Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 205: A Coincidental Encounter
Chapter 205: A Coincidental Encounter
The next day, Brooke went to her filming location but was told that Dylan hadn’t stopped by. Some of the cast tried calling him, but he wasn’t answering. Brooke was just on her way to meet with the director, when she bumped into Sadie.
The director’s words played in her mind, filming had been on for almost a week and Sadie hadn’t once stepped foot on set, save for the day she and president Lucas drove her husband over.
Taking one look at her, she looked somewhat fatigued. Brooke frowned, had those loan sharks been giving her problems? Or was it something about her brother?
"Hey, Sadie it’s like I haven’t seen you in forever. What’s going on?" Brooke asked, gesturing her to the nearest bench.
But Sadie kept a bright smile and remained standing, "I’ve just been feeling a bit under the weather, but I’m fine now."
Brooke rolled her tongue around her mouth, taking a good look at her, the more she did the more she felt something wasn’t right. She reached for her hand, "You know that if you’re going through something, you can always tell me."
"You really worry too much." She said politely, Brooke tried to pry further but she cut the conversation short, "Um, I have a scene to shoot and I’m behind on schedule with the make-up crew."
Although she wanted to pry a bit more she chose to leave the issue at rest for the meantime. "Of course, but let’s meet up after filming, we have so much catching up to do."
She noticed the smile on Sadie’s face drop for a quick second, "O-Of course!" She responded then walked away.
As Brooke made her way to the director she couldn’t think up a reason behind Sadie’s struggling. She wanted to trust her, but a part of her was worried it had something to do with Luther, even though he was out of sight, he wasn’t completely out of mind.
However she had to place her thoughts on hold when she caught up to the director, who seemed to have just gotten off a phone call. And, judging by his dampened demeanor, she could guess it wasn’t a good call.
She contemplated trying again later, but she needed to go see the scene choreographer with Dylan urgently.
"Hi, do you have a moment to spare? I’d like to ask you something, it’s about Dylan." She piped up, drawing his attention to her.
The director nodded, then signalled his assistant to take over while he and Brooke went over to the side to discuss.
"What is it you wanted to ask?" He said, his attention still glued to his phone. freёwebnoѵel.com
Brooke wasted no time to ask, "Do you know how to contact Dylan? We have some scenes scheduled to shoot later and an appointment too."
In response the director bluntly said, "He might not be able to carry on filming for a while, he’s got something personal to take care of."
"Personal? Is it anything serious? Is he okay?" Even though he had a foul mouth, he helped stand up to Damien for her sake and he always showed up to filming even when she wasn’t taking it as seriously.
Scratching the back of his head, he let out a huff, "He’s at the hospital, a loved one got admitted last night. The kid hasn’t gotten a wink of sleep ever since, I would be there with him now but..." he took a look at Damien, who had surprisingly been looking at them in turn.
Brooke nodded, "But you’re worried about the kid."
"He’s had a rough hand at life, I think he deserves some good given to him every once in a while."
Hearing those words Brooke suggested, "If it isn’t an issue, can I go see him?"
The director furrowed his brows, "I don’t think that’s appropriate, he’s very sensitive and hates airing his personal issues. It’s best you waited until he was ready."
But Brooke shook her head, "He’s my co-worker, and just a kid at that too. It can be very dangerous to leave him in that kind of situation on his own. He doesn’t know it, but he shouldn’t be alone now of all times." She said speaking from her experience of working at Luther’s agency.
From her time there working with the staff and the artists, she learned a great deal on talent management. Hence why she had a good relationship with Sadie and most of the other talents.
After a bit of thinking, the director sighed in defeat, "Alright, take some food to him and go check up on how he’s doing."
A smile painted Brooke’s lips, "Thank you director!" She told him, then took the details of hospital.
Stepping into the hospital, Brooke made for the receptionist’s desk to ask the necessary questions. She stood next to an older looking man who had his face nearly glued to the form he was filling out.
After watching him struggle with reading for a while Brooke softly intervened, "Um, excuse me sir, can I help you with that?"
The old man raised his head, and the shock in his eyes matched that of Brooke when she saw it was the same man she met back in Thane’s country.
"It’s you!"
"It’s you!"
They both pointed at each other, drinking in each other’s features.
Brooke gasped and covered her mouth, of all the people she could’ve ran into at this hospital, she never expected to run into him again.
Julian in turn was at a loss for words over why the wife of the Grayson heir was in this city and at this hospital.
’Or is she here to see her father, I remember Scott saying she was his daughter, but I didn’t think that was true at the time.’ he thought, immediately sensing something strange about the situation.
"It seems we keep running into each other at hospitals." Julian teased, his grin reaching from ear to ear.
Brooke laughed at the funny coincidence, "It must be fate then."
Julian retorted, "Perhaps."
Looking at her from head to toe he raised a brow, Brooke noticed his staring and caught on to what could’ve caused his confusion.
"Ah, I’m no longer using my wheelchair, I’m trying other things." She said, realizing he must’ve been shocked by her walking.
Realizing he had been caught out he flashed her a nervous smile, "That’s great, let me know if you’re facing any difficulties."
"Oh you’ve helped me a lot, I’m the one who wants to apologize about what happened at my in-laws place. You were defending me, but you got insulted in the process." She said referring to Zachiel’s crude remarks.
Julian shook his head, "That? I had long forgotten about it. All this while I was worried about you, those people should be ashamed of their conduct, they’re not worthy of being anyone’s family."
Hearing those words Brooke couldn’t help but smile.
However her smile swiftly faded when the elevator behind Julian parted and out of it came Scott and her aunt Sarah!
