The man’s magnetic voice echoed close to her ear.

"Good morning, Mrs. Gu."
It was a phrase she hadn’t heard in a long time, and a sudden ache welled up in Ji Wei’s heart.
"From now on, I’ll wake up with you every morning and say good morning to you."
Mo Qian gently cupped her face with his hand, and before the woman could process what was happening, he kissed her soft lips.
Ji Wei was still completely bewildered.
Hadn’t he agreed to the divorce?
At this rate, were they even going to go through with the divorce?
"Not satisfied with the kiss?" Seeing her staring blankly at him, Mo Qian chuckled softly.
Ji Wei quickly shook her head.
Mo Qian was speaking while propping his body to the side, and the velvety blanket slid off him, exposing his bare chest and toned waist to the air—utterly captivating in the morning sunlight.
Ji Wei snapped back to reality, and the sight before her was undeniably stimulating. She couldn’t help but swallow hard.
Seriously, he was testing her self-control this early in the morning.
Ji Wei began to struggle in Mo Qian’s arms, worried she might touch his wound. He willingly let her go.
Seizing the opportunity, she propped herself up and sat upright.
"I’m going to the bathroom," Ji Wei blurted out hastily, flipping aside the blanket and scrambling out of bed.
Shutting the bathroom door behind her, Ji Wei walked straight to the sink. She turned on the faucet, scooped water into her hands, and splashed it onto her face to cool her burning cheeks.
"Hoo—"
She exhaled deeply. Once her emotions finally calmed down, she moved toward the toilet.
Strangely, a few scraps of paper were floating in the toilet bowl...
Ji Wei stood there, momentarily dazed, but didn’t give it much thought.
When she emerged from the bathroom, Mo Qian had already gotten out of bed.
He was meticulously buttoning up his white shirt. Hearing the footsteps behind him, he turned his head to glance back.
Seeing Ji Wei deliberately avoiding looking his way and seemingly trying to minimize contact with him, he immediately spoke up: "Could you help me grab a tie?"
Ji Wei hesitated mid-step, unable to bring herself to refuse.
She nodded faintly and turned to walk toward the wardrobe.
There was a drawer specifically for Mo Qian’s ties in the walk-in closet. Ji Wei found it and pulled it open, seeing tens of neatly arranged ties in various patterns and styles—a sight that left her momentarily speechless.
She had mild decision paralysis, and it truly left her at a loss.
For the first time, Ji Wei suddenly realized it had always been Mo Qian choosing his ties himself; this was actually the first time she was selecting one for him.
Which one should she pick?
Should she reference the style of his suit before deciding on the tie?
Ji Wei furrowed her brow in hesitant thought, oblivious to the tall figure quietly closing in behind her.
"Have you decided?"
The man’s rich, mellow voice sounded abruptly, startling Ji Wei into turning around sharply. In her flustered state, she almost collided with Mo Qian’s chest.
Ji Wei reflexively stepped back.
Seeing her about to bump into the wardrobe behind her, Mo Qian swiftly reached out, wrapped an arm around her waist, and pulled her into his arms.
"Are you alright?" he asked, his gaze lowering to meet the startled doe-like eyes of the woman leaning against his chest.
"I’m fine..."
Ji Wei quickly avoided his gaze and backed out of his embrace.
"I don’t know which one to pick; you should do it yourself." Ji Wei said quickly to mask her unease, her head bowed to avoid his scorching gaze.
"It’s alright. I trust your judgment." Mo Qian gently watched her bowed figure as he spoke warmly.
