Classless Awakening; My Dragon Is Legendary-Chapter 18: Fighting Off Assasins
A strange calmness had overtaken Derrick, his vision had gone black and thread-like lines appeared all around them.
The first assassin stepped forward, a ball of water converged around her palm.
Derrick’s blade swung in a perfect arc, aiming to sever the hand of the assassin, but he was hit with a strange force.
Derrick’s body flew backwards, he spun in midair and stabbed his sword into the ground to regain his balance.
To his right, there was another assassin with his hand outstretched.
Derrick’s mind got to work. By his analysis, he could tell that he had been hit with a telekinetic spell.
Both assassins made their way towards Derrick, and Derrick backed away.
His initial adrenaline and motivation wore off, and his vision returned to normal.
The female assassin chanted and water blades appeared.
With a wave of her hands, the water blades hurtled towards him.
Derrick sliced the first two, but before on his third attack, another kinetic wall struck him.
Several water spikes tore through Derrick’s skin, leaving deep cuts that oozed blood.

[Healing and regeneration has been activated.]
Right before the eyes of the assassins, Derrick’s body healed at a rate comparable to that of an advanced healer.
Both assassins stared at each other, wary of Derrick.
"Look at that Malum, the prince does have magic." The female assassin snickered.
Derrick held on to his blade even tighter, fear eluded him, and his will burned even brighter.
Malum raised his hand while chanting and Derrick’s body lifted off the ground.
Malum flicked his wrist and Derrick was thrown violently.
Derrick’s field of vision was changing so fast, and his body was being trashed around.
His mind was spinning, trying to find a way out of this situation.
He crashed into the training equipment nearby, causing dust to rise.
"Good work Malum." Vora praised. Malum’s magic had proven itself in this job.
Both assassins waited for the dust to settle so they could resume their beat down.
[Dragon Flash. ]
From the dust, Derrick shot forward, he covered the distance between him and Malum in the twinkle of an eye.
Derrick’s speed had caught Malum off guard, giving Derrick the perfect opportunity to strike.
Derrick didn’t hesitate, he went straight after Malum, going for the most troublesome person he could find.
His blade burned with dragon energy, allowing him to easily slice through Malum’s hands.
Malum released an ear-shattering scream, unable to believe his hands were gone.
Vora chanted, swinging her hands rapidly, panic and fear rapidly filling her mind.
Three jets of scalding hot water shot towards Derrick, but Derrick couldn’t care less.
The water hit his skin, but Derrick didn’t even flinch, his mind was locked in on the danger in front of him.
Malum opened his mouth, but Derrick’s blade silenced him.
Malum’s head rolled to the floor, and for a second everyone’s fights came to a halt.
The doll and the other assassins had turned to look at Derrick, whose sword was stained with blood.
Derrick took a deep breath, bringing his mind to a state of total calm.
He locked eyes with Vora, who was rapidly preparing another spell.
His vision turned black and white, threads appeared, and once again, the fights had resumed.
[Dragon Flash.]
Vora cast a spell, summoning a water shield which blocked Derrick’s sword. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Derrick didn’t relent, he continued to strike the shield at strategic points, causing cracks to appear all over.
’How is he doing that?’ Vora asked herself. She knew how much force would be required to break her shield.
To the best of her knowledge, Derrick’s sword was no enchanted weapon, and he had no magic.
’Is this just his raw physical prowess?’ Vora asked herself, unable to believe it.
Derrick continued his assault on her shield, and she could tell it was just a matter of time until he managed to break it.
Vora chanted, drawing upon extensive knowledge of water magic.
Six arms made of water appeared beside her, each one of them wielding a different weapon.
Derrick broke the shield, and a water whip whizzed past his face.
Derrick had barely managed to dodge the whip thanks to dragon eyes.
The water whip hit the ground, causing a deep crater to form and stones to be sent flying in all directions.
Derrick moved in but was stopped by an incoming jet of water.
He leaped backwards, but was met with a water shield which slammed into him, sending him flying.
Derrick’s body hit the ground, breaking several bones.
Fear and panic slowly began to seep into Derrick’s mind, and his vision gradually returned to normal.
He took a deep breath, dispelling his fear, and his vision darkened once more.
Derrick moved in, the six water hands charged towards him at once.
A water hand wielding a sword tried to slice off Derrick’s head, but Derrick blocked it with an attack of his own.
He leaped into the air, the water shield rapidly approached him, hoping to see a repeat of their last clash.
Derrick angled his legs, they slammed into the water shield, and he used the split second of momentum to push himself off the shield.
Derrick blocked several water attacks midair, but was hit with a water whip, which crashed into his chest.
Derrick’s chest had been crushed by the raw pressure of the water whip, disorienting him.
A water hand grabbed onto Derrick and slammed him into the ground, burying him inside.

Derrick’s healing had already kicked in, but the pain from the earlier attacks was blinding.
Derrick tried to maintain his calmness, but all to no avail.
Rage consumed Derrick as he unleashed a thunderous battle cry, his vision clouding with a crimson haze that obliterated all rational thought.
A shiver ran up Vora’s spine as she locked eyes with Derrick.
This wasn’t a human gaze meeting hers, it was something primal, something ancient.
Fear gripped her, her mind was unable to think or process what was happening, the only thing she could feel was how dangerous Derrick was.
