With Meggie gone, Adrian was free to do whatever he wanted, first order of business was teaching his new lackey how to use esper energy.

They say in the living room and he held both of Sam’s hands. He did it exactly the way Meggie did to him.

However, not only was his esper too pure, he didn’t have as much control over it as he thought he did.

Which made sense after all he hadn’t been using esper energy for long. So when he infused his energy into Sam’s arms they busted.

Even Sam’s bones broke and his flesh peeled off his skin. The poor guy gritted his teeth but he didn’t scream.

Adrian stopped before the esper energy could go any further. " Okay that was massive failure, heal up and we’ll try again."

He stood up and went toake himself some dinner. A wound of that level would take some time to heal.

It took hours, still his arms hadn’t fully healed, his bones were still mending themselves so Adrian waited.

Just before nightfall, the arms fully healed themselves which made Sam play with them like a child seeing a new toy.

He couldn’t believe the speed at which his body healed itself, a normal human never would’ve healed a wound like that, they would’ve been paralysed for life.

After healing they tried again even though Sam was nervous, fortunately this time Adrain was able to limit his esper energy.

He poured only a little into Sam, Sam felt it coursing through his veins then his own energy stirred.

It was significantly weaker than Adrian’s but when Adrian felt it he was greatly surprised, the energy was very pure.

Multiple times more pure than that of old man Berry and even the Krabol and the demon.

It even more pure than that of Vaskula, a named demon and Sam was the lowest in the werewolf hierarchy.

Adrian realised his race might be top tier, he left Sam there who was still trying to rein in his esper energy.

After a few minutes Sam came into the kitchen running with excitement, after all he was only a year younger than Adrian.

While he legally counted as an adult, he was still just a teenager. " Ability, I awakened an ability."

Adrian had expected that so he was not surprised but he was curious about the ability Sam awakened.

" Why don’t we test your ability." He suggested with a smile and Sam grew excited.

" What’s you’re thinking?" He asked, the eagerness in his voice barely hidden.

Adrian’s grin grew wider, " Have you tasted the meat of a bat?" That immediately made Sam scowl with disgust.

" Come, I’ll take you hunting." He led Sam out, they climbed the side of the building and reached the roof while making sure nobody saw them.

He jumped on to th roof of the building next to theirs and headed south, Sam followed behind him.

Then Adrian jumped across the street and crossed 8 metres in a single bound and landed on a building across the road.

This made Sam hesitate, he was still not clear on his own abilities so he was a bit nervous.

He took a deep breath and jumped" AHHHHHH." He screamed mid air and landed on the same roof as Adrain.

The few people still roaming the streets looked up in confusion but saw nothing, the two of them were long gone.

They reached the south of the city and Sam suddenly caught a certain scent, he couldn’t explain.

He had smelled something similar on both Adrain and Meggie but this also felt different, it had the scent of blood.

" What you’re smelling is the scent of another Fayera, we smell different from normal people and you can even differentiate between races and individuals."

Adrian told him and Sam nodded with understanding, " So this bloody scent, what does it belong to?" He asked.

Adrain grinned and jumped on to the roof of another building, Sam followed and looked down into a dark alley.

There he saw a man pressing another man to the wall and sucking his neck, he gave Adrian a strange look.

" I didn’t know you had such taste man." He commented. Adrain gave him a strange look.

" It’s okay, I’m not judging." The confusion on Adrian’s face grew, then he shook his head and continued watching.

" If you don’t interfere that guy is going to die." Adrain whispered and Sam looked down then realised the scent of blood was very strong.

The man pressing the other against the wall had a strong scent of blood and the unique scent of a Fayera.

" Oh this is what you meant by bat." He realised this man was a vampire from the legends.

Even with all he’s seen today, knowing vampires were real was some experience. The vampire looked up.

Even though the two of them were whispering it still heard them. It ignored it prey and tried to run.

Vampires were fast, at least to normal peoplez its body blurred towards the end of the alley.

Adrain moved, he was even faster, he jumped from the roof and blocked the path, his feet landed gently not even causing a single ripple.

He looked at the vampire with cold eyes, Vampires had the scent of demons, like werewolves they were part demon.

Perhaps that was why he found them disgusting, he seemed especially repulsed by demons.

Sam landed on the other side, Sam felt strange, looking at this vampire gave him a sense of disgust and disdain like it was a lower lower lifeform compared to him.

The vampire panicked, " Who are you, I’m a member of the noble house of Attar, if you touch me.."

Adrian raised his hand before the vampire could continue with its blabbering. " It’s all yours." He told Sam in a deep voice and folded his arms behind his back

" You don’t have to act all cool, what are you some main character?" Sam saw through his act and Adrain coughed in embarrassment.

The vampire gritted its teeth and jumped trying to escape but Sam caught up and brought it back to the ground.

" Hey, face me fair and square." He retreated four mwtres away. The vampire hissed and its claws came out.

Realising it couldn’t escape it decided to fight but it could feel that Adrain was too powerful.

The other one while strong was the of the weaker two and decided to face him. Adrain waited to see Sam’s ability in action.

Sam’s feet all the way to below his knees shined with silver light, the vampire lunged.

" Moon step." Sam whispered and moved. He disappeared from the vampire’s eyes and appeared behind the vampire in a split second.

In his hand was its heart, the vampire looked down at its empty chest with despair then fell down already dead.

" Did..did you just name your ability?"

" No no I did not." Sam denied and Adrian couldn’t help but laugh, after calling him childish for acting cool.

Sam checked the pulse of the man who was attacked by the vampire, " Yeah this guy is dead."

The two of them left the alley leaving the two corpses there and went home.

" Am I forgetting something?" Adrian wondered.
