Demi-human Girls Completion Manual-Chapter 957 - 44: Magic Prodigy (Part 4)
"...Aren’t you afraid I might plot against you? You could lose a good ally."
Upon hearing Fisher’s words, Tangze Asuka immediately blinked and pursed her lips, hesitantly and cutely said,
"No... I wouldn’t think so?"
Fisher smiled slightly, and instead of answering yes or no, he said,
"You remind me of a former student of mine."
"Mr. Fisher used to be a teacher?"
"A professor."
"Ah, I... this is my first time meeting a living professor."
"She was also a Whale-man, kind-hearted like you, but a bit silly too."
Fisher was clearly talking about Moli.
Tangze Asuka pouted, the tension dissolved by the conversation. She mumbled with a somewhat blackened face,
"I’m not silly, okay? I’m actually quite impressive... when other girls bullied me, I would mumble curses against them."
"Does your religion have such curses?"
"...No, those curses were my own creation, probably not very effective, just a way to scare them. It made things a bit better for me at school because I heard they would take bullied kids to the restroom to beat them up, steal their lunch... I didn’t want that."
Fisher was momentarily taken aback upon hearing this. He glanced back at the Magic Emblem on the wall that was faintly glowing, and after a brief pause, he seemed to make a decision,
"Would you like to learn some that are truly effective?"
"Eh, curses? Mr. Fisher knows curses?"
Renie knows curses, not me. Fisher thought to himself but only shook his head and replied,
"Not curses, but magic."
Tangze Asuka opened her mouth slightly, seemingly not yet understanding why Fisher made this sudden choice. Her gaze couldn’t penetrate the dark room; she could only hear his calm voice,
"I have experience teaching students. You have a very strong magic talent and are destined to walk this path and go far on it. But talent alone isn’t enough; you need knowledge to support your talent, diligence, and the right magical perspective. I can provide you with these... So, are you willing to learn magic with me, Tangze Asuka?"
Fisher had already witnessed Tangze Asuka’s terrifying magical talent, which deeply impressed him with the uniqueness of this Transferee before him. He also knew that even without him, Tangze Asuka would inevitably walk this path.
He hadn’t yet witnessed the so-called "Whisper’s" influence. He was just considering if, with his correct guidance, he could reduce the potential impact of those chaotic pieces of knowledge imparted by the Whisper.
"Yes! I want to study... that magic, Mr. Fisher!"
Tangze Asuka became quite excited upon hearing this. It seemed she wasn’t entirely accepting of the option of having "no talent in the future" as she claimed.
Just like asking a boy if he would press the button and transform into light when an Ultraman Transformation Device is placed before him, without burden or consequence.
Yes, the answer might be obvious.
"Don’t get too excited, learning magic isn’t an easy task. It means there are lots of theories you need to understand and memorize, lots of practice and exercises to complete. Learning is a painful process, and based on my observation, you’re not particularly good at studying... But don’t worry, I’ll help you overcome that."
"Oh..."
Tangze Asuka’s excitement was instantly dampened. She might have thought that learning magic was as easy and fun as it was often skipped over in anime, not realizing that studying magic was similar to learning math.
Overall, she still felt excited, especially as she was just beginning to encounter the powers of the Otherworld,
"So Mr. Fisher, what can magic do? Can it transform people? Or summon creatures?"
"No..."
Just as Fisher was about to respond to this somewhat naive question from the little magic apprentice beside him, he suddenly felt an unimaginable sense of unease, as if his heartbeat exploded in his ears, warning him that death had caught up again.
"Boom!"
"Ah, an earthquake?!"
Before Fisher could react, Tangze Asuka had already skillfully stood up for some reason, finding a place to hide as if she had experienced countless earthquakes before.
With the intense shaking of the wooden house around them, the entire Chun Country began to tremble.
As the saying goes, bad luck can make even cold water get stuck in your teeth, and wouldn’t you know it, the magic that Tangze Asuka had just inscribed on the wall behind them suddenly brightened as if agitated by the shifting environment, instantly triggering a gust of wind that swept towards Tangze Asuka.
Four-Ring Wind Magic, Gale Wind Sweep.
As she ran, her white robe flipped up, revealing her fair skin and a cute bear-patterned underwear she hadn’t changed. Her face turned bright red, and she squealed as she tried to cover the flying robe, but the next moment she was swept into the air by the gale wind,
"Ahhhh! Don’t look... ughhhh!"
"Boom!"
The sound of violent collapsing houses and Tangze Asuka’s screams didn’t interrupt the thundering force erupting from Fisher’s Thirteen Rank. He extended his Fluid Sword, catching Tangze Asuka in mid-air into his arms, and with a leap like an explosion from his feet, they shot out of the house.
Tangze Asuka’s face was pressed tightly against Fisher’s chest. The heat from his body and the earth’s upheaval outside made her face alternately flush and pale.
Before she could even extricate herself bewilderedly from his enveloping masculine aura, Fisher had already whisked her outside of the room, where the situation was even worse.
In the shadows of the distant night, the enormous tree behind Uncle Chun’s Palace was actually swaying, about to crush down upon the entire Capital of Chun Country.
