Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 180: Too late - I
Bella’s head snapped towards the book before her eyes went to the departing back of her mother. Alexis had just left the room making Bella fall into a wind whirl of panic and chaotic emotions.
Her head turned to her father, "Are you—" she shook her head when she did not see him twitch even lightly.
She huffed and got up to follow her out. By the time Bella rosa had exited the dining room, her mother had already reached the top of the stairs making her daughter hurry up and run towards her.
"Mama?’ Bella Rosa called out when she was ten steps away from her. "Mama?" rosa called out again and she quickened her steps. "Please stop,"
To her surprise, Alexis actually stopped.
She did not turn around nor did she speak anything.
The atmosphere suddenly turned a little unnerving and overwhelming that Bella Rosa could not even think of speaking a word.
As compared to her father her mother had never opened her anger to anything. It usually went away as quickly as it came. So, none of them really had to deal with the aftermath of it.
This time her mother made it known that she was angry.
"Why are you angry with all of us?" She whispered to the back of her mother, slightly afraid to go and face her from the front. "If anything this concerns papa and Salvatore. Yet, you have showed your anger to each and every one of us."
Alexis huffed and shook her head. Slowly she turned around and faced her second child; Bella Rosa.
"Do you really think that it is only your father and your brother that know what is going on in this house?" She raised a finger and pointed at her. "You, Marcello and even your husband have the complete idea of what is going around. Everyone has either the complete idea of what is going on or they just know something about it and here I am having no knowledge about what is happening with my family."
Alexis chuckled, "with my son." She shook her head again, chuckling to herself.
Slowly, she started taking steps into the direction of her daughter as she continued to talk, "three pregnancies; well, two but never to forget the fact that I actually gave birth to twins and that was not easy." Alexis pointed out before chuckling again. "Do you think I’ve wasted all those months just to see this day?"
"Mama," Bella Rosa licked her lip in desperation, "don’t you think that you’re taking it a little overboard?" She winced slightly as she spoke, "It’s not the first time that you have been kept out of the loop, then why is it hurting you so much?"
As a civilian and someone who was not an active participant in the organisation, Alexis tended to stay away from the dealings and not only that but she was also purposely kept at one arm distance.
From her husband she had often received the reason that if anything was about to happen, she could plead not guilty because she would have no knowledge about anything that went on in the organisation.
"I mean," Bella dramatically waved her hands in the air, "hello? Even though you are kept out of the loop you are still taking advantage of the fact that you can advocate for women all around the world."
Alexis’s eyes narrowed. The little flame that she tried to keep buried inside her blazed and her eyes glared at the girl.
Alexis took a few steps near Bella making the girl take a few back in a hurry. "You listen close to me," she warned in a deep, grave voice,
"My love story with your father was none like yours and Antonio’s." She revealed with a fierce expression on her face. "In fact, it was not a love story at all when I was a victim who had been abducted from her house because of a reason I wonder about every single day!"
"Not only that," Alexis raised her finger pointedly as she tried to keep her breathing in control, "coming back to your taunt, since I cannot get rid of your abusive father who touches me mentally and physically for his pleasure and fun," she spat the word out, "I am trying to help me tell that can be helped."
"What fun is helping those who cannot even give anything back to you?" Bella argued, her anger coming to life. "Just so you know, those people might thank you in their dreams but they are never going to help you."
Oh, how shallow people had become. Throwing some water over her anger, Alexis shook her head and palmed the cheeks off her daughter. "You are more shallow than I imagined you to be." Alexis smiled at her before stepping back.
"I am not going to explain to you my reasons for helping those that cannot help me back. But if you want," Alexis shrugged, "I am just taking advantage of my position."
Her position that brought power and money could not save herself but others and there was nothing that Alexis was going to stop about it.
Bella huffed before she slouched. "Why can you not talk to Salvatore? He can appear in places if he wants to. I understand that he has been underground for the past two years but maybe you can ask him to come out?" The grey eyes of her eyes were bright and hopeful but this time they did not affect Alexis.
When Alexis did not reply neither had a change in her expressions, Bella Rosa grew more desperate, "Mum," she gulped before looking around them, "it’s about Evelyn." She revealed, whispering the words. "She had run away from Salvatore and they are on the peak of finding her."
"Top spouting shit, Bella." Alexis firmly commanded before she turned around and walked into her room.
Very carefully and with patience, she closed the door before her panic began and showed it to her face.
Alexis closed her eyes, if they had nearly found her they have definitely found her and she had to warn Evelyn before it was too late.
Just to make sure Alexis moved into the closet and checked the suitcases that were on the side of Angelo.
There were two special suitcases that came with a good lock and two of them were missing.
"Fuck," she whispered as her hands went to pull her hair in frustration.
