Gwen Yates walked up to Ethan Sterling, "Mr. Sterling, can you take me to a nearby hotel? The dorm is already closed this late, and I... don’t want to explain to the dorm manager."

"Sure." Ethan Sterling said as he took Ruby Sullivan’s hand, "Let’s go."

As the three of them were leaving, Ruby Sullivan pulled her hand back, "You take her, I’ll head home."

She knew it was safer to stay with him at times like these, but she didn’t want to.

If a man needs her constant watch to be reliable, there will always be moments when she can’t keep an eye on him.

"It’s late, I’m worried about you driving."

The car’s already here, what’s there to be worried about? Ruby Sullivan pursed her lips, "She’s probably terrified, you can comfort her. I’m going home to sleep."

Ethan Sterling, with no other choice, kissed her forehead, "Drive safely."

Ruby Sullivan smiled, turned, and got into her car.

After Ethan Sterling got in the car, he asked, "Which hotel would you like to go to?"

"Let’s go to the Equinox." Gwen answered and then turned to look out the window, her gaze still in a daze.

The road was clear at night, and a dozen minutes later, Ethan Sterling had taken Gwen to the Equinox Grand Hotel.

The receptionist smiled and reminded them that both needed to check in, motioning for Ethan Sterling to present his ID.

"I’m not staying." Ethan Sterling refused.

Hearing this, Gwen turned around, gave him a timid look, and quickly lowered her head, "Mr. Sterling... could you take me up? I’m... scared." As she spoke, tears began to fall.

Ethan Sterling, seeing her trembling state, ultimately couldn’t bear to refuse, "Alright."

The receptionist quickly completed the procedures and handed Gwen the room card. Ethan Sterling followed her to the room, but stayed at the door without entering, "Rest well, call me if you need anything." He was about to leave when he finished.

At this moment, Gwen suddenly grabbed him, took a step forward, and threw herself into his arms, "Just for a moment... I’m feeling really bad." As she spoke, her tears flowed even more fiercely.

Typically, when a young girl encounters such an ordeal, a gentleman would soften a little, but for Ethan Sterling, there were more pressing matters.

He unceremoniously pulled Gwen’s arm off, pushing her away, and frowned, "Sorry, Miss Yates, I have a hygiene obsession, your actions just now made me uncomfortable." With that, he walked away without looking back.

There was a noticeable stain on his shoulder from Ruby Sullivan’s drool, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t mind Gwen’s tears.

Ruby Sullivan was surprised to see him home, thinking that Gwen would try to keep this man no matter what tonight; if even in such circumstances she couldn’t, then there might never be a better opportunity.

"Why are you back?" She refused to even look at him.

Ethan Sterling was puzzled by her question, "Isn’t this my home?"

Ruby Sullivan chuckled stupidly, "Didn’t Gwen ask you to stay with her?"

"She only asked me to take her to her room." Ethan Sterling took off his T-shirt, revealing his well-defined muscles, "Well, when I was about to leave, she wanted to cry in my arms for a bit, but I refused." He said while approaching Ruby Sullivan, stealing a kiss from her lips, "I am someone with a hygiene obsession." He ended by pinching Ruby Sullivan’s cheek, smiling as he turned to shower.

His wife is the best, just the smell on her body put him at ease, and it wasn’t the fragrance of perfume.

Ruby Sullivan initially wore a stern face, imagining many scenarios between Gwen and Ethan Sterling, but upon hearing this, she couldn’t help but sympathize with Gwen, poor girl received two heavy blows in one night, it’s a bit pitiful.

When Ethan Sterling came back smelling like fresh, fragrant shower gel and lay down next to Ruby Sullivan, she couldn’t resist asking, "Were you worried about your self-control tonight, is that why you wanted me to drive back?"

Drive back? Ethan Sterling pondered for a moment, then laughed, but soon furrowed his brows, "Ms. Sullivan, I was genuinely concerned about you driving at night, that’s why I suggested leaving your car to bring back later, since we’re not working tomorrow anyway."

Hearing this answer, Ruby Sullivan’s delight level went up a notch, she turned to give him a kiss, "Thank you, I enjoyed our date today."

Ethan Sterling returned the kiss, "I enjoyed it too."

Early on the weekend morning, Honey burst into her older brother’s room, shaking the still sleepy Seth Sterling, "Brother, I have a question for you." This question kept her up late last night, and she woke up early.

Seth Sterling slept later than usual last night, he was still very sleepy, but seeing his sister with a sense of urgency, he reluctantly sat up, "Go on."

"Why do you dislike Mr. Yates?"

"Of course not, Dad just wants you to be happy every day, nothing else matters."

"Dad’s the best." Honey gave her dad a big kiss, finally feeling satisfied.

Ethan Sterling hadn’t expected to resolve this big issue so easily, he felt very comfortable, but thought that plans for a couple’s retreat with his wife might go down the drain, feeling a bit of regret.

Ethan Sterling and Ruby Sullivan had nothing to do today, dedicating all their time to their child. At noon, they let Mama Bennett and Owen Fulton rest while the family cooked a sumptuous lunch together, enjoying a harmonious time.

They discussed and decided that it wouldn’t be wise to affect Gwen’s final exams because of this, she had just been through an ordeal, no need to add insult to injury, best to wait until after her exams to talk again.

On Monday, Ruby Sullivan was busy formulating a new perfume in her studio when suddenly two police officers arrived, asking her to cooperate with an investigation.

"We suspect you’re involved in a case of hiring someone to commit harm, please accompany us."

Ruby Sullivan was dumbfounded, truly caught off guard, with no idea what was coming her way.
