Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 333: I Hope You’ll Join
The Sterling Group has always been supported by Ethan Sterling alone. Although Howard is his assistant, he has no relatives and thus is at most a trusted aide. Even though he can command The Sterling Family’s bodyguard squad, he has no authority to interfere with The Sterling Group’s operations.
To prevent any mishaps, Aidan Sinclair has been helping to contain the news of the plane crash he was involved in. Nevertheless, many projects awaiting Ethan Sterling’s signature have been temporarily stalled, and various voices have started to emerge within the company.
Vivian has returned in advance to take charge of the situation.
Though she is clueless about the company’s operations, she has an assistant who is adept at handling these matters — her third uncle.
Moreover, Vivian is particularly smart. Even if she doesn’t understand, she can verbatim reproduce whatever the third uncle teaches her, effectively suppressing those troublesome shareholders.
Despite The Sterling Family’s sparse acknowledgment, which isn’t necessarily a good thing, it has turned out to be a significant advantage in preventing any collateral family from taking over.
However, with the support of the third uncle and Aidan Sinclair, ordinary people dare not covet The Sterling Group.
Ruby Sullivan video calls Vivian every day to listen to her vent, and she shares the jokes Vivian makes during meetings with Ethan Sterling. She doesn’t know how much he hears, but she often ends up laughing out loud as she recounts the stories.
One night, Ruby Sullivan dreamt that Ethan Sterling woke up, rubbing her head as he used to and calling her name. She cried tears of joy, only to wake up from the excitement.
The tears on her face were real, but Ethan Sterling continued to sleep quietly in the hospital bed.
Ruby Sullivan looked at his face, which appeared to be simply asleep, and wondered why he couldn’t open his eyes to look at her.
Suddenly feeling a bit wronged, she couldn’t help but cry and complain, "You heartless man, always claiming you’d take care of me for the rest of your life. Now you’re asleep, leaving us orphans and widows. Doesn’t your conscience hurt?"
Ethan Sterling helplessly opened his eyes, turned to look at her, "I’m not dead yet; how are we orphans and widows?"
Ruby Sullivan, still crying, was taken aback to see him talking to her. She quickly wiped away her tears with the back of her hand and pinched herself hard, feeling the pain, "Are you really awake?"
Ethan Sterling smiled, "I woke up earlier, but you didn’t wake up despite my calling, so I fell asleep again. I won’t leave you two; don’t jinx me."
Ruby Sullivan finally reacted and hurried to inform the doctor.
Three days later, they boarded the plane back home.
Ruby Sullivan, worried that Ethan Sterling might have shadows from the incident, held his hand tightly the whole time, comforting him that there was nothing to fear.
This made Ethan Sterling both amused and helpless, but seeing her serious face, he found her adorable and wanted to look at her a little longer.
Suddenly, he lowered his eyebrows, wrapped his arm around hers, and pretended to be afraid, "How long will it take for us to get there? Would it be embarrassing if I cried?"
Ruby Sullivan was stunned, then rolled her eyes and said disdainfully, "Mr. Sterling, your acting is a bit much."
"Ah, is it?" Ethan Sterling blinked and played dumb.
Ruby Sullivan, seeing he wasn’t really scared, finally rested her head against his chest, "Mr. Sterling, you are amazing. If it were me, I would be scared to death."
He lifted her hand and kissed it, "I’m sorry for scaring you, my lady."
Ruby Sullivan chuckled and closed her eyes in his arms.
Ah, they weren’t showing affection in public. To ensure a comfortable return, they had chartered the entire plane, so besides a few flight attendants, their accompanying staff were in economy class, leaving just the two of them in the business class.
Ethan Sterling rested at home for two more days before quickly adjusting and returning to The Sterling Group to work.
After this incident, his biggest concern was that after Howard left, there was no assistant in the company whom he could trust completely. Keeping in mind that Seth and Honey were still young, this assistant had to be a family member to give him more peace of mind.
For the first time, he hoped that Leon Sterling and Cindy Sterling would consider working at the company.
Actually, he didn’t hold much hope for his brother, mainly because Leon’s talent in painting was too advanced. If he were to work and disrupt his creativity, it would be a huge loss to a great artist and humanity as a whole.
But in Cindy’s current situation, it was entirely feasible to consider. She had never signed with a management company, partly due to the same concerns.
Moreover, she could try it in the company first; if she didn’t like it, she could leave anytime.
Ethan Sterling knew that it would take a long time to train his sister, but it should be faster than waiting for Seth to grow up.
After expressing his thoughts, Ethan looked nervously at his brother and sister, unsure if they would support him.
Actually, from their perspective, The Sterling Group was more like shackles, and the allure of money held no sway over them.
To Ethan Sterling’s surprise, after hesitating for a moment, both nodded their heads.
Leon Sterling’s reason was a bit whimsical, but not unreasonable.
He had never held a job and wanted a different experience, which might inspire him with different creative sparks.
Seeing how this situation made him feel a bit useless, he hoped that, despite not wanting his brother to be in trouble, he could stand up to help when needed instead of always leaving it to Vivian to brazenly handle.
"But let me be clear; if there’s a conflict between working at The Sterling Group and painting, I will quit The Sterling Group immediately."
"Understood." Ethan Sterling nodded.
Cindy Sterling’s reason was simpler, she felt that her big brother’s analysis made sense. Like her second brother, she was curious about her big brother’s work and thought trying it wasn’t harmful, perhaps discovering a new life direction or a greater advantage.
"Thank you," Ethan Sterling was truly grateful.
Leon Sterling and Cindy Sterling exchanged looks and couldn’t help but laugh.
Cindy teased, "Just make sure you don’t worry about us splitting your Sterling Group later."
"I’m not worried; you don’t have any shares," Ethan Sterling replied with a smug smile.
Cindy rolled her eyes and snorted in disdain.
Leon Sterling timely reminded, "Whether we have shares or not is irrelevant, don’t you think someone might need legal recognition?"
Of course, Ethan Sterling knew whom he was referring to, "Yes, indeed."

After Ruby Sullivan returned from Caelus, she was so busy that it felt like she was flying. She wanted to personally cook a grand meal to celebrate, but she couldn’t find the time, even on weekends, as she spent her time in the lab.
The popularity of Nirvana exceeded her expectations. When the pre-sale ended and the physical products were released, she greedily raised the price by another thousand dollars, only to find the sales were still exceptionally fiery.
One couldn’t blame her for being a profiteer; mainly, due to the betting contract with Ethan Sterling, the costs of this perfume were quite high. If she didn’t do this, it would become known as a prestigious yet unprofitable perfume.
Now that she was a business owner, she couldn’t afford to be so selfless.
This morning, she was catching up on sleep on the way to work, only to open her eyes and realize the car hadn’t stopped below the company building.
