Chapter 956: Chapter 44: Magic Prodigy (Part 3)

But she could easily achieve these things.

Tangze Asuka was intently using her chisel to engrave magic, so focused that she didn’t even realize when Fisher had entered her room. Her Magic Power wasn’t plentiful and was being consumed rapidly, but it was evidently sufficient to complete the engraving of the magic before her.

He quietly closed the door behind him, a subtle and ambiguous expression flashed in his eyes, but he didn’t rashly interrupt her engraving process because, for beginners, this might cause a magical accident.

He retracted the Fluid Sword he had extended and silently moved to her bedside, watching her engrave the magic onto the wall bit by bit.

Her engraving speed was very slow but extremely precise, her chisel moving like flowing water, making Fisher even suspect whether she had previously received training in Magic Engraving...

But she was a Transferee, seemingly the Otherworld didn’t have magic, and she should have encountered magic for the first time here.

Even someone as cautious as Fisher was misjudged; he never would’ve imagined that someone could recreate the entire process after seeing an incomplete Magic Engraving process just once.

As her future title suggested, she seemed to be born with an extraordinary talent for magic, one in a million; at least, Fisher had never encountered anyone like her in the history of human magic.

Fisher stood quietly beside her bed, patiently waiting for her to finish the engraving, while also ensuring she wouldn’t encounter any unexpected accidents.

He stood there for several hours. Even though she could recreate the magic entirely, she was still an ordinary human without formal training. Whether it was her Soul Strength or theoretical knowledge, both made her progress difficult. However, her excessive focus cleverly resolved this issue, and just as her Magic Power was about to be exhausted, the [Wind] magic on the wall finally took shape.

"Ha... Ha... Ha... So tired."

She rubbed her eyes in fatigue, placing her hand, sore from gripping the chisel, down. She blankly stared at the emblem on the wall, not even knowing what it was for.

Before she could fully dissipate her fatigue, Fisher’s calm voice suddenly emerged from behind her,

"When did you learn this?"

"Ah!"

She turned her head in fright, her face pale and drenched with cold sweat due to her drained Magic Power. Her gaze was somewhat vacant as she saw only half of Fisher’s expressionless, handsome face in the shadow of the moonlight. He was intently viewing the emblem on the wall. Even though Tangze Asuka was almost exhausted, she was still quite startled and hastily responded,

"F-Fisher... Mr. Fisher... When did you... come in?"

"Several hours ago, right when you began the Magic Engraving."

"Several hours? Has it been... that long? I thought only ten minutes had passed... Moreover, what is magic? Was what I just engraved magic?"

Fisher gave a speechless glance at the sweaty Tangze Asuka, saying,

"You dared to engrave magic knowing nothing, and still without my awareness. I can’t tell if it’s ignorance or bravery. Do you know that with a slight slip, this thing could drain you, turning you into a dry corpse... So, when did you learn this?"

Tangze Asuka dared not look Fisher in the eye, thinking her secretive learning had angered him. She quietly said,

"I... I don’t know either. I’m not sure if I really learned it. I just wanted to try, and then I engraved it... Mr. Fisher, I’m sorry..."

"Why apologize?"

Tangze Asuka slightly raised her head to look at Fisher, who was still observing the magic she had engraved, then said softly,

"Because Mr. Fisher seems a bit... upset. If this troubles Mr. Fisher, I won’t... engrave such things in the future."

Not upset?

Fisher glanced at Tangze Asuka, sitting on the bed, dripping with sweat, cautiously watching him, unsure whether she was the little deer or whether the deer outside was the little deer.

Perhaps he did have some emotions, but definitely not upset; it was just about the future identity of this girl in front of him. Just the thought that she might become the president of the Creation Society, possibly due to his actions, left him somewhat at a loss for words.

Maybe if Renie were to tell him clearly whether his actions here shaped the future, he wouldn’t feel so conflicted.

The girl before him, Tangze Asuka, again pursed her lips, gently hugged her knees on the bed, continuously watching him. Fisher perceived her habitual body language; instead of directly answering, he sat down beside her and said,

"Tangze, to me, knowledge is not a monopoly. I, too, came from ordinary and poor beginnings, so of course, I wouldn’t be upset about you mastering this skill; you possess an unimaginably extraordinary talent. I’m just not sure whether letting it blossom is a good or bad thing."

Tangze Asuka, hugging her knees, turned her head towards Fisher. On his face, Tangze only saw serious contemplation. After a moment’s silence, she turned around and smiled at Fisher, saying,

"Talent, huh? I... never thought this word would be associated with me. In that case, let Mr. Fisher decide. I still don’t know much about this world, so I can’t make any decisions. If this is a bad thing, then forget it... After all, I wasn’t born with any talent, so it wouldn’t matter if I never had it in the future, either."
