Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 206: His Daughter’s Name
Chapter 206: His Daughter’s Name
Last night, after Julian had spoken with Cassie, he didn’t say a single word to anyone and left the hospital, but promised to come back the next day.
Scott had pounded Serena to get Cassie to talk, but his niece was snobbish and wouldn’t say a single word. And what was worse, Serena did not seem to have her mind in the right place.
In the midst of the chaos, she left to go meet with someone ’important’ and advised Scott to let Cassie rest up first.
’That bitch Serena does she not have a lick of common sense? Who could she be meeting with at a time like this? Why the hell am I suffering so much?’ he balled his fists, shifting his gaze, he clicked his tongue at the sight of Sarah, standing next to him in the elevator.
Afraid of his plan getting foiled, Scott waited for Julian to arrive the next day and immediately went out to greet him.
And as for his sister, he decided to keep a close eye on her, to make sure she didn’t go behind any of their backs to speak to either Brooke or Julian.
Little did he expect to see Brooke standing by the receptionist desk, talking to the very man he did not want her meeting!
Sarah was equally shocked to see Brooke and Julian together, she rushed over to them, wondering if they already knew the truth.
"Brooke! What are you doing here?!" Sarah called out to her, stealing their attention.
Julian hissed and went after her, "That bitch!"
But it was already too late, Brooke and Julian turned around, locking eyes with Sarah and Scott.
"Aunt Sarah, I’m glad to see you." Brooke greeted politely, she looked at Julian who didn’t seem the least bit fazed to see them.
She turned to Scott, the bitter episode of what happened at the Grayson estate plagued her mind. Forcing a smile, she greeted him as well, "Hello, father."
Sarah parted her lips to say something, but Scott cut her off. "You should’ve called and told me you’d be here, I would’ve come get you." As he spoke, Scott’s heart kept pounding.
To Julian, Brooke was his daughter, and by default, Cassie’s cousin. If he or anyone made any slipup and mentioned Cassie being her sister, he knew Julian would catch on.
What was even worse, if Julian made the mistake of calling Cassie his daughter in front of Brooke, then everything would go up in flames.
’Damn you Brooke! You’ve always hated Cassie, why start acting like a good sister now?!’ Scott panicked, his gaze pointed harshly at Sarah, reminding her to keep her mouth shut.
Brooke frowned, what was he talking about? Why was Scott acting like they had been keeping contact? Was it because of Julian?
"I wasn’t planning on staying long or bothering anyone." She replied, as things were she wanted to get a lead on her true father. Knowing someone like Scott, he would stick around so he could tap her dry. But if he found out he was none the wiser, he would disappear again, and she might never get to meet her real father.
Julian spoke up, "I’ve known your father all these years and yet he never told me he had a daughter." he turned to Brooke, "This isn’t right, let’s all go for lunch and catch up."
Brooke frowned, "You know my father?" she asked Julian.
"Yes, he’s been helping me-"
Scott swiftly interjected, "I worked for him while I was overseas, he’s a very generous man that’s helped me a lot."
Brooke once more was shocked, how coincidental was it that Scott knew this man? And why did she feel something was gravely wrong with the way her aunt kept looking at her?
Julian once more proposed, "I’m new to this country, why don’t you show me around?" he asked Brooke.
The idea sounded nice, but Brooke shook her head, "Maybe another time, I’m really busy right now with work."
His expression dampened, "I understand, I was the one imposing too much."
She was willing to spend time with Julian, after all she felt very comfortable with him. However, being anywhere near Scott spelled trouble.
’One embarrassment is enough, I can’t have him getting anymore involved in my family. What if he meets Serena?’ the thought made the hairs on her hand stand.
Her thoughts however was interrupted when Julian spoke up "Sarah, are you alright? You’ve barely said anything, that’s unlike you. Are you that worried about Cassie?"
Cassie?
He knew about her sister? And even from the way he spoke to her aunt, it sounded like he knew her prior.
Sarah turned to Scott who had a warning look on his face. She recalled last night’s conversation with her siblings, right before she inhaled deeply to answer.
"Yes, I’m just shaken up about the whole incident, I’m hoping she’ll pull through." She sheepishly answered, gaining a grin of approval from Scott.
To Julian, Brooke asked, "I forgot, I was helping you with the form you were filling out." She turned to the form laid out on the surface.
Scott tried to answer but Brooke and already picked up the form. "Oh, it’s a visitation form. Who are you here to see?" She guessed that he had maybe come to see Cassie.
Seeing as Scott used to work for him, he might’ve come as an act of good measure to see Cassie. Knowing Scott, she guessed he was abusing Julian’s kindness and trying to get a huge donation out of him.
She wouldn’t put it past him to play the pity card.
However, Brooke got a shock when Julian answered, "I’m here to see my daughter."
Brooke gasped, "Your daughter? Is she okay?"
Julian replied, "I saw her last night but we didn’t have enough time to speak, so I came over today. But I forgot my glasses and couldn’t fill this form."
Brooke nodded, "The receptionist isn’t here either. Don’t worry, I’ll help you fill it in." she reached for the nearest pen and set the paper down.
Scott looked like he had seen a ghost! Why the hell was everyone making his life so difficult?
Just as he tried to take the pen and send Brooke away, she turned to Julian and asked him.
"What’s your daughter’s name? I have to fill it out." Brooke asked, tapping her pen against the form.
Calmly Julian replied, "Oh, her name is..."
