Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 73: Move back, woman. - I
Libraries were a good place to study in. Libraries were a great place to be searched for a topic but they were not a good place for someone who had to pass the time.
Evelyn had constantly been searching for a book that she could read and she had many on her mind previously but now she could not come across one that would be good enough.
She just said down on a chair and then stopped her head in her hands. She was going frustrated with the lack of what to do and with the clear instructions from Lucas Julian was not going to let her out of the library and certainly not out of sight.
She wondered what was left inside the library. She had no pending assignments that she could complete nor did she have any kind of research work for presentations to be made. So all in all she was free when she wanted to do something.
That was a lot she had received in return for keeping her assignments in check before the due date.
"God," she groaned, "I need to leave." She whispered to herself in desperation. That was the only thing left for her to do.
Evelyn could go home now and watch a good movie or two before slipping into a deep nap and waking up into the late evening just for dinner and sleep again.
So she nodded at Julian before walking out of the library. It told him that she was going home and not to classes, acknowledging what Lucas had told her to do.
The other guy did not have enough time to bring the car around and Evelyn did not want to wait anymore in the dreadful and silent library. So instead of waiting for the man, she walked to the parking lot when the car had already been revised and sat inside without waiting for anyone to open her door.
The entire ride she closed her eyes and leaned her forehead across the window sideways.
The apartment building stood tall and proud without an inch of betrayal of what happened last night. Everything appeared to be normal and Evelyn hated that. She had been so scared to go upstairs, yet the building stood as it had been all its life.
She did not go upstairs to the apartment of the don but stayed where his brother lived.
"Ah, Evelyn," Lucas nodded at her with a smile, "I will be honest. I did not expect you to come back this early. Everything okay at the library?"
"Library," she repeated, "Yes." She practically greeted the word out in anger. The library did not seem like a good place as it did before.
Lucas gave her a huge, full of teeth, innocent smile making her angrier before.
"Are you taking some kind of Revenge from me?’ Evelyn spoke what she felt was on her mind the most. It felt like he was taking some kind of revenge from her by not letting her out of the house and not letting her out of the library.
"No."
"Then why is it that you will not let me out?"
Sometimes Lucas wondered how and to what extent was Evelyn sheltered from this life. Unlike his sister Bella Rosa who understood the rules and the reasoning behind his father’s decisions but Evelyn did not.
It did not make much sense to him because Evelyn came from the same background as them yet she refused to and some very logical things were logical.
"Evelyn," he began to explain to a little angry woman in front of him, "that’s why it is not over until Salvatore tells you that. He has to take care of the people that thought of attacking him in his house and until he does that you are not leaving."
"Why?" She screeched, making him close his eyes in a wince.
"Uff," he huffed and continued, "because you are under his direct protection and he is the one to protect you. If it is not my father then it is him. Would you rather have my father protect you instead of my brother?"
If Angelo intervened in the situation then Evelyn was as good as a little princess captured inside the palace on the highest level with dragons all around the Palace breathing fire.
Evelyn in front of him appeared to be in visible distress as she ran a hand through her and cat hair appearing to be done so many times the day.
"Then when is he going to do it?’ Evelyn asked him with a slightly aggressive tone. "Your brother is the dawn of one of the huge organizations with immense power. He can take care of this in a minute, can he not?"
Lucas shook his head very slowly in pure amusement. It was funny for the girl to think that all of it was going to be alright and quickly done as soon as possible. On the other hand, Salvatore was someone who likes to play with his victims, like a chase between a cat and a mouse.
"As much as Salvatore would love to have it all wrapped immediately," Lucas stood up to work in the kitchen, "you should know by now that man of power likes to play."
He did too.
It was then that the understanding hit a villain. Of Course, given that Salvatore was the leader of the criminal organization known throughout the world he was going to play with someone who had dared to attack him in the sacredness of his house.
Salvatore was going to enjoy the game the most.
"Also," Lucas spoke up after a minute or two," while you’re at it you might as well check upstairs. The house is fully prepared and you can move in whenever you want."
Evelyn scoffed incredulously. "Was it not you in the morning who offered to keep me here for as long as I wanted?"
That was before he realized that it would be hitting his head against the wall. There was no way that he could keep Evelyn and Salvatore under his roof.
