Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 137
Chapter 137: Chapter 137
Headmaster’s office...
"What happened last night? Does anyone have any idea about that?" Viren Ebonblade asked the others who were gathered in his office.
He was obviously asking the gathered personnel about the lightning that appeared the previous night.
"If you have any ideas, please tell me", he spoke, "I have a meeting to attend this afternoon with the Alliance Officials to discuss about this".
If there was even a small speculation about this, then that would be good for his part when the discussion takes place. So, he asked others if they knew anything about this.
"It looked like Undead Lightning", Lyanna spoke suddenly.
Viren nodded his head, "That is true. Though I couldn’t confirm whether it was Undead Lightning or not, I can say that the visual characteristics were similar to the Undead Lightning".
"No, that’s not what I meant. When I watched that lightning, I felt a tinge in my heart, as if it was calling me. It was not just me, other Death Professionals I consulted with felt this, but all of them who felt are those who failed to complete the Rank-7 promotion mission".
"Others, even if they were near to peak of Rank-6, they felt nothing", Lyanna explained.
"This could be very serious, probably has to do with the upcoming upgradation of the world. The alliance has already seen signs of world improvement. It won’t be long before everyone in the world will see and know about this", Viren said.
The others nodded in agreement. The crisis was nearing, and to them, the lightning was a warning about the upcoming crisis.
"Okay, it’s time for me to leave for the meeting. After the meeting, I can probably tell you what it was or what measures were being taken to survive if a danger of such proportions were to happen in the future", Viren said as he stood up.
The other nodded and left one by one. Once they were gone, Viren too left for the meeting.
After they left, a shadow rose from the shadows, "I felt a trace of master here last night, but before I could find master, that trace was gone. I thought that one of these old geezers might be the one, but I was wrong".
"Though I didn’t find the master, I believe this place is the best place where I could master after all. It was, after all, teeming with Death Professionals. Master could be any one of them or maybe associated with them. Let’s wait and see".
After thinking that, the shadow disappeared into the shadows. No one knew about this shadow’s presence, not even the headmaster.

Eighteen Days later...
Tomorrow morning would be the time for the departure of the five-member team that would be participating in the Inter-academy tournament. They would leave along with a few teachers acting as chauffeurs.
Aaron worked very hard in the few days that he had. He thought that Viren would find trouble with him after he woke up from his injuries, but he didn’t. Aaron was not surprised by that.
A few months ago, when Aaron won the competition, Viren sent others to do the dirty work, making him blameless. Now, with everyone’s eyes on Aaron and the other four, he can’t make any moves. He could only wait for a while before he could.
Aaron knew that, too. So, he was relaxed without worrying about his safety.
Viren was weaker than him, and in a few weeks, the gap between them would become even larger. So, there was no reason to fear him.
Without any worries that could bother him, Aaron was able to achieve a lot. This is everything that Aaron was able to achieve before the day of departure.

Before the date for departure arrived, Aaron was able to improve his level to 145, a total of 15 levels. It gave him 30,000 FSPs and 12,000 SPs.
He dumped 50,000 FSPs in the luck, which raised its value to 5.
Though he was not sure how good or bad his original luck was, he was sure that 5 should be at least considered average if not good, as the other attributes are at the value of 10 in the beginning before awakening.
So, he assumed that the luck should be similar, and the max anyone would have naturally would be 10. If the max natural luck value was only 5, then that would mean he is one of the luckiest men alive, but he was not so sure about that.
In the same manner, there is a chance that the natural luck value could be at 100, but that sounded absurd than the maximum to be at 5.
If the max was 100, and when he had only 3, he shouldn’t have gotten so many good things in life. Though people looked down on him due to his class, other things are going pretty good for him.
This made him sure that the max natural luck value might not be 100.
Other than Luck, he improved other attributes as usual.
Coming to the skills, he had a total of 12,010 SPs due to the increase in level.
Death Lash improved to Rank 6 on its own, due to multiple usage of the skill during combat. The Summon Skeleton was already at Silver Rank 1. So, these two didn’t need any improvements.
Mana Ball increased a rank due to Aaron using it during practice a lot of times.
The best skill that remained, which could actually improve his combat power, was Summon Ghost, but it was already at Bronze Rank 7. Having too many undead, Aaron felt that he was more like a Necromancer, rather than a Death Mage.
So, he decided to ignore that for now.
The best skills that needed improvement were Death’s Disguise, Mana Regeneration, Dual Cast, Death Gaze, Death Drain, Insights, and Death Prison.
Every one of them is important to improve his Death Mage power and Insights, though it has nothing to do with any, it can improve his chances of survival out there. So, he decided to improve all of them.
First, Death’s Disguise, which was at Rank 6, he directly improved that to Bronze Rank 1. For that, he consumed 1,100 SPs.
Next, Dual Cast, which was at Rank 7, was improved to Bronze Rank 1, which consumed 1,000 SPs.
Next were Death Drain and Insights, which were at Rank 9, improved to bronze Rank 1, which consumed 1,000 SPs in total.
Death Prison, which was at Rank 5, he improved that to Bronze Rank 1, which consumed 1,140 SPs.
Mana Regeneration and Death Gaze, which were at Bronze Rank 1, were now at Bronze Rank 4, which cost him a total of 4,400 SPs.
Though there are a few thousand SPs, he decided to leave them alone for now. If the skills are enough to get the first rank in the tournament, then he would use them. For now, these are for any new skills that he might find in the next few days, after all, for the tournament, they have to go to the capital, the largest economy in the world.
