his bare face.
A list of options materialized in the air, each one displayed.
[System Shop: Cosmetic Masks]
『The Gilded Lion』: A heavy, gold-plated mask with a mane of stiff metal wires. The eyes are rubies that pulse with a faint light, giving the wearer a regal, predatory appearance.
『The Silent Monk』: A plain wooden face with the mouth sewn shut by thick, hempen ropes. It carries the scent of old cedar and temple incense.
『The Cracked Porcelain』: A white ceramic mask featuring a jagged fracture running from the forehead down to the chin. The expression is one of frozen, elegant grief.
Min’s finger slowed as he reached the bottom of the list.
He tapped a final icon.
A matte black face made of a lightweight, reinforced polymer.
The eye slits are cut into sharp, upside-down brackets.
A single, thin line was etched into the bottom half, curving upward into a permanent, mocking smile.
"That’s the one."
He spent the coins.
The mask materialized in his hands.
He pressed it against his face. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
It fit perfectly the bracketed eye-slits aligning perfectly with his vision.
The curved smile looked like provocation...which he liked
He reached out and tapped the red ’GO LIVE’ icon.
"How are you all doing today?"
Kang Min adjusted the floating camera lens with a flick of his wrist.
He was standing in the center of a damp, moss-covered transit chamber on the 3rd Floor, known to most as the ’Whispering Grotto.’
Most climbers at this stage were huddled together in groups of four or five, frantically discussing how to solve the "Labyrinth of Logic," the floor’s primary trial.
Kang Min, however, was walking in the opposite direction of the main golden gates.
『[Viewer_1]: NEW MASK?!』
『[Slayer_Official]: Holy...he looks like a maniac.』
『[Viewer_44]: HE’S LIVE! The Masked Madman is back!』
『[Slayer_Official]: Wait, why is he going toward the Restricted Zone? The exit is north, buddy.』
『[Noob_Stomper]: Is he lost? Someone tell him he’s going the wrong way.』
Kang Min glanced at the scrolling holographic chat window out of the corner of his eye.
His expression remained unreadable behind the black fabric of his mask, though his eyes carried a hint of dry amusement.
"I’m not lost."
Kang Min said, his voice low and steady.
"The Labyrinth of Logic is a waste of time.
Too much talking, too many puzzles that rely on the whims of a bored Constellation.
I prefer a more... direct approach to leveling."
『[Donation - 500 Coins] [User: Small_Change_Goblin]: "Direct approach? You mean you’re too stupid to solve the puzzles. Just admit you failed math in high school, Streamer. Your mask is hiding a very confused forehead right now."』
Kang Min stopped in front of a jagged, unassuming rock wall.
He read the super chat and let out a short, huffed breath that might have been a laugh if he were a more expressive man.
"Confused forehead? That’s creative, Goblin."
Min remarked.
"And for the record, I didn’t fail math.
I just find it more efficient to subtract monsters from existence than to add up variables in a riddle."
He reached out and pressed his palm against a specific indentation in the mossy stone.
[Hidden Trial Triggered: The Crucible of the Endless Tide!]
[Warning: This trial is intended for parties of 10 or more. Proceed?]
Kang Min tapped the ’Yes’ icon without a second thought.
The rock wall groaned and slid upward, revealing a massive, circular pit illuminated by glowing blue fungi.
『[Chat_Mod_X]: WAIT, he just triggered the Crucible?! That’s a suicide mission for a solo climber!』
『[Sword_Lover]: 10 waves of elite mobs... solo? He’s either a God or an idiot.』
『[Donation - 1,000 Coins] [User: Small_Change_Goblin]: "1,000 coins says he screams like a little girl in the first thirty seconds. Look at him standing there like he’s in a brooding competition. Do a flip or something, Edgelord!"』
Kang Min stepped into the arena.
The heavy stone door slammed shut behind him, sealing him in the blue-lit gloom.
He ignored the troll’s comment about the flip, though he did take a moment to double-check the straps on his gear.
"I won’t be doing any flips."
Min said to the camera.
"But I’ll make sure the view stays interesting. Stick around, Goblin.
You might learn something about ’direct approaches.’"
The floor of the pit began to vibrate.
From the shadows of the surrounding tunnels, the first wave emerged.
Thirty ’Grotto Crawlers,’ insectoid monsters the size of large dogs with jagged, obsidian mandibles.
Kang Min didn’t draw his sword immediately.
He stood in a relaxed stance, his hands at his sides.
"Wave one."
He muttered.
The insects screeched and lunged.
Kang Min moved like a shadow.
He didn’t waste energy on flashy movements; he stepped just far enough to let a pincer whistle past his ear, then delivered a palm strike to the creature’s thorax. The insect shattered like glass.
『[Viewer_99]: That precision... he isn’t even looking at them!』
『[Pro_Analyst]: Look at his footwork. He’s manipulating the aggro lines so they bottle-neck themselves. This guy is a veteran in a rookie’s body.』
As the wave continued, the chat became a chaotic mess of cheers and bets. Kang Min moved through the swarm with a terrifying, rhythmic grace. Each strike was a death sentence. He was a conductor, and the dying screeches of the Crawlers were his orchestra.
