Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 311: Gaining a Fangirl
Aidan Sinclair was taken aback upon seeing Ethan Sterling’s hairstyle, "Just a few days apart, and you’ve gone all flashy like this?"
"Can’t you talk with a little culture?" Ethan Sterling glanced at his wife with disdain.
"Uh, sorry, sorry." Aidan Sinclair was defeated by this wife-protecting maniac.
Ruby Sullivan chuckled and said, "I’ll go wander over there, you two chat away."
Ethan Sterling watched Ruby Sullivan walk off into the distance, then glanced at Aidan Sinclair with a smug look, "Doesn’t my hairstyle make me look young?"
Aidan Sinclair was used to his sudden showiness, "Did your wife do it for you?"
"Of course." He glanced at Ruby Sullivan again, his eyes filled with a smile.
Aidan Sinclair felt a twinge of jealousy, shoved a glass of champagne at him, "Alright, back to business, I heard you squeezed 70 million out of the Yates Family, pretty ruthless."
"Ruthless?" Ethan Sterling scoffed, "After I dropped the charges, they took it all out on Julian Lowe, sentenced him to six months, and he committed suicide on the second day inside, said he couldn’t take it, even left a note."
People like that should never be given any chance.
Aidan Sinclair took a sip of champagne, "Isn’t that just what you wanted? Striking the Yates Family while also dealing out justice."
Ethan Sterling raised an eyebrow, "I’ve restrained the Yates Family, making it easier for you to make a move on Southedge Market and acquire Red Star."
Red Star is an old family business, although it’s been declining in recent years, swallowing it whole is not easy, Aidan Sinclair had his eye on it for a while, but couldn’t find an opportunity to strike.
Aidan Sinclair clinked glasses with him, "Why do we have to be so in sync, it’s making me want to steal your wife just to take you away."
Ethan Sterling shot him a glance, "You’re not quite up to par."
Aidan Sinclair sighed, "Does your wife have any good friends she could introduce to me? Seeing your happy married life, I’m tempted to find a girlfriend."
Ethan Sterling laughed, "Sure, Rhonda Sullivan, her older sister, you know that."
Aidan Sinclair froze, "Forget I said anything, but I heard The Sullivan Group is planning something big, they’ve earned quite a bit from a few overseas investments this year, they might really be partnering with The Lawson Group."
Rhonda Sullivan working with The Lawson Group, aside from making money, probably has a bigger agenda of suppressing Ruby Sullivan.
Seeing Ethan Sterling remain silent, Aidan Sinclair teased, "I heard Rhonda Sullivan has been wanting an invitation to a gala, how about... I send him one next month?"
Ethan Sterling’s eyes shifted, he casually asked at the door, "Was it you who got the Yates Family involved too?"
Aidan Sinclair smiled, "Don’t look down on people like that, alright? I’ve heard my gala invites are priceless, speaking of which, my PR team is really too disinterested in fame and wealth, they shouldn’t let others make such money."
Of course, he was just joking, anyone who reached management level at The Sinclair Group is absolutely loyal, as no one can afford the consequences of any misconduct.
Gideon Yates and Gwen Yates, due to the press conference, have become top celebrities in the elite circles of Ariston, bringing their wives to events, the wives would frown and stay alert upon seeing them, and none of the younger socialites would bother associating with such notorious individuals.
Gideon Yates got this invitation at the start of the month, Gwen Yates was initially unwilling to attend, feeling embarrassed, but Gideon thought of the invitation’s value and insisted she come.
The reason was simple, wanting to climb the social ladder inevitably requires mingling in these circles, and since she has to face it sooner or later, it might be better to start mingling early, maybe meeting a friend she can get along with.
Once the Yates Family entered, people immediately started whispering and observing her laugh, and then couldn’t help but glance at Ruby Sullivan sitting on the sofa eating fruit.
"I heard Mrs. Sterling’s quite feisty, wonder if she’ll give Gwen Yates a hard time here."
"Not necessarily, I saw her at a birthday party before when Ethan Sterling was standing with another woman, and she didn’t do anything."
Gwen Yates pretended not to hear these remarks, grabbed a glass of champagne, and headed towards Ethan Sterling and Aidan Sinclair.
Coincidentally, Ruby Sullivan had finished the mango on her plate and was about to get a dish of strawberries when she saw Gwen Yates passing by.
She averted her gaze, pretending not to notice anything, and continued looking for food to eat. Despite her earlier determination to meet people on her walk, she found that socializing was quite daunting and that good food was more appealing.
A girl in a white gauzy dress was also picking fruit, and upon catching a whiff of a fresh aroma, turned to look at the fragrant Ruby Sullivan, "Oh, you are..." the girl’s sweet smile turned to surprise, as if she couldn’t quite believe it, the name on the tip of her tongue.
The girl had crescent-shaped eyes, always carrying a sweet smile that made people happy, very much to Ruby Sullivan’s liking, so she smiled and introduced herself, "Hello, I’m Ruby Sullivan."
"Hello." The girl came to her senses, smiled shyly, and hesitantly asked, "You’re the Perfumer Wenny, right?"
Ruby Sullivan nodded.
This reminded her, that people seemed more familiar with her English name than Ruby Sullivan.
"Oh my gosh, I am so happy, can we take a picture together? I really like you." The girl, excited and barely coherent, took out her phone and eagerly looked at Ruby Sullivan, hoping she’d agree.
It was the first time Ruby Sullivan had encountered such an excited fan, she was a bit flustered but graciously posed for a photo.
The girl loved the photo, and after taking it, began editing with software, "You’re so pretty, you look beautiful even without editing, but I’ll give it a little touch-up, don’t worry, being beautiful together is true beauty."
The girl, engrossed in editing and muttering adorably, said, "Don’t rush, it will be ready soon."
Watching her, Ruby Sullivan unexpectedly thought of what Honey might look like when she grows up and couldn’t help but smile, "I’m not rushing, take your time."
"Alright." The girl responded absentmindedly, after a few minutes, she held up her phone, "How is it, does it look good?"
Ruby Sullivan looked at their sharp-featured photo, amused and helpless, "Aren’t the eyes a bit too big?"
"Well, if they’re not big enough, they won’t showcase your beauty." The girl replied earnestly, though it sounded like nonsense to Ruby Sullivan.
"Let’s add each other on WeChat, I’ll send the photo to you." The girl eagerly looked at Ruby Sullivan again.
"Um... I still don’t know who you are." Ruby Sullivan was a bit distressed, actually wanting the unedited photo.
"I..." The girl hesitated to give her name, realizing that in this setting, people seemed to value what’s behind a name, so she pointed to a middle-aged man with a short stature and a receding hairline not far away, "That’s my dad, our family sells snacks, I’m Stella Jennings."
