Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 39: Subduing the Demon
Adrian’s howl startled the few strongest beings in the city. All of them wondered what caused such a terrifying howl.
Most thought is was a wolf Gadra. Gadras weren’t only strange monsters, some were born in a similar manner to Espara, from common animals.
While everybody was wondering what could cause something like that, Nancy had different thoughts.
Based on the report of Wolf and Vestro, while Adrain didn’t take his true form around them, she could deduce he was some form of canine Fayera.
However like Wolf there was something that confused her, she figured she would learn once she caught him.
She took Bruce and drove towards the house with the demon but even the fearless brute was a bit scared.
Mind type demons were his worst enemy, his brute nature made him an easy target for them, his mind was weak to illusions.
Nancy ignored his protest and had him drive them there, she was surprised to find the family standing outside.
----------------------------------------------------------
A few minutes before Nancy’s arrival.
Adrian took his true form and felt his anger blaze like a bonfire. He was losing control of his emotions.
He growled and shook his head, his silver eyes glared the demon with unhidden primal savagery.
In his eyes she saw demonic energy and rage so pure it made her heart beat with lust. Her breathing got heavy.
She now wanted to consume this unknown creature and drag his soul to hell to play with him.
Then Adrian moved, all the demon saw was a silver blur then a sonic boom followed and the floor shattered.
Adrian grabbed it and rammed it body on the wall so hard the entire house shook, had it not been strengthened by the hexes outside it might’ve filled.
The demon seemed to be surprised but so was he, his telepathy ability seemed to have increased his mental resilience.
While he couldn’t claim to be in a normal mental state, he could at least retain his sanity and not be consumed by his emotions.
He dug his claws into the demon’s body just as it tried to turn into fog and escape his grasp.
It screamed from the pain and its ability did not work, he had expected that. His claws could suppress the power of other magical races.
It was even stronger in his true form not to mention, due to his demonic nature, they were more effective against demonic type creatures.
He could feel they were also very effective against holy type creatures and abilities, even more so infact.
So when he stabbed them into the demon’s body, it failed to use its ability and lost a potion of its strength.
Its body transformed and it took its true form, it looked like a Naga, its lower body was that of a shake.
It had pitch black scales and a tail that ended in what looked like a scorpion stinger, that was one difference it had from a Naga.
The other was its head, it still had the body if a woman with a pale while skin but it had the head of what looked like a red ant.
It was a giant insect head with mandibles as sharp as swords. It wrapped its long serpentine body around his body.
Its sharp tail went for his head but he ducked to the side, even though the move wouldn’t have killed him, healing head damage would take longer.
Before she could attack again he grabbed her head and rammed it on the wall causing the entire room to shake.
He grabbed her with both hands then threw her across the room. Time seemed to slow down and he lunged.
BOOOOM, a sonic boom shook the room as he pierced through the sound barrier. By the time her body hit the wall on the other side he was already there.
Her body had barely bounced off the enhanced wall when he grabbed her and rammed her on it again.
She coughed up black blood and a wave of pain assaulted her senses, as a demon, she did not care for pain, at least normally that is.
That’s because they felt pain differently, due to the immortal nature, most things that would cause tremendous pain to others merely took tickle them.
However Adrian’s claws caused real mind numbing pain to her, his claws could even effect her spirit.
While demons didn’t have souls they did have spirit as did all living things. She screamed but he pressed her against the wall and ripped her throat out.
Her wound started healing but it was a hundred times slower than it should be, this terrified her.
Yet she did not panic, the knowledge of her immortality made her relax a bit, seeing she couldn’t overpower him with her physical strength she used her demonic powers.
Adrain felt a wave of dark energy assault him, this was the energy demons used to read and control minds, cast illusions etc.
It was similar to his lunar energy when he uses telepathy but also different, darker and more potent.
The energy tried to assault his mind but in his true form, he was a monstrous existence that defied logic.
Logically he should not be able to fight a level 2 creature as a mere level one let alone a demon.
Yet he wasn’t just fighting but demolishing the demon. Her demonic energy tried to effect his mind.
Using the little sanity he had he sent her a flood of memories. When she saw those memories she froze.
Her serpentine body shook with fear, a demon shook with fear, if this spread out it would shake the entire world.
That’s because what she saw was him killing Vaskula, a named demon that held not only much more power but status than her.
" You...you kill lord Vaskula?" She asked with fear, she was a lowly demon but named demons were the nobles of hell.
While Vaskula was weak amongst his peers he was far above a nameless demon like her, yes she was a bit stronger because of her level but she didn’t even know if she could defeat him.
Yet this mortal was able to..then she froze and realised something she hadn’t realised before.
This child before her had demonic blood, it was faint and mutated but it was certainly demonic blood.
Her body lost all strength to resist, only the fear was in her heart now. Very few things in existence can permanently kill a demon.
Their immortality was their blessing but it was also the reason they feared death so much.
Also because of their lack of souls, there was no afterlife for them, death was akin to complete erasure.
Adrian sunk his teeth into her neck and injected her with his venom. She looked up at him with begging eyes.
She knew from his memories what this venom could do and it was already working.
Adrain grinned with cruelty that made her wonder who was the demon between them.
