Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 229: After-Sales Service
Cindy Sterling furrowed her brows like a blooming flower, snorted like a bull, and answered the call, "What do you want?"
"Why haven’t you been answering my calls?" Faye Truman raised an eyebrow.
"Sleeping."
"Sleeping sitting up?"
Cindy Sterling paused for a moment and then saw Faye Truman walking over. She glanced at him, leaned back in the wicker chair, and closed her eyes, "I’m busy."
"Delivering medicine." Faye Truman placed a tube of ointment on the tea table, "It’s for fading scars, some of my clients also use it, and the results are pretty good."
"Okay." Cindy Sterling responded lazily, without moving or opening her eyes.
Faye Truman sat down by himself, "It’s my birthday next week, and I’m planning on having a costume party to celebrate. Do you want to come?"
A costume party? Cindy Sterling snorted coldly, "Not going." Is this sympathy? Does she need pity already?
Her response was within Faye Truman’s expectations, as he picked up the open beer on her side and took a sip, "Then I’ll come find you."
Cindy Sterling shifted in her seat, "Wenny doesn’t live here anymore."
"I’m coming to find you." Faye Truman repeated slowly.
"I don’t know you well."
"But I know you well. I can come every day." He put down the beer, "Drink less, look at your belly," he said disdainfully, glancing at her and walking off carefreely with hands in his pockets.
After a few steps, pain hit the back of his head, as the recently emptied can fell to the side. Faye Truman sighed, wiped off the beer foam from his neck.
There’s something he didn’t mention—he just quit his job yesterday, his superiors were furious enough to throw cups, especially since he had just secured a spot for further studies in Meridia. Quitting upon returning was indeed a bit abrupt.
Moreover, the reason in his resignation letter was that he needed some time for after-sales service.
Once confirming Faye Truman had left, Cindy Sterling pinched the flesh under her hoodie, thankfully, it was just a bit loose with only a little belly.
She gently pinched the flesh on her belly, feeling a bit dazed, never imagining her belly would turn out like this.
In the evening, Vivian returned, seeing only Cindy Sterling at the dinner table, she looked left and right, not finding anyone, she asked puzzledly, "Just you?"
Cindy Sterling ate, not even looking at her, "Did you get dementia? My brother and them moved out this morning."
Vivian had grown accustomed to Cindy Sterling’s transformation into a pessimistic demeanor recently, not angered by her sharp remarks, "Didn’t Mr. Truman come by?"
Cindy Sterling slammed her chopsticks down, raising an eyebrow and looking at Vivian, "You let him in?"
Vivian glanced at her sulky face, unaffected, she handed over her coat to the maid, tidied her hair, and smiled, "Rest assured, I’m not fond of interfering. He called me, asking the maid to open the door."
After her words, Cindy Sterling lost her appetite, "Right, you always only care about your own happiness, never minding others’ lives." With that, she got up to head back to her room, keeping her gaze coldly forward while passing Vivian. Unexpectedly, Vivian suddenly approached, raising her hand to deliver a solid slap across her face.
Cindy Sterling froze.
The maid beside was stunned.
Vivian’s body trembled a little, taking a deep breath, before heading over to eat at the table, "Cindy Sterling, if you don’t wish to live well, that’s your own affair, no one in this world sails smoothly. I’ll just consider I didn’t give birth to you."
Cindy Sterling bit her lip, quickly returning to her room.
Vivian sat at the dining table, taking several deep breaths, picked up chopsticks, only to find her hands trembling too much to pick up anything, she could only dryly gaze at the dishes to calm down, flooded with fatigue in her eyes, beneath her meticulously applied makeup.
After sitting for a little while, she had the maid serve her a bowl of soup, slowly sipping half of it, finally easing her body.

At The Sullivan Family, Ethan Sterling listened to the maid’s report over the phone, his expression somewhat heavy.
Ruby Sullivan, nearby, caught some of it and, instead of waiting to be told, impatiently asked, "What’s wrong?"
"Nothing." Ethan Sterling put down the phone, further adding, "My mom and Cindy argued."
Ruby Sullivan frowned, recalling Vivian’s bad mood before leaving, "Maybe... visit her tomorrow night?"
Ethan Sterling shook his head, "Vivian messaged me, she’s going back to Gallia tomorrow."
Ruby Sullivan was stunned, "Is it because of me?"
"You’re overthinking." Ethan Sterling pondered for a moment, "She’s always been that way, unwilling to shoulder burdens, evading problems is her way to solve everything."
"With Cindy living alone... will that be okay?"
Ethan Sterling stayed silent, getting worried but unsure of what to do, suspecting that inviting his sister over would definitely be rejected.
Ruby Sullivan noticed his concern, "I’ll go check on her tomorrow."
"Alright." Ethan Sterling thought for a moment, adding, "Thank you."
Ruby Sullivan put down her book, tilting her head to look at him, "You’ve been quite fond of saying ’sorry’ and ’thank you’ lately, haven’t you?"
"Yes." Ethan Sterling tilted his head, looking at her, "Had I known to use them more often before, I wouldn’t have lost you."
Ruby Sullivan’s expression froze, suddenly not daring to meet his eyes, quickly burrowing under the covers, "Let’s get some sleep."
"Okay." Ethan Sterling’s lip curled upward, responding while lying down. After the lights went out, he remembered her previous words, "Just one question—did you genuinely want Howard to come back?"
Ruby Sullivan pondered, "Indeed, upon returning I mentioned taking over The Sullivan Group to see if I was suited for it." She sighed, "It proves that not only am I unfit for the CEO office, I found no joy in it either—now that dad is awake, I want more time with him, and also... spend more time with Honey."
Thinking of her daughter, her heart still lingered in sadness, though not as sensitive as before.
One should look ahead.
"Since you’re serious, I’ll also consider The Sullivan Group’s future carefully." Ethan Sterling patted her head, "Don’t worry." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Under the cover of darkness, Ruby Sullivan turned to look at him, feeling a sense of protection but also needing to know how long this protected moment could last...
She pressed her lips, raised her foot to hook onto his, "Shake hands."
Come to think of it, Ethan Sterling hadn’t been shaken hands for ages—suddenly being grabbed felt nice, so he didn’t take back his hand, continuing to rub her head.
Ruby Sullivan didn’t hold back either, peacefully closing her eyes, enjoying Mr. Sterling’s sleeping aid service.
The next day, Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling escorted Vivian to the airport. Cindy Sterling confirmed the situation, coldly returning to her room and slamming the door. In her eyes, she felt like her big brother had also been abandoned by their mother.
However, she didn’t care, anyway... she’s used to it.
Vivian still harbored resentment towards Ruby Sullivan, hugging only her son when heading to security, offering supplementary advice, "No need to worry about Emma, I’ve arranged care for her."
At The Sterling Family, Cindy Sterling was surprised by Faye Truman’s appearance with bags.
"What are you doing here?"
