Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 236: Masquerade Ball
Ruby Sullivan examined Sasha Shaw’s cool outfit, took two steps forward, and tugged at the plastic bullet bag hanging from her, full of questions, "Sasha, are you sure you want to capture the hearts of those single men?"
"Of course." Sasha spun in front of the mirror, extremely satisfied. This punk-lolita cosplay outfit was made by herself, all the decorative parts custom-designed on Taobao. This outfit, which seemed to have very few pieces of fabric, cost her quite a bit of money.
She pinched her firm, slender waist, eyebrows jumping with pride, "Sis, this waist was trained specifically for the upcoming runway show, there’s no doubt about it."
Ruby knew she had made up her mind, and it was best to say some insincere praise and nothing else, but she was still a bit worried, "Aren’t you cold wearing this?"
Though Ariston had reached the months without heating, it didn’t mean the temperature was friendly now. She touched Sasha’s chilly long legs, "I’m afraid you’ll catch a cold." In this season, bare legs with long boots, and the rest akin to lingerie, didn’t look warm at all.
Sasha rolled her eyes at her disdainfully, "Just wear a coat, right? Let’s go, today’s goal is to make those old classmates nosebleed!"
Ruby didn’t know why she was so passionate. She remembered Faye Truman’s classmates were not particularly attractive, to put it mildly. Otherwise, why would they have only developed a friendship with just Faye Truman among them?
As Sasha was doing her makeup, Ruby changed into the clothes she brought, a set of black tights paired with metal cat-eye glasses, letting her hair down and putting on fiery red lipstick, a perfect catwoman image.
If it wasn’t for this outfit being a bit conspicuous for the airport, she would have worn it at home.
Sasha saw her in the mirror and couldn’t help turning her head, "My god, you look stunning!"
Ruby patted her small belly, looked sideways to ensure there was no bulge, and only then felt relieved.
Last year in Meridia, Ethan Sterling had promised to make catwoman and Batman costumes for the kids, and for some whimsical reason, made adult versions based on their measurements, too. While moving, Ruby took them back to The Sullivan Family, thinking maybe there might be a special event at Honey’s kindergarten where she could wear it, and this was a perfect occasion.
She smiled, patting her thigh-high boots, "I’m not even warm wearing this, you better not expect me to take care of you if you catch a cold tonight."
Sasha laughed, eyebrows dancing, "Just snag a man to take home tonight, then you won’t have to worry about anything."
"I hope so." Ruby said as she donned a black wool coat and walked out.
Sasha wore a khaki trench coat, which wasn’t very warm, but she tucked her hands in her pockets and crossed her arms, feeling it was bearable.
Ruby was truly afraid she’d freeze, so she turned on the heater after getting in the car.
When they arrived at the Sterling Family’s villa, quite a few guests had already arrived. They didn’t expect so many people to attend, and everyone was really into the "costume party" theme. As they entered, they felt like it was a house full of monsters; no one could be recognized at first glance, but at least the villa was well-heated, not cold at all.
In this outfit, Ruby was quickly getting sweaty just standing for a little while.
They handed their coats to a servant, and suddenly, everyone’s eyes were on Sasha.
Although she wore a punk-lolita outfit, she didn’t don a blue wig, instead tying her long black hair into a high ponytail, with sparkly heavy makeup, exuding sexiness and charm with every move.
"Oh my god!" Spider-Man exclaimed as he walked over, unzipping his suit to reveal Faye Truman’s sweaty face and neatly pressed hair.
He examined Sasha’s outfit, "Man, you really went all out, didn’t you?"
"This is the first time you’re concerned about my lifelong happiness, I can’t let you down, right?" Sasha leaned over, struck a pose with her hands on her hips, her long ponytail flying, showing some heroic charm.
He smiled wryly, "I’m just afraid you might scare him off." He turned and spotted a male doctor talking with old classmates in the corner, quickly trotting over to bring him here.
Looking a bit like he just escaped from a clinic, but with a stethoscope around his neck, he showed much dedication to this party.
"This is Sean Quinn, a junior year student of mine. I think you’ve met him once before," Faye Truman introduced, "This is Ruby Sullivan, and this is Sasha Shaw, the renowned fashion designer."
"Hello." Sean was really taken aback by Sasha’s outfit, shyly greeting her.
Ruby smiled without speaking, taking a good look at him. Though wearing black-framed glasses, giving him a somewhat dull appearance, his looks were still decent, resembling a studious good student. Ruby was rather reassured knowing Sasha met this kind of man, she’d likely fare well.
"Hi there." Sasha seemed energized, grabbing his stethoscope, "Is this a prop or real?"
"It’s real." Sean chuckled, "Actually, I didn’t have suitable clothes, so I decided to dress as a doctor and brought my stethoscope from home."
"You guys chat, I’ll go greet others." Faye Truman said.
Ruby certainly couldn’t be a third wheel, "I’m going to find something to eat, I’m hungry." She gave Sasha an encouraging look and then went after Faye Truman.
"Where’s Cindy?" Ruby had been looking yet no one seemed to match her shape.
"She’s in the study on the second floor, refusing to come out." Faye Truman was a bit helpless, he hosted this party hoping she’d join the fun, but she had a huge fit, even scratching his neck.
He wore the Spider-Man suit to cover the scratch on his neck.
"I’ll go see her." Ruby had always been worried about her, but her father’s situation already gave her enough of a headache, and since she trusted Faye Truman, she hadn’t inquired much about Cindy Sterling’s situation. Hearing Faye Truman, it seemed the situation hadn’t improved.
She knocked on the door of the study, hearing someone inside ask "who," and gave her name.
After a moment, Cindy Sterling opened the door, initially stunned by her outfit, then frowned and asked, "What do you want?"
Ruby smiled, "What could I want, just missed you, that’s all."
Cindy Sterling pulled her sour face, "Come in, I actually have something to discuss with you and brother."
