Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Fine, If You Won’t Come, I’ll Go to You

"Baby, where are you going? You’re not fully recovered yet, don’t run off!"

Vanessa Grant chased Isaac Vaughn downstairs, stamping her feet anxiously.

Ansel Vaughn happened to come back from outside and bumped into Isaac.

Vanessa hurriedly shouted for him to block their son.

Ansel spoke coldly, "Where are you going?"

Isaac’s face looked unpleasant, his brows furrowed with anger. He attempted to brush past his dad without saying a word.

"Stop right there!"

Ansel was immediately furious.

Isaac stopped, gritting his teeth. He took a deep breath and turned his head, "I have something to do outside."

"What is it?" Ansel looked at him with dissatisfaction and anger in his eyes, "Your mother is worried about you. Can’t you just stay home and ease her mind?"

"All this time, you haven’t improved at all. Just reckless, acting like a fool!"

The situation was getting tense.

Vanessa quickly walked over, grabbing Isaac’s arm, "Baby, come back with mom, don’t make your dad angry."

Isaac looked at his mom, his expression apologetic, "Mom, I really have to go out."

Natalie Kendall was walking into the fire, and he couldn’t not go.

"Dare you!" Ansel glared, veins throbbing at his temples, "I dare you to step out of this house today!"

Isaac met his dad’s gaze with a cold look, clenching his fists tightly at his sides.

As he slightly moved, his mom held his arm tightly.

"Baby, what’s wrong with you? What’s so important that you have to go out?"

Isaac tried to pull his mom’s arm away but didn’t dare to use too much force.

Just as they were at a stalemate, Vanessa caught sight of a figure entering and immediately shouted, "Nat, come over and help me stop him!"

At the sound, Isaac turned his head to look.

Natalie Kendall stood a few steps away, with a perplexed look on her face, seemingly unaware of what was happening.

A momentary relief settled in Isaac’s heart.

"Mom, I’m not going out anymore." He moved his arm and said to his mother, "Let go of me, I’m going upstairs."

"Uh?" Vanessa was also bewildered.

She didn’t understand why her son suddenly changed his mind.

Not long ago, he was ready to defy his father to leave.

Now he casually said he wasn’t going anymore.

——

Isaac returned to his room and waited, waiting a long time before there was finally a knock.

Two light knocks.

The sound was almost inaudible.

If he hadn’t been standing by the door, he might not have heard it.

Opening the door with one hand, he grabbed the wrist of the person outside and pulled them in with the other.

The door closed.

Natalie asked him, "What was that about? Did you have a fight with your parents?"

Isaac didn’t answer, just stared at her with deep eyes.

Natalie blinked and saw a bead of sweat drip down from his temple, so she tiptoed slightly to wipe it off.

Isaac abruptly grasped her wrist, his voice sullen, "Where did you go?"

"The hotel."

She answered without any evasion.

Isaac’s eyes turned cold.

The phone call from her little uncle, she clearly heard the content.

All those vile thoughts, she knew as well.

Why did she still go?

Isaac pulled Natalie to the bed, his voice cold and devoid of warmth, "Take off your clothes."

Natalie frowned, her eyes full of resistance, "Why?"

"You tell me why." He gripped her shoulders, his eyes sharp and staring at her, "I want to see how much Jason Grant got to you!"

He didn’t even call him uncle anymore.

Just addressed him by name.

He was really angry.

Natalie couldn’t help but pat his shoulder, "What nonsense are you thinking? My teacher helped me arrange another translation job, and I went to the hotel to meet with the other party just now."

Jason Grant did have a romantic candlelit dinner planned at the hotel.

But the target wasn’t her, it was a newly hooked little model.

Unaware of the details, Vanessa had a driver take her over.

As fate would have it, the meeting place she had to attend was at that hotel.

So while Jason Grant was upstairs in a suite with the model, she was downstairs in the restaurant, meeting with the liaison, and smoothly securing the job.

Natalie looked at Isaac, her expression suddenly turning cold.

Returning the command he had just given, "Take off your clothes."

Isaac raised an eyebrow.

*

With his shirt off, his chest and back were covered in overlapping bruises, looking quite alarming.

Ansel Vaughn had indeed been heavy-handed.

Natalie applied medicinal alcohol on him, her soft, delicate hands rubbing and pressing.

Isaac deliberately let out a sound, making her face flush and her heart race.

A woman’s moan can provoke a stronger reaction in a man, and the reverse is also true.

Putting down the medicinal alcohol, Natalie wiped her fingers clean with a wet tissue, then prepared to leave.

Isaac embraced her from behind, his lips near her ear, "Come over tonight, hmm?"

After all, they were in The Vaughn Residence; they should be careful to maintain distance, in case they were discovered.

So Natalie refused.

Isaac snorted, "Fine, if you don’t come, I’ll go to you."

Natalie, fearing he might actually come, volunteered to go to the hospital to accompany Old Mr. Grant after dinner.

Vanessa was touched, praising her for being so dutiful.

While Isaac was left gritting his teeth in frustration, his gaze wished he could swallow her whole.

——

The next day, as Natalie left the hospital, a low-profile black Volkswagen Phaeton drove up.

The driver came down from the driver’s seat, opened the rear door respectfully, and invited her in.

Natalie did not resist, bending down to get in.

An hour later.

The car drove into a private manor halfway up Mount Corvix, stopping at the villa entrance.

The driver got out first to open Natalie’s car door.

Natalie stepped down, looked at the grand entrance, and walked inside.

"Miss, this way."

The housekeeper led her to the study.

Inside, two well-known industry lawyers were already waiting for her.

As soon as Natalie entered, the two lawyers stood up to greet her.

"Hello, Miss Kendall."

Natalie nodded in response.

A thick pile of documents lay on the table.

Natalie sat down, and the two lawyers took their seats across from her.

"Miss Kendall, let me first explain to you..."

"No need." Natalie interrupted the lawyer, picking up the pen beside her, "I just need to sign, right?"

The lawyer hesitated for a moment, then said, "Yes."

The documents were indeed numerous, leaving Natalie’s hand a bit sore after signing.

Finally done with the last document, the study door opened.

Seeing the visitor, she stood up, and at the same time, the two lawyers also rose, respectfully greeting, "Old Mr. Beckett."

Sebastian Beckett signaled for the lawyers to leave.

After they were gone, Natalie walked up to Sebastian and called out, "Grandfather."

"Hmm." Sebastian looked at the documents on the table, "All signed?"

"Yes, grandfather."

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Matthew Beckett entered.

Seeing the documents on the table, a dark look flashed in his eyes.

"Dad, I came to check on you, how’s your health?"

"Not dying yet." Sebastian’s attitude towards his son was quite cold.

Matthew showed an awkward smile, addressing Natalie, "Nat, what did grandfather gift you this time?"
