Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 183: Missing Her Husband
Chapter 183: Missing Her Husband
It wasn’t just the eyes on her that wouldn’t let Brooke focus, it was also the concept of blocking. She has always just memorized the lines and poured them into the emotions she interpreted the scene needed.
But having to keep in mind the camera positions while acting made her feel stiff, and she found herself messing up a lot. For one, she hadn’t been walking for more than a decade, and two, she had never once received any professional acting training, so naturally she fell behind.
"Hey Brooke, let’s take a break." Amy, a camera staff said, passing Brooke a bottle of water.
Brooke smiled weakly, "I can still do one more take, I’m starting to get the hang of it."
But Joan, another staff member gently shook her head from side to side, "Come on, you’ll wear yourself out doing this. You’ll get it right, you just need to clear your head."
Amy chimed, "Take a walk outside and get some fresh air." She said passing Brooke the water bottle. "It’s your first time, don’t think too much about it."
Brooke nodded, "Thanks, maybe that’s what I need."
She got up and tossed a glance at Dylan who truly hadn’t moved an inch the entire time keeping true to his word. Brooke reached for her bag and took out her phone. On her way out she turned it on and saw sixteen missed calls from Thane.
In a somewhat hurry she dashed outside to call him back but ended up colliding with Damien, brushing shoulders. Not caring to stop she bowed her head swiftly, "I’m sorry!" She hollered rushing off.
Damien raised a brow, he pictured the face Brooke was making just now and his interest was piqued, "Was that woman always so..."
His assistant cut him off, "How rude that woman is! Should I go bring her back?"
Damien shrugged his shoulders, "No need, leave it be." He replied, walking forward.
His assistant blinked twice, "Damien you’re not going to say anything back?" She was shocked that he wouldn’t say anything to refute her crude behavior.
Damien didn’t answer her and returned back to the scene, leaving his assistant in deep curiosity of why he had the sudden change of heart.
Outside, Brooke called Thane and after the first ring, he answered the call. Or rather, Gilbert picked up the phone on his behalf. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Mrs Grayson is anything wrong? Do you need me to come over?" Gilbert interrogated.
Brooke’s smile dropped. Why was Gilbert with Thane’s phone?
Gilbert answered her thoughts, "Master Grayson is in a meeting with potential investors. You can relay whatever message you have to me, and I’ll properly tell him."
She scratched the back of her neck,"Ah, it’s nothing worth mentioning."
"What time will you be done with filming?" Gilbert asked.
"I think I’ll still be here till five pm." She said, her heart beating fast at the thought of her husband coming over to pick her up.
"Alright, I’ll send a driver twenty minutes earlier." He informed her in a candid tone.
Brooke furrowed her brows, "A driver? Is Thane that busy?" He had promised to pick her up, and she genuinely wanted to see him.
"Master Grayson is extremely busy, starting a business here will take a lot of effort and his time." He explained.
"Alright. But could you tell him to call me as soon as he’s done from his meeting?" Brooke suggested, curling her hair around her finger, hoping for at least that.
She heard a huff sound from the other end, but was unsure if she heard right. "Of course." He said, then abruptly ended the call.
A sigh escaped Brooke’s tired lips at the sound of the call ending. She reclined her head against the nearest wall and took in a deep breath, inhaling all of her tiredness. Then exhaled sharply, letting it all out. "I can do it." She chanted, psyching herself up.
Just before she returned to the filming area, she went to the bathroom in the next building reserved strictly for the whole cast. It served as a changing room, a cafeteria, a resting area and of course the bathroom.
Brooke briskly walked towards the restroom, having half a mind to freshen up and return to filming. Since Sadie didn’t have any scenes, just like Damien, she hadn’t come around.
"I should call her-"
"The hell? She can’t even handle this much? It’s the first day of filming but we’ve been stuck on her second scene for the past hour!"
Brooke paused her hand on the door handle, her chest tightened when she recognized the voice to belong to Amy. She diverted her eyes to the water bottle in her hand, the one she had given her.
"It can’t be helped, she’s sleeping with one of our sponsors, we’re the ones who have to suffer for it." The other voice hissed.
Brooke blinked twice, that was Joan, the other woman from earlier.
"How big of a sponsor is he that president Lucas would allow this?" Amy hissed.
"For such a small production company, I’m sure they’d wag their tails at any bone thrown their way." Joan retorted.
Amy huffed, "Still, can’t she take things seriously? I have my kids waiting at home for me. At this rate we’ll be here for at least another two hours. It’s so unfair to us, who have to stay back and pack up after these self absorbed actors get off set."
Joan sighed, "I have a kid in daycare too, his teacher has been calling for me to come pick him up. But thanks to that social climber, I don’t think any of us will get to go home early..." in the middle of her words, Brooke opened the door and stepped inside.
Instantly, both women keep quiet, their eyes widened in panic, but they did not take back their words nor did they apologize for them either.
Brooke parted her lips to say something, but the words in her heart were too heavy to speak.
Silently, they let themselves out, leaving Brooke lonesome to her thoughts.