『[Donation - 200 Coins] [User: Small_Change_Goblin]: "Okay, fine, you can kill bugs. Big deal. My grandma can kill bugs with a rolled-up newspaper. Let’s see you handle the Wave 5 Boss, you masked stick-insect."』
Kang Min paused for a second between waves, wiping a drop of green ichor off his sleeve.
「"Your grandmother sounds like a formidable woman, Goblin,"」 Min said, glancing at the chat. 「"Perhaps she should have climbed the Tower instead of you. She’d probably have more coins to donate."」
The chat erupted in "LMAO" and "Roasted."
『[User_B]: OHHH! The Streamer finally clapped back!』
『[User_C]: Goblin, you gonna let him talk about your nana like that?』
Kang Min didn’t wait for the reply. Wave four was already entering the arena—’Chained Thralls,’ undead warriors with rusted cleavers and thick, iron armor.
「"I’m glad you’re all enjoying the show,"」 Min said, his voice softening just a fraction, a rare moment of genuine interaction. 「"It’s been a while since I had an audience that didn’t just want me to die for the narrative. You guys are... alright."」
『[Wholesome_Watcher]: We got your back, Singularity! Clear the floor!』
『[Loyal_Fan_1]: He called us alright! That’s basically a marriage proposal from a guy this stoic!』
Kang Min drew his blade. The steel hummed as it caught the blue fungal light. The Thralls charged, their chains rattling like the laughter of ghosts. Min met them halfway.
He was a blur of steel and blue mana. He didn’t just fight; he dissected the enemy. He used the environment, kicking off the walls to gain height, driving his sword through the gaps in the Thralls’ rusted plate armor.
[Wave 5: Boss Encounter — The Putrid Overseer!]
A massive, bloated creature dragging a spiked flail emerged from the largest tunnel. It was easily twelve feet tall, its skin a sickly, translucent grey.
「"This one looks like he’s had too much of the Duke’s ale,"」 Min remarked, eyes narrowing.
『[Donation - 2,000 Coins] [User: Small_Change_Goblin]: "2,000 coins says the fat guy sits on you. If you win this without taking a hit, I’ll stop calling you a pancake forehead for exactly ten minutes. Go on, ’Singularity,’ show us that ’Direct Approach.’"』
Kang Min looked at the donation. 2,000 coins was the maximum this particular viewer usually sent. It was a significant amount for a 3rd-floor stream.
「"Ten minutes of silence? That’s the most tempting offer I’ve had all day,"」 Min said.
The Overseer roared and swung the flail. The spiked ball demolished the ground where Min had been standing a second before. Min was already in the air, his body spinning.
He didn’t go for the head. He went for the chains.
With a series of precise strikes, he severed the links holding the flail. The massive spiked ball rolled away, useless. The Overseer blinked, confused by the loss of its weapon.
「"My turn,"」 Min said.
He landed on the Overseer’s shoulder. Instead of a killing blow, he used a series of rapid pressure-point strikes with his hilt. The Overseer’s arms went limp. The creature stumbled, its own massive weight becoming its enemy.
Kang Min leaped off, performed a clean mid-air twist—partially just to spite the Goblin—and landed softly as the Overseer collapsed behind him with a world-shaking thud.
『[Chat]: HE DID THE FLIP!』
『[Small_Change_Goblin]: "...Dammit. That was actually kind of cool. I hate you."』
Kang Min sheathed his blade, his chest barely heaving. He looked at the camera lens, the blue glow of the arena reflecting in the dark slits of his mask.
「"That’s Wave 5 cleared,"」 he said. 「"Five more to go. Goblin, I believe you owe me ten minutes of civility. Try not to let the internal pressure make your head explode."」
He took a seat on a nearby rock, taking a slow sip from a water skin. The chat was buzzing, a community forming around the quiet, capable man who treated the Tower’s terrors like a chore.
『[User_X]: Honestly, I came here for the memes, but this guy is actually legit.』
『[User_Y]: It’s weirdly relaxing to watch him. Like a ’Lo-fi beats to slay monsters to’ stream.』
Kang Min looked at the comments. For a moment, the weight of the Tower—the memories of the Old World, the pressure of the climb, the solitude of his mission—seemed to lighten.
「"I appreciate the support,"」 Min said, his voice quiet. 「"The Tower is a lonely place. Having you all here... it makes the air feel a bit less heavy. Even you, Goblin. Your coins are as loud as your mouth, but they’re useful."」
『[Small_Change_Goblin]: [Message Withheld for 10 Minutes per Bet Agreement]』
The chat roared with laughter.
「"Alright,"」 Kang Min said, standing up and cracking his neck. 「"Wave six is coming. Don’t blink. I’d hate for you to miss the next ’direct approach.’"」
He turned back to the dark tunnels, his silhouette sharp and determined. He was Singularity. He was Kang Min. And he was going to turn this Tower upside down, one wave at a time, with a choir of strangers cheering him on from the void.
He snapped his fingers, and the blue mana flared around his boots as the next wave of monsters began to howl.
「"Let’s get back to work."」
『[SYSTEM]: Stream Viewership has reached 12,000!』
