Chapter 126: Can’t Think of a Title Anymore

After dinner, Mia Sutton lay contentedly on the sofa, craning her neck to glance at the kitchen, where Jensen Sterling was washing the dishes.

Mia smacked her lips, feeling quite comfortable.

Once everything was tidied up, and Jensen Sterling came out, Mia patted the spot beside her, her voice cheerful as she said, "Jensen, come sit over here."

In Jensen Sterling’s gaze, the young girl, petite and cross-legged on the sofa, was smiling with eyes curved like crescents, waving at him.

His fingers at his side unconsciously rubbed together, then he stretched his long legs, walked over in a few strides, sat down beside her, and looked at her with lowered eyes.

In a soft voice, he asked, "What’s up?"

Mia picked up her phone and handed it to him, pointing to a video, "Look at this, isn’t this really funny?" Her voice tinged with laughter as she spoke. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Jensen lowered his eyes to glance at the phone; it was a funny skit. He watched it seriously, then said, "Yeah, it’s pretty funny."

Mia just wanted to share something amusing she saw with the person beside her, and after hearing his agreement, she pulled her hand back and continued scrolling through TikTok.

Jensen looked at the person next to him, his gaze softening unconsciously. After a while, he went to the study to fetch a laptop.

He continued to sit beside her; on one sofa sat two people — one holding a phone watching short videos, the other with a laptop on his lap working.

Mia would share something interesting with Jensen from time to time, and Jensen never got annoyed, always watching seriously and even sometimes laughing along with her.

The atmosphere between the two seemed extremely harmonious.

Before they knew it, it was past ten in the evening, and Mia, upon checking her phone, was a bit surprised, blinking twice — did time pass so quickly?

She then placed her phone aside, moving her somewhat numb foot, and leaned over to see what Jensen was doing.

Jensen looked up from the computer screen: "Finished watching?"

Mia: "Yeah, it’s just that I’ve been sitting too long, my foot’s numb."

She spoke in a low voice, with a hint of complaint, yet it didn’t come across as spoiled, more like a cat playfully whining.

Jensen initially thought to offer a foot rub, but then saw the girl swiftly slide off the sofa and stomped her foot in place a few times.

While stomping, she sucked in her breath quietly, probably really numb.

"Jensen, you keep busy, I’m going to take a shower first."

Jensen nodded: "Go ahead."

He then watched the girl hop towards the bathroom.

Jensen refocused his attention on the computer, but after a while, found himself unfocused, perhaps due to the absence of someone beside him.

Unable to concentrate, he simply closed the laptop, placing it on the coffee table nearby.

He then also opened his phone, browsed through some short videos, watched a few seconds, and thought... it wasn’t that interesting.

Ultimately, he set everything aside, leaned back against the sofa, and closed his eyes slightly, pretending to nap.

Before long, he heard the gentle sound of running water, again and again, causing Jensen to frown slightly and open his eyes.

How come he never noticed the bathroom’s soundproofing was so poor before? Should he file a complaint?

If the property management found out: "..."

No, don’t say that, no one’s ever mentioned poor soundproofing in their complex!

They used the best materials, so the soundproofing is definitely top-notch!
