Jensen Sterling’s hand holding the phone paused for a moment, his expression cracked for an instant, unsure of how to speak.
Meanwhile, the bathroom door opened, and Mia Sutton was wiping her still slightly dripping hair with a towel, tilting her neck slightly.
She asked crisply, "Mr. Sterling, who is it?"
On the other end of the line, Holly Sutton was so furious that he felt like his lungs were going to explode, his hand gripping the phone with knuckles cracking, his face as dark as night.
Holly had been sent abroad for training by the hospital for the past few months and was not in the country, only returning this morning.
After work, as usual, he greeted his colleagues, then noticed a few people gathered at the nurse’s station, watching something.
Curious, he approached to take a look, and unexpectedly saw his sister on the screen.
The nurses noticed him watching and asked with a smile, "Dr. Sutton, do you like watching these things too?"
Holly straightened up: "Not really, just saw you all hadn’t left after work, was curious about what interesting things you were watching."
One of the nurses said, "I’m on the night shift."
"This is a variety show I’ve been following recently, called ’Shining Stars.’ Charlotte Lee sent me this video."
She placed her hand by her mouth and whispered, blinking, "Dr. Sutton, I’m just watching a little, please don’t tell the supervisor."
Holly chuckled lightly, tapping his fingers twice on the nurse’s desk, pointing behind him, and whispered, "The supervisor is coming out soon, just behind."
The nurse immediately put away her phone and made an OK gesture.
"Thank you, Dr. Sutton."
Their department’s supervisor was very strict, otherwise, they wouldn’t be so afraid.
Holly said goodbye to them and then turned to head downstairs.
Who would’ve thought, just a few months ago, she wasn’t even a rising star?
Once in the car, Holly picked up his phone and searched for the show’s name the nurse had mentioned.
Mia Sutton, being the current front-runner of the show, naturally had significant popularity and buzz.
A search yielded various stage and show behind-the-scenes clips, along with some scattered videos.
Leaning back on the car seat, Holly scoffed, his fingers opening video after video, watching them one by one.
After watching the stage videos, Holly chuckled, teasingly saying, "Not bad at all."
Then he clicked on the last video, which was a compilation from a live stream featuring Mia Sutton and Lynn Joyner, with Mia alone on the thumbnail.
Upon opening it, Holly noticed the person on the screen, and his expression changed for a moment as his fingertips tapped lightly.
His face turned cold, lips pressed together; the video’s sound still played in the car but his mood was downcast.
The video was edited by Mia Sutton’s fan, mostly containing shots of Mia, the screen dimmed just as Holly was about to put down his phone.
Suddenly, the phone emitted a "bro" and Holly’s hand paused abruptly, eyes widening at the screen.
What the hell?!
Who was Mia calling bro, and with such affection!
She never called me like that.
Sure enough, it was the part where Mia called Jensen Sterling, followed by a man’s voice.
Holly: "..."
After several seconds, he let out a bitter laugh, suppressing his anger as he finished watching the video.
Said it was expressing affection.
After finishing, Holly set aside his earlier emotions and immediately dialed Mia’s number.
She’s got some nerve!
He’s going to find out who that son of a... is!
