Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 310: Money Makes Things Easier
Ruby Sullivan came with full enthusiasm. After having a meeting with Claire and Tina in the afternoon, they immediately decided on the style for Little Mermaid perfume: oceanic, innovating on the aquatic notes. Then everyone discussed the company’s expansion directions.
The birth of a high-end perfume, from conception to blending to launching, is not a simple matter. Often, a perfumer wants to find the scent they desire but might need to spend a year or even two or three to blend it.
The reason why Nirvana perfume could take shape so quickly, aside from Tina’s accidental successful experiment, is due to Ruby Sullivan’s nearly year-long brainstorming and simple experiments at home. This perfume already had a blueprint when the company was founded.
Now that there’s funding, Ruby Sullivan believes the company can launch fragrance products that have shorter production cycles and are cost-effective. Being a perfumer, immersing oneself in the same task every day is painful, doing something else can be a mental break, a different kind of relaxation.
Candles, essential oils, and handmade soaps are good options.
Claire strongly supports Ruby Sullivan’s idea and personally prefers candles herself.
"Before becoming a perfumer, I didn’t think so; the more understanding of scents, the more picky I am about scents around me. Now, when I shop, I don’t buy candles anymore, always feel I can’t find a scent I like."
"I’ve discovered this issue too during my time living back home." Ruby Sullivan agreed.
Tina chimed in: "I heard many candle lovers, for the sake of buying high-quality candles, would make a special trip to Britton. If we make truly high-quality candles, there will definitely be a market."
After some discussion, it was clarified that while making perfumes, they would also produce other products; Claire would be responsible for aroma candles, and Tina for handmade soaps.
Before the meeting, Ruby Sullivan worried that Claire and Tina might be resentful of parallel product development being too much work. Seeing them so enthusiastic relieved her, reassuring her she hadn’t misjudged them.
Once the general direction was set, the next step was recruitment. Tina, Claire, and Ruby Sullivan all needed assistants for record-keeping and aiding, and they also needed a versatile HR for daily chores. Howard thought he didn’t need an assistant for now, just an HR would suffice. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
By the end of the meeting, it was about time to get off work. Being a Friday, Ruby Sullivan announced that everyone should leave work early and properly rest over the weekend to start a new journey next week.
A fragrance studio turned into a sort of competition team, holding meetings with cheers and slogans. Although it seemed a bit juvenile, the excitement and thrill on everyone’s faces were undeniably genuine.
Ruby Sullivan stepped out of the meeting room and saw the message Ethan Sterling had sent her, saying that Aidan Sinclair had a cocktail party tonight and asked if she wanted to attend.
Both she and Ethan Sterling disliked such social cocktail parties. In the past, Ethan wouldn’t have asked her; with that time, going home to accompany the kids was more appealing.
But now, since Ruby Sullivan’s company is still in the startup phase, showing up at such occasions could potentially bring business opportunities.
Understanding Ethan’s intention, Ruby Sullivan replied that she had finished her work and could go home now to change clothes.
Not long after, Ethan sent back a reply, "I’ll pick you up."
She smiled, looking up to see Howard staring at her, quickly pocketing her phone, "Is there something you need?"
"Do you have any thoughts on Nirvana’s promotion? If not, I’ll go to an advertising company directly."
The budget had been planned already, and due to limited funds, they didn’t plan to hire endorsers but needed great creativity.
However, now that the boss has more money, naturally, there’s more room for imagination.
"Hmm... as discussed earlier, choose a reliable company first. The creativity should be novel, and don’t find models yet."
"Do you have someone in mind?"
"Well, just not sure if they’ll agree. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible."
"Okay." Howard didn’t ask further; having seen her judgment at The Sterling Group, he’s not worried about her choices.
Claire and Tina had already left, and as they went downstairs together, Howard, knowing that she doesn’t drive lately, directly asked if she needed a ride to The Sterling Group.
"No need, Ethan should be downstairs."
Howard clutched his chest, "Caught off guard, a mouthful of dog food. I truly underestimated Mr. Sterling’s capability!"
Ruby Sullivan chuckled, "Alright, you make it seem like you don’t have a girlfriend."
Howard laughed too, "Honestly, I’ve been by Mr. Sterling’s side for so many years, always suspected he was a machine, without feelings. Until you came along, he showed a bit of warmth."
He recalled Ethan’s nervous demeanor, still finding it a bit unbelievable.
No wonder in fantasy dramas, love tribulations are used as trump cards, the impact sure is significant, enough to change a person entirely.
Ruby Sullivan just smiled, not responding. As they reached the first floor, she stepped out quickly.
At the building entrance, Ethan was waiting outside his car, his tailored suit accentuating his tall figure. Even his back was enough to draw attention, standing there casually as a sight in itself.
Thinking of recent events, Ruby accelerated her pace.
Ethan, seeing her sudden urgency, thought something happened, instinctively opened his arms to catch her flying embrace.
He heard her low, silly laughs by his ear and felt reassured, saying nothing, just quietly holding her.
When Ruby was satisfied, she emerged from his embrace, "Let’s go home."
"Okay." Ethan turned to open the door for her.

Aidan Sinclair didn’t originally like hosting cocktail parties; this habit developed after Naomi Sinclair passed away. He held them once a month at his lakeside villa at Finchill. Invitations were all on a name basis, aside from Aidan’s specific invitees, the PR department handpicked suitable people, a total of thirty, but each could bring a friend.
It’s said that someone once posted online saying if the invitation cards had a set price, annual revenue would suffice to cover the gross profit of a medium-sized company.
Ethan received one every month but never attended. Now, with Ruby considered a small business owner, Aidan specifically sent her an invitation card this month, showing full sincerity.
Ruby chose a champagne-colored gown, her long hair draped naturally with simple waves at the ends, appearing elegant yet assertive.
Ethan wore a casual-style black suit without a tie. His tousled hairstyle added a rogue charm, making him look a few years younger.
