The next day, the weather was quite nice.

Mia Sutton sat in the car, feeling inexplicably anxious. She had already anticipated that her parents would be quite angry; she could imagine the suffocating scene.

Beside her, Jensen Sterling watched her nervousness and smiled gently, softly reassuring her, "It’s okay, just relax. I’ll talk to your parents when the time comes."

After Jensen finished speaking, the room was silent for several seconds before Simon Sutton spoke softly, "Please have a seat."

The house was so quietly still, even the air felt terrifyingly silent, and Mia sat properly.

She tentatively spoke, "Dad..." then looked at Ashley Vance, "Mom...?"

Simon Sutton and Ashley Vance both responded, but their tone was so indifferent that it sent a chill down Mia’s back.
