Day of Departure...

"Okay, everyone is here", Vice-Headmistress Lyanna appeared before the five students who arrived at the academy entrance, "It’s time to leave, follow me".

For all five participants, information regarding the departure was given a few days prior.

The group was supposed to leave the academy early in the morning, and everyone was supposed to be at the academy’s entrance by 7 A.M.

The tournament would be held in Valora, the capital city, and travel by train would take five days. That is why they set a week before the start of the tournament.

There are no daily trains between Dusk City and City of Valora. The one that would take them before the start of the tournament is the one that comes today. The ones that come later would arrive in Valora after the tournament starts. That can’t be done.

The team are competitors, not spectators who wouldn’t lose much of anything if they come late. So, the tickets were booked for the train that would arrive before the start of the tournament, even though they would have to halt their training a few days prior.

The students followed Lyanna to the outside of the academy. Along with them, two more staff members from the academy would follow them to the tournament.

Lyanna is, after all, the vice-headmistress. It would create a bad reputation for the academy if it were seen that she was doing all the chores during the tournament. Those roles would be filled by the two who were tagging along, while she would mingle with the officials of the alliance and other top leaders of the academies that would arrive along with their students.

As they stepped out, there was a van waiting for them just outside the gate.

The reason the van was waiting outside was that it was not allowed into the academy. In fact, no vehicles are allowed to move inside the academy. This is why they had to leave the academy to get on a van.

"Archie, we are here. Take us to the Train Station, prompto", Lyanna issued orders to the driver as soon as all of them got on to the van.

This was not a public vehicle, but was hired by the academy especially to take the group from the academy to the train station without any delays.

"Aye, aye, Ma’am", Archie responded and started the van.

The sleeping engines stirred, and the van started to move as the passengers took their seats.

With no stops or delays in between the academy to the train station, the group arrived at the station very fast.

In normal situations, it would take a long time, either because of traffic delays or because if the van was used as public transport, it had to stop at transit stations to pick up or drop off passengers.

"We are here", Archie shouted as soon as the van reached the train station.

The van couldn’t go to the main entrance to drop them off, as that could cause congestion. So, no vehicles were allowed to approach the entrances of train stations. He had to drop them off a few meters away from the entrance.

"Okay everyone, it’s time to get off the van", Lyanna spoke as everyone got off. She then turned to the driver, "Thanks for the drop Archie".

"Any time, Ma’am", Archie responded, as he started to turn around the van to leave.

This was just a drop off, not waiting for someone’s arrival. If he stayed a bit longer, the guards would fine him, which he had to pay from his pocket, as the job he was hired to do was done, and the academy would no longer be on the hook.

As the van was leaving, the group entered the train station.

The group started at roughly around 7 A.M. and the train would depart the Dusk City station at 8 A.M.

Luckily, the traffic was less in the morning and they were able to arrive at the station within twenty minutes. There was still more than half an hour for the train to depart. So, they walked slowly.

Soon, they arrived at the platform, where their train would arrive and where they have to board the train.

"Okay everyone, the train would arrive in half an hour. If you want to buy anything for the journey like snacks or some magazines, go and buy them but return before time, or we would leave without you", Lyanna warned them.

He was not someone who would waste his already small wallet on food that he can prepare himeself. The meals during the train travel would be covered by the academy and the snacks, those weren’t but he made them the previous night before going to sleep.

He went to buy some magazines, which would give him news about what was happening in the world and at the same time pass the time during the travel.

Half an hour later, train arrived at the station without any delay.

It would stay at the station for almost ten minutes and depart at eight. The reason for the ten minute stay was simple. This is a major station in the alliance and the goods that would be offloading here and the ones that would be placed in the train would be a lot.

So, the train would stop at major stations for a few more minutes than it would at less important ones.

The group quickly boarded the train, and found their seats.

The academy booked two cabins for the group. Each cabin has four beths, two lower and two upper berths. The group consisted of five students and three teachers, which makes eight, perfect for the group to travel without worrying about any outsiders.

Among the five students, including Erika, there is another girl but among the staff only Lyanna was the girl. It made five men and three women in the group.

The two teachers who came along were assigned to stay with the other two boys were arranged to stay in the same cabin, while Aaron was assigned to stay with the girls in the other cabin.

"What in the world is happening? Why are there always girls everywhere? Why weren’t there no one before I awakened", Aaron couldn’t help but think that.

In the school he got no girlfriends. No girl showed interest in him and he was never part of a team with girls whenever there was a group activity in the school.

It was only a few months since he awakened, but everywhere he looks, there are girls around him, which made him wonder about why that was happening.
