Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 725: No fever, why is your face so red?
Ji Wei wanted to refuse, but the hand resting by her side was suddenly seized by him. She looked up in surprise, unsure of his intention.
Mo Qian held her hand firmly, directing it to linger above the drawer, and finally their clasped hands landed on a light pink tie.
"Let’s pick this one."
Mo Qian spoke lightly, glancing sideways at her.
Ji Wei was a little taken aback. He actually chose such a girly-colored tie... She couldn’t imagine how someone as stoic and composed as Mr. Gu would look wearing a pink tie. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
While Ji Wei was still dazing, Mo Qian had already skillfully tied the tie.
"The tie clips are in the drawer next to it. Get me one." Mo Qian suddenly said.
Ji Wei raised her eyes to look at him, confirming he was addressing her, and only then did she belatedly pull open the adjacent drawer.
As expected, the drawer also contained an assortment of tie clips, some adorned with diamonds, others in minimalist designs.
Not wanting to admit her indecision, Ji Wei selected a simple and elegant silver one. She held the tie clip in her palm and then turned to hand it to him. "Here."
"Mrs. Gu’s choice of color suits me perfectly." Mo Qian’s brows arched slightly as he offered praise without reservation.
Ji Wei lifted her gaze in slight surprise, only to meet his deep and intense stare. Seeing that he wasn’t reaching out to take the tie clip, she extended her hand a little further.
Mo Qian smiled softly. "Mrs. Gu, would you mind fastening it for me?"
Ji Wei parted her lips, intending to refuse.
But as the man’s gentle and profound gaze settled on her, filled with quiet anticipation, she found herself unable to resist.
"Alright."
She exhaled, lowered her head, and carefully fastened the tie clip for him.
Mo Qian remained silent, his eyes fixed on her movements.
"It’s done. I’m leaving." At that moment, all Ji Wei wanted was to leave this room swiftly.
From the moment Mo Qian appeared in the dressing room, she’d had this urge.
Because every time she stepped in here, Ji Wei would recall the things she and Mo Qian had done before.
Even though it had been quite some time, she could still remember every detail—how Mo Qian had lifted her onto the cabinet nearby, his whispers grazing her ears.
Back then, under Mo Qian’s teasing, she had been so moved, her whole body softening as if she’d melted into a puddle.
Thinking about it now still made her blush and her heartbeat accelerate.
Just as Ji Wei was about to turn away, her hand was once again caught by Mo Qian. The man raised his other hand to check her forehead. "No fever—why is your face so red?"
Hearing his words, Ji Wei’s face grew even redder and warmer.
"It’s too hot in here." She offered an improvised excuse, but her evasive gaze betrayed her unease.
"Really?" Mo Qian’s voice carried a playful lilt.
The air conditioning was on; how could it be hot?
"Uh-huh..."
Ji Wei murmured weakly.
Seeing the woman before him with her gaze lowered, unwilling to meet his eyes, the amusement in Mo Qian’s expression deepened.
She still wasn’t very good at lying—exposed in an instant.
Mo Qian suddenly leaned forward, moving closer to her. His warm breath brushed against her cheek as he spoke in a low voice, "Mrs. Gu, thank you."
Thank—thank her for what?
Ji Wei looked at him, puzzled.
But Mo Qian had no intention of explaining. His thin lips drew ever closer, and before Ji Wei could react, he kissed her.
A lingering kiss pressed deeply against her soft lips before Mo Qian reluctantly released her.
Ji Wei’s cheeks instantly flushed as red as they could possibly get. She swiftly freed her hand from his grasp, lowered her head in embarrassment, and walked away in a fluster.
Mo Qian stayed where he was, raising his hand to gently touch the delicate silver tie clip, the amusement in his eyes as vivid as ever.
