The old butler hesitated and looked at her.

After leaving the car, the old butler instructed a servant to guide her to the room where Gu Zhizhou was. They arrived smoothly at his ward.
Gu Zhizhou was still quietly lying there, his eyes closed.
Ji Wei’s heart clenched as she looked at him, her eyes reddening.
"Ji Wei, why are you here?" Xi Nanfeng came upstairs with breakfast and was surprised to see Ji Wei standing at the doorway of the ward.
"I came to check on Dad," Ji Wei replied.
Xi Nanfeng noticed her pale complexion and couldn’t help but ask with concern, "Are you alright? Why didn’t Old Mo come with you?"
Ji Wei was startled as she looked at him.
She had assumed Xi Nanfeng would know where Gu Moqian had gone.
"Second Young Master Xi, someone tried to assassinate Mo Qian last night, but they didn’t succeed. Mo Qian left the manor overnight, and I don’t know his whereabouts. If you could, I’d like to ask for your help in finding him. It’s dangerous for him to be out alone."
Ji Wei ultimately decided to disclose last night’s events; she had no choice but to seek Xi Nanfeng’s help.
