Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 61: Amulet
Adrain went to the kitchen the next morning and found Sam was already there staring at a black chest wrapped in chains.
" What’s this?" He asked, he could tell the chest was special.
Sam shrugged, " I don’t know I found it here this morning." He replied.
" You’re saying somebody sneaked in here and put the chest on our kitchen and he didn’t even sense them?"
Sam nodded," It would appear so dude." Adrain found that hard to believe, that person would either need a very special ability or be much stronger than them.
But level 2 was the highest level that can exist within the barrier of this city and level 2 Fayera and Espara were not a threat to Adrian.
" Lets open it." He suggested but he could feel his heart beating like a drum and he could Sam’s heart too.
It was funny, the two mighty werewolves being scared of a chest but this was really creepy.
Sam tried to open it, he fiddled with the lock and nothing, he tried to break the chains which should not have been hard with his strength but nothing happened.
Neither the chain nor the lock budged and eventually he gave up, Adrian was stronger and had a lot of abilities.
He tried to find one that can unlock locks and of all the extra useless abilities he had, not a single one could do that.
He sighed and decided to brute force it as well, he even thought of going full werewolf but chose to try in his base form first.
However as soon as his finger touched the lock, a sharp pin sprung out and pricked his finger.
" Ouch." That little prick strangely hurt more than being thrown through a wall, it flew back into the chest.
Then the lock clicked, they looked at each other in suprise. " I almost broke my arms and all it needed was just a bit of your blood? That doesn’t seem fair dude.
However this means whoever sent it must’ve sent it for you, a message perhaps, do you think it’s a head?"
Adrian shook his head at Sam’s theories but he couldn’t dismiss them, slowly he lifted the lid but what he saw inside were amulets.
There were at least 30 of them from first glance, possibly more. He picked one of them up and inspected them.
The amulet was just a normal crystal amulet no matter which he looked at it, he looked inside the chest and found a piece of paper.
" It’s a letter." He told Sam and opened the letter.
"Hello my sweet boy, I hope you’ve been doing okay and you’re not doing anything stupid like opening a DETECTIVE AGENCY."
That was how the letter started and he immediately knew it came from Meggie, he thought about throwing it away but decided to continue reading.
" I know you’re probably angry at me for not contacting you for so long, I had my reasons and you’ll know someday.
Now about those amulet, you already know about the barrier around the city, these amulet are enchanted with special runes.
They’ll allow you to reduce your power level allowing you to exist within the city in the case you’ve reached level 3 and higher.
I don’t think I’ll be able to come back anytime soon so you’ll have to be on your own for a bit longer or you can make more friends.
Be safe and remember, I love you."
The letter ended there, she was right when she said he was angry, Adrian still couldn’t explain his feelings for her.
He loved her, he tried his best to think of her as an aunt but she felt too much like his mother.
On multiple occasions he had always called her mom, it was a strange feeling, almost like a curse was making him see her that way.
Considering his mother was a witch, it’s possible she placed a curse on him so he wouldn’t miss her too much if he sees her in Meggie.
He sighed, a flame appeared on his hand and burnt the letter to ashes, he closed the chest and explained what the amulet were to Sam.
" Why would she bring so many? Are they consumables?" Sam asked and Adrain shook his head.
" I don’t think so, I think she expects them to be used by multiple people, she does know about my ability to create more werewolves after all."
Sam nodded, " I guess that makes sense, now then, what are gonna do about those two, dude?"
Adrian smiled, " I think I know exactly what I will do."

Sanchez went to work and she was in a good mood, her colleagues were surprised by the dog.
" What’s this?" Her chief asked looking at Fluffy.
" My emotional support animal." She took out a piece of paper and showed him, it was from a therapist.
" I haven’t been feeling good lately, depressed about everything that’s happening you know.
The strange disappearances of towns and the people disappearing here, it’s too much."
The chief nodded, " Fine but make sure it doesn’t cause trouble."
She nodded and looked at Fluffy, fluffy lowered her tail and tapped its left hind leg twice.
This surprised Rosa Sanchez, this was something Adrain had taught fluffy, fluffy had the intelligence of a normal dog.
The difference was that she could learn tricks quickly or so she thought but it turned out it was because Adrain was a king of all canines as he called himself.
This was a secret message, fluffy only did this when she smelled a Fayera, she tapped her right when it’s an Espera.
Adrain had explained the difference to her, she looked at her chief and wondered what kind of Fayera he was.
What she didn’t know was the fear her chief was feeling right then, he couldn’t tell what Fluffy actually was but he knew she was a Gadra.
He on the other hand was a type of Fayera called a moleman, one of the weakest Fayera in existence.
Had it not been for the tiny amount of esper energy causing through their veins, his race would be even weaker than normal humans in terms of strength.
Even with esper, they’re only slightly stronger than normal humans in terms of strength, comparable to a peak human but not at a superhuman level.
The only thing they’re good at is digging, they can do that at a superhuman level but they had great senses.
As a weak race they can sense threats from a mile away, had he been alone he would’ve ran before Sanchez could even reach the station.
Fortunately he couldn’t sense any malice from the creature, otherwise he might’ve dug through the station floor to run and blew his cover.
Exposing the supernatural world would’ve landed him in trouble, probably sixty years in prison if he was lucky.
