Chapter 263: Chapter 263: An Answer in Deeds

Ruby Sullivan asked Honey to wait in the study room, and thought about yesterday’s matter. She wanted to explain a bit more to Gwen Yates.

"My daughter is quite sensitive and has her own thoughts, teaching her might require some patience." She wasn’t sure if her description was accurate, but looking at Gwen Yates standing there, she felt something was off.

"Wenny, don’t worry, I really like little girls, and all the kids at home like me too. I’m very confident about teaching Honey."

Ruby smiled, not knowing what more to say, so she let her head to the study room.

Honey sat upright in the study room, with the book "Simplified Physics" still in front of her.

She couldn’t recognize all the characters in the book, let alone understand their meanings, but she wanted to do experiments with her brother and become an excellent child!

After a while, Gwen Yates knocked on the door and entered, casually putting down her backpack. As she took out a notebook and pen, she chatted with Honey, "Honey, you’re so cute, just looking at you makes me happy."

Although Honey was a bit averse to the older girl, she wasn’t resistant to praise at all. After hearing it, she immediately responded, with the little frown on her face smoothing out, "Thank you, you’re pretty too, teacher." She pursed her lips and smiled, a bit shyly.

Originally, Honey was a very outgoing child, but ever since she found out the teacher who smiled at her called her a dummy behind her back, she became instinctively cautious around Gwen Yates, almost as if she had changed personalities.

"You’re such a good girl." After Gwen Yates finished getting ready, she sat down next to her, "Do you want to learn physics?"

Honey nodded.

"Alright, then let’s start by learning why the sky is blue." Gwen smiled slightly, got up and sat before the whiteboard, using colorful markers to draw a rainbow on it. "In fact, the sky should be the same color as a rainbow." She blinked, looking very mysterious.

Honey was indeed intrigued, took her little notebook, and ran over to sit on the small stool.

Ruby Sullivan bit her thumbnail as she walked around the living room, extremely worried. More than Gwen’s presence, she was worried Honey would suddenly run out of the study room crying.

Seth Sterling, who came out to use the restroom, saw his mother’s state and couldn’t help but frown, thinking something serious had happened at home, "Mom, what’s wrong?"

"Ah, Seth." She was so concerned she hadn’t noticed her son had come out of his room, and his words startled her.

"What’s up with you?" Seth asked, seeing her lost expression.

Ruby Sullivan gave a wry smile, realizing her behavior was very unusual, quickly put her hands down, "Honey has been in class for half an hour."

"If you’re worried, you can go and take a look."

"But I already told Honey, if she feels unhappy, she should come out immediately." What if Honey is trying to adapt, and after seeing her, becomes naughty again? Isn’t mom her rock?

Seth sighed deeply, feeling that his parents were too tense regarding his sister, but such tension was useless; it only added worries.

"Mom, I think you should go back to your room, read a book, or listen to some music and relax a bit. I believe Honey would prefer if we trusted her."

"I think so too." Ruby said as she promptly marched into the bedroom, but it was clear she was still very nervous.

Seth watched his mother’s stiff back with concern, and taking small steps he went to eavesdrop outside the study room, only to hear laughter coming from inside. Feeling at ease, he returned to his room.

At lunch, Honey even actively picked dishes for Gwen Yates, indicating she quite liked the new teacher.

Ruby’s heart, which had been on edge all morning, finally settled down. After sending Gwen off, Honey immediately told her mom about the lesson, saying she learned about wavelengths, learned about the spectrum, and would do experiments with the teacher the next day.

Although it sounded like just a basic understanding, seeing Honey’s satisfied look, Ruby felt happy as well.

In the evening, when Ethan Sterling came back, Ruby quickly told him about Gwen Yates and Honey. Ethan was momentarily stunned, "Why is it Gwen Yates?"

Ruby had thought Ethan knew, so she was a bit confused too, "She said Ryan Vaughn is her cousin and because he couldn’t make it, she came."

Ethan frowned slightly, "Hmm."

Ruby blinked, sensing something amiss from his expression, she squinted her eyes and probed, "You seemed to say yesterday that you knew Gwen Yates, what’s going on?"

Ethan thought she had forgotten about it, and originally didn’t want to bring it up, but now that Gwen Yates had become Honey’s teacher, he could no longer avoid the issue.

"The Yates Clan is quite famous around Southlands. They come from a scholarly family, started doing business from her father’s generation, engaging in the silk trade, and are one of the top silk merchants in the country." Also, very wealthy.

Actually, when considering future paths for The Sterling Group, Gwen Yates and Naomi Sinclair were the two options he had in mind. If things didn’t work out with Naomi Sinclair, he would have to rely on Gwen’s connection to climb the Yates Family, because during a secret investigation of Gwen, it turned out she admired him greatly.

Luckily, Ruby’s braised pork had worked wonders back then, or it would have been quite awkward now.

Ruby stared at him, patiently waiting for more significant news, but he just sat back and watched the news as if he wasn’t planning to say anything else.

Unwilling to let it go, Ruby directly snatched the iPad from his hands, "Is that all?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Seeing her being so headstrong, Ethan felt a warm affection, his eyes curved into a smile as he reached out, pinching her cheeks lightly, "You know the rest, I’m an honorary alumnus of Ariston University, so she admires me, that’s all there is to it."

Ruby swatted his hand away, clearly not buying it, "Why do you remember her among so many of your admirers, could it be because she’s pretty?"

This time, Ethan simply pulled her into his embrace rudely, "Ms. Sullivan, I’ve already said it, and will emphasize it again now. She’s not prettier than you, you’re prettier, you’re the prettiest!" Having said that, he planted a kiss on her cheek.

Ruby rolled her eyes, "Mr. Sterling, you’re just trying to cover it up."

At this moment, Seth and Honey came out of their room to get ready for dinner, and seeing their parents entwined on the sofa, they were a little stunned.

Honey was about to say no fighting when Seth covered her eyes, "You’re still young; don’t look at unbecoming things." He then dragged his sister back into the room to play with Lego, waiting for Mama Bennett to call them out.

Ruby’s face turned redder, as if she was caught by the police uncle doing something illegal.

Ethan gave a wicked smile, "I’m about to show you the answer." He then leaned in for a deep kiss on her lips. If Ms. Sullivan was jealous, this response should be the perfect remedy, right?
